Chapter 5

Chapter Five

“What do you think about taking all the inventory with us tomorrow morning and getting a hotel room in town for the rest of the convention?” Lottie asked when they were about halfway home.

Tilly was nodding before she finished asking the question. “I think that’s a great idea. We’ll just have to pack some clothes and the rest of the boxes. That does mean we’ll need to sell enough not to have to make two trips once the convention is over.”

Lottie smiled at her, feeling tired and more relaxed than she’d been in ages. Was it because the day had gone well, or because Travis seemed to want a place in her life? “After today, I don’t think we’ll have a problem with that.”

“Then let’s do it.”

Lottie nodded as she pulled out her phone and started scrolling and tapping on the screen.

By the time Tilly parked in front of the house, she’d booked a hotel room.

It didn’t take them long to pack the boxes of clothes, critters and candy into the back of the SUV.

After packing a small bag with her clothes and toiletries for the rest of the weekend, Lottie got ready for bed.

She trusted Tilly to pack something appropriate for Carri.

Getting changed, she found the D4R business card with Travis’s cell phone number on the back in the pocket of her jeans.

Since they hadn’t discussed texting or calls, Lottie waited until after she’d taken a quick shower and pulled on her favorite nightshirt with the dancing cow on the front to pick up her phone and Travis’s business card.

Crawling into bed, she added his number to her phone before opening a text. It took her five minutes of typing and erasing texts before she finally decided on a quick good night message.

Lottie: Good night, Daddy. We got home okay.

Lottie: Oh, this is Lottie.

Travis: It’s very late and you should be asleep, sugar. I’m glad you got home safely. Now go to sleep and I’ll see you in the morning.

Though she wanted to argue that it wasn’t too late, she decided her butt and ability to sit the next day did not want to chance being a smartass. Instead, she sent a kiss-face emoji before plugging her phone into its charger and turning off the light.

“Molly, I think I met a Daddy I actually show my Little to,” she whispered as she settled deeper under the covers and pulled her cow stuffie into her chest.

Though Molly wanted to hear all about him, Lottie was too tired to share. Instead, she closed her eyes and let sleep carry her away, already excited to see Travis in the morning.

Her dreams were filled with Travis and their kiss, but then they twisted and he told her he didn’t want to Daddy a woman who was so cut off from her Little.

She woke up with tears rolling down her face and Tilly banging on the door telling her to get up and moving.

It was time to make sandwiches for lunch and get ready for the second day of Littlepalooza.

Though he felt like a schoolboy with his first crush, Travis arrived at the convention center long before the building would open to the vendors.

He could not wait to see Lottie again. He could not wait to confirm that the connection he felt so strongly was real and not just a figment of his imagination.

He entered the building as soon as the doors opened. After setting up their table, Travis began to pace the wide aisle that separated their booths, anxiously waiting for his Little candymaker to arrive.

And he was certain that she was his, even though they had only spent a couple hours together the night before. He felt an attraction for Lottie Smith that he’d never had for any other woman.

His dreams the night before had been filled with her and their future.

He’d ended the night before jerking off and when he woke up well before dawn he found himself in the shower relieving the pressure in his cock once again.

Once he was dressed and ready for the day, he pulled out his computer and began to look at real estate listings in the local area.

The one-bedroom apartment he’d rented on a six-month lease was fine for just him, but Lottie needed space to cook and explore being Little.

Travis found several houses he liked that had more than enough room for the two of them, but he would wait until after the convention to contact a real estate agent about seeing them. He wanted Lottie to visit them with him and help make the final decision about where they would live.

Thanks to frugal living while he’d been in the service, and his monthly income now that he’d retired, Travis could comfortably provide for his Little. He might even encourage her to quit her job and focus on building her candy business.

With a sigh he realized he was moving too fast in his planning. Lottie might not even want to be with him once the weekend was over. He also needed to meet her Little and they needed to have the rules and consequences conversation though he knew in his soul that she was the woman for him.

Used to flying faster than the speed of sound in a multi-million-dollar machine, Travis had learned to make decisions and take action quickly. He had to slow down until Lottie agreed to a relationship with him though he had a hard time imagining a future without her in his life.

His woman.

His Little.

His everything.

When she finally walked in a few minutes later with cloth bags hanging off both arms and a box she could barely see over clutched to her chest, Travis huffed as he hurried toward her.

Without a word, he pulled the box from her arms. When she jumped and looked like she was going to protest, Travis gave her a look that he hoped conveyed that he was not pleased with her. “You should have texted me to help you bring things in.”

Lottie looked at him in shock before she smiled at him. “Good morning. That box isn’t that heavy, just bulky.”

“Good morning. I don’t care if the box was empty. If you have something big to carry, you call me.”

“Aye, aye, Captain,” Lottie snarked while giving him a left-handed salute.

“Brat,” he muttered as he followed her to her booth space.

Lottie stepped around her table and set her bags down on a low table at the back of her space. When she tried to take the box from him, he turned away so she couldn’t reach it.

“Where do you want it?”

“Over there. I think that’s one of Carri’s boxes.” Lottie pointed to the booth beside hers where her sister had been selling cute crocheted animals. He eased between the two tables and set it down.

“Is there more to bring inside?”

“Tilly and Carri have it covered, I think,” Lottie said, sounding nervous.

Studying her, Travis wondered if she was having second thoughts about being with him. It looked like they needed to talk before the day got started.

With other vendors were arriving through the front entrance to the ballroom he didn’t think they could find any privacy in that direction. Looking around, he spotted a door along the back wall of the room. Maybe there was somewhere back there they could be alone for a few minutes.

“Come on, sugar,” he said, holding out a hand.

Lottie frowned even as she stepped closer, though she kept her hands at her side. “Why? Where are we going?”

“Trust Daddy, Lottie-love.”

He added a single thread of dominance to his tone, but it was enough to push Lottie into placing her hand on top of his.

Lacing their fingers together, he stepped into the aisle and headed toward the back of the room.

Lottie walked beside him without question or hesitation, providing him with more proof that she was a Little, even if she did not let that side of her personality out very often.

She just needed someone to take over and allow her to be Little.

Once they were through the door and in a wide hallway beyond the wall, Travis looked around.

It took a moment to find what he was looking for.

There were no closets, but there were several carts stacked high with tables and chairs that formed a wall to their left.

Pushing one of the carts away from the others, he created a space just big enough for the two of them to use for a few minutes of privacy.

“What are you doing?” Lottie asked as he led her into the small space.

“What are you doing, Daddy?” he corrected.

“What are you doing, Daddy?” Lottie parroted, her voice a bit higher and lighter than it had been just moments before. Her Little was pushing forward, which could be good or bad since she had a day of selling candy ahead of her.

“Finding us a bit of privacy.”

With that simple explanation, Travis spun them around so his back was to the open hallway. Pulling her close, he wrapped both arms around her and kissed her.

The kiss went from a light and sweet good morning greeting, to deep, intense, and not suitable for a public space. When he traced his tongue over her lips, she parted them, welcoming him in. He held her securely and moaned into her mouth when she pressed her body more firmly against his.

He had to break the kiss when she began to make sexy sounds that a mere kiss could not contain.

They needed privacy, and from the sounds of people talking around them, this was not the place to find it.

“Good morning, Lottie-love,” he whispered, looking down into Lottie’s heavy-lidded eyes.

She had to swallow twice and clear her throat before she could whisper back. “Good morning, Daddy.”

“Join me for dinner tonight.”

“Okay, but I have to check into our hotel first so we don’t lose the room.”

“Great, I’ll drive you. That way your sister can keep the car. Then we’ll go out to dinner so we can talk about things.”

“Things?”

“Yes. Things like rules and consequences, your Little and the rest of our lives.”

He gave her one last quick kiss, but pulled away before things could get out of control again.
