Morning sunlight poured into the Mathews Co. offices, casting a warm glow across the glass walls and gold-accented décor. The hum of keyboards and quiet footsteps filled the air, blending into the low rhythm of business as usual but today wasn't business as usual.
Amanda and Ericka stepped out of the elevator side by side, dressed like the embodiment of success.
Ericka's tailored beige suit draped flawlessly across her frame, her cream blouse open just enough to reveal the soft glint of a gold necklace.
Her confidence filled every inch of space she walked through.
Amanda was the contrast sharp black suit, gray tie, sleeves slightly rolled, her air of quiet command matching Ericka's grace in perfect balance.
They didn't need to announce it people felt it. The CEO and her right hand, a force moving as one.
"Okay," Amanda began, scrolling through her tablet as they walked down the hall toward Ericka's office.
"We've got a marathon ahead five interviews in total.
Fashion Week Daily starts at ten sharp, then Mode+, The Collective, the podcast with Modern Voices, and finally CityView TV at four. "
Ericka hummed softly, checking her phone. "And we're doing them all here, right?"
"Everything's set up. I double-checked lighting and seating this morning." Amanda smiled faintly. "No one catches you on camera without perfect angles, not on my watch."
Ericka laughed quietly. "And people say I'm the perfectionist."
"You are," Amanda replied, grinning. "I just adapt to the environment."
Interview 1: Fashion Week Daily
By ten o'clock, the conference room had transformed into a chic, minimalist set white chairs, soft lighting, cameras arranged discreetly behind the interviewer.
The journalist, a bright-eyed woman in a fitted blazer, leaned forward eagerly. "Ericka Mathews, Amanda Parker it's a pleasure. Your campaign, is already making waves across the industry. Tell me, where did the vision come from?"
Amanda spoke first, confident and measured. "It started with a question how do we redefine modern sophistication without stripping it of emotion? We wanted the campaign to reflect strength and softness, control and vulnerability."
Ericka nodded, glancing toward Amanda with a subtle smile. "Amanda's concept resonated instantly. It aligned perfectly with where our brand is headed human, grounded, but still elite."
The interviewer's gaze flicked between them. "You two clearly have a rhythm. It's rare to see leadership and creative minds blend this seamlessly."
Amanda gave a soft laugh. "We've learned to read each other's thoughts."
Ericka smirked. "Sometimes too well."
The room filled with laughter, and the cameras captured it all two professionals perfectly in sync, yet undeniably magnetic together.
Interview 2: Mode+ Magazine
The next setup was more relaxed soft gray couches, coffee cups, and a casual conversational vibe.
"So tell us," the Mode+ editor asked, crossing one leg over the other, "what makes this partnership work? CEO and assistant roles can be... complicated."
Amanda and Ericka exchanged a look that lingered just a second too long before Amanda answered.
"It's built on balance," she said smoothly. "I handle the structure logistics, timing, execution while she builds the vision. We meet in the middle."
Ericka smiled. "And trust. I wouldn't be half as effective without her keeping everything grounded."
The interviewer tilted her head, smiling knowingly. "That's rare. It almost sounds like there's more than just professional trust between you."
Amanda's smile didn't waver. "Respect takes many forms," she said simply, and Ericka's lips curved in amusement. The interviewer didn't press further, but the unspoken tension hung deliciously in the air.
Interview 3: The Collective
The third interview was high energy a fast-talking online lifestyle publication filming for social media. Two ring lights glowed, cameras framed tight close-ups, and the questions came rapid-fire.
"Describe this campaign in three words," the host said, grinning.
Ericka leaned in, her tone cool and direct. "Bold. Intentional. Real."
Amanda chimed in, flashing a playful grin. "Power dressed with empathy."
The host snapped his fingers. "Love that! And if you had to credit one another in this process what's one thing the other person does that makes it all work?"
Amanda looked to Ericka. "She pushes boundaries makes everyone rise to her level. That kind of leadership changes everything."
Ericka met her gaze, voice soft but steady. "And she listens better than anyone I've ever worked with. That's what gives her ideas power she makes space for others."
For a moment, even the host looked moved. "Okay, now I get why everyone's calling you two the 'Power Pair.'"
Amanda laughed under her breath. "I'm never living that nickname down."
Interview 4: Modern Voices Podcast
Downstairs in the lounge, the podcast setup was more intimate two mics, a round table, and steaming cups of tea. The host, known for deep, introspective interviews, leaned forward.
"Amanda, you've come a long way from background creative to leading one of the most talked-about campaigns of the year. What's that journey been like?"
Amanda hesitated for half a second, then smiled. "It's been surreal. A lot of late nights, self-doubt, trial and error. But having someone who believes in me as much as Ericka does... that makes all the difference."
Ericka reached out without thinking, her hand brushing Amanda's forearm briefly before she realized and pulled back with a composed smile. "Talent like hers deserves belief."
The host grinned knowingly. "Sounds like there's a lot of mutual admiration here."
Ericka smirked. "You could say that."
Amanda's soft laugh followed, her tone playful but protective. "You could also say we keep each other accountable."
Their laughter filled the room, genuine and light.
Interview 5: CityView TV
By four o'clock, exhaustion had begun to creep in but they were professionals through and through. The cameras rolled, lights flared, and the polished host smiled wide.
"Mathews Co. is one of the few fashion houses leading with female leadership across every division," the host said. "What's that dynamic like two women steering such a powerful brand narrative?"
Ericka straightened slightly, her CEO aura taking command. "It's empowering. Representation matters not just for show, but because diversity of perspective drives creativity."
Amanda added, "We want women in this industry to know they don't have to shrink to fit. We're proof that professionalism and individuality can coexist and thrive."
The host smiled. "I think the city would agree you've become an icon of collaboration."
Amanda shot Ericka a playful sideways glance. "Guess we're officially iconic now."
Ericka rolled her eyes with a soft laugh. "Let's try to stay humble."
When the last camera clicked off, the crew began packing up. The room emptied slowly, leaving Amanda and Ericka alone amidst the soft echo of the day's success.
Amanda leaned against the wall, running a hand through her hair. "That was one hell of a day."
Ericka nodded, exhaling. "You were incredible, Amanda."
Amanda smiled faintly. "You weren't too bad yourself, Ms. Mathews."
Ericka turned toward her, voice low, eyes gleaming. "Careful. You say that name too sweetly, and someone might notice."
Amanda's lips curved. "Let them."
Ericka chuckled, shaking her head as she gathered her notes. "You're dangerous."
Amanda stepped closer, lowering her voice just for her. "Only for you."
