Chapter 50

CHAPTER FIFTY

Griffin

My intention wasn’t to make love to her when I came to her place, but that’s exactly what happened. We spent hours in her bed, sharing slow sensual kisses and a hard fuck that shook the walls.

I need her. She feels it now, but that’s not enough.

“Piper.” I trail kisses over her bare collarbone. “Wake up, baby.”

Her eyelids flutter open. “I’m awake.”

“I love you,” I say the three words that have consumed me for weeks.

Her bottom lip quivers. “I love you too.”

“You’re the most incredible woman I’ve ever met.” I rest my head on the pillow so I can gaze into her eyes. “You understand me in a way no one ever has.”

“That’s because I love you.” She smiles softly. “I think I fell in love with you that first day in your office when I turned around and saw you.”

I laugh. “It was love at first sight.”

“Love at first beat of my heart after your eyes locked on mine.”

“You felt that too?” I question with a quirk of my brow. “My heart beat harder after I saw you. Something changed. I knew you were meant to be a part of my life.”

“Does that mean we have to thank Marco?” She scrunches her face. “I can’t say the bad sex was worth it because I found you. It wasn’t.”

“He was bad in bed?”

She laughs. “He was a bad kisser. You do the math.”

I kiss her. It’s deep and lush. “I’m the best kisser, aren’t I?”

“You’re the best everything.” Her hand jumps to my cheek.

“Where do we go from here?” I want to ask her to move in with me. Hell, I want to drop to one knee and make this woman my wife, but I need to take a minute and let this love thing sink in.

Her lips find mine again. “Boston.”

“Boston?” I huff out a laugh. “What the hell is in Boston?”

She hesitates, her eyes jumping back and forth between mine. “I want something, Griffin. I want it for you and your mom. I know I haven’t met her, but there’s a picture of her in your home office, isn’t there? That black and white photo of the woman in the silver frame?”

‘That’s my mom.” I nod. “I want you to meet her Piper. I’ll take you to meet her.”

“Bring her to Boston.”

“What the fuck is in Boston?” I smile.

“It’s an art showcase hosted by Beck. It’s a pretty big deal.” She moves until she’s almost sitting. “I was offered six placements in it, but I want the world to see Rory’s work.”

I follow her lead and lean back against the headboard. “What are you saying?”

“Let me talk to Beck, but I know he’ll agree. Let’s give Rory’s work an audience.” She rubs her chest. “My heart is so full right now.”

“Slow down, baby.” I reach over to cover her hand with mine. “I’m not following.”

“I want to give three of my placements to Rory…to you.” She squeezes my hand. “Your mom and you should pick out three of his paintings to display.”

“You’d do that for him?” I feel a rush of emotion again. Fuck. I haven’t cried this much since the day we lost my brother. I haven’t allowed myself to feel.

She moves to wipe a tear from my cheek. “We’re going to do that for him.”

“Did I already tell you how much I love you?”

Her lips trail over my cheek to my mouth. “Show me, Griffin.”

I do. I slide down her body, licking a path over her breasts until I settle between them. “This is my forever, baby. This is right where I belong. Inside your heart.”

“Forever?” Her voice is barely a whisper.

“You feel it too.”

She nods. “I do.”

“Every tomorrow is going to be better than the last, isn’t it?” I kiss her nipple. “This is just our beginning?”

Her hand finds its way to my hair, tugging at the dark strands. “Every tomorrow, Griffin.”

I slide lower, savoring the taste of her flesh until I reach her mound.

When my tongue flicks over her clit, she cries out. It’s a sound that I’ll crave every day of my life.

“I want you inside of me,” she purrs.

“Let me have this first.” I lick her slowly. “Give me this and then I’ll make love to you.”

“Make love,” she echoes softly.

“To my future wife,” I whisper under my breath.

I’m going to make it happen.

Forever isn’t long enough for the two of us.
