Chapter 21
Kyle
Kyle was standing at the bathroom sink, brushing his teeth before bed.
His head was swimming with everything that he and Jon had been talking about—moving, selling the condo, buying a house, relocating Wyatt yet again, day care, looking for new jobs—argh!
He felt it was the right thing to do, but it was all just so much.
And he’d kind of dragged Jon along through it all.
Yeah, Jon had agreed to everything so far, but was that because he really wanted to do all of this, or because he didn’t think he had a choice?
Shit! What if Jon is just agreeing because he doesn’t want to make waves? These are life-changing decisions and could affect our entire relationship. Or maybe even destroy it. Maybe we need to stop and rethink everything. Why does adulting have to be so hard?
He wiped his mouth, dried his hands, and walked into the bedroom. Jon was already in bed, and Kyle slid in beside him.
“Hey.” Jon kissed his temple, wrapping him in a hug. “Are you okay? You seem to be thinking really hard over there.”
“Wow, it’s like you know me,” Kyle tried to joke, but it fell flat.
“Um, yeah, I do. I married you, remember.” Jon chuckled. “Now tell me, what’s going on in that handsome head of yours?”
“I guess I’m starting to feel overwhelmed with everything. Selling property, buying a house together, getting new jobs—it just goes on and on,” Kyle lamented.
“Hey, do you want some cheese with that whine?”
“I know. I’m acting like a five-year-old, but I’m being serious,” Kyle said, keeping his voice light.
He wasn’t angry, just frustrated, and he wanted to make sure Jon understood that.
“Plus, um, well, I keep thinking that I’ve dragged you into all this drama.
It’s not really fair that I’m forcing you to move and adopt a child and everything. ”
“Hey, you need to stop that right now.” Jon sat up and looked at Kyle. “I am right where I want to be. I am totally in love with you. And Wyatt. I can’t imagine being anywhere else.”
“Really? You’re sure?”
“Sweetheart, I’d move to the North Pole and live in an igloo to be with you. And our son. Emphasis on the ‘our.’ I want us. Period. If that means moving and finding new jobs, then that’s what we’ll do. Together. Forever. No regrets.”
Kyle leaned forward and kissed Jon hard.
That led to another kiss. And another. Kyle could feel Jon harden against him.
Jon broke the kiss and whispered, “I’m gonna stop us right there.
As much as I want you right now, I’m gonna fall asleep very soon.
But if I can have a rain check for tomorrow morning, I’ll make it worth your while. ”
Kyle gave him one more kiss. “I’ll hold you to that, husband.” He turned over, becoming the little spoon. They were both asleep in minutes.
Kyle moaned, feeling a pleasant sensation in his groin. At first he thought he was dreaming, but true to his word, Jon was lying between his legs, sucking him awake.
“Yeah, baby. Just like that,” he groaned, holding the back of Jon’s head. Jon continued to lick and suck, teasing Kyle into a frenzy. “Oh God, not gonna last,” Kyle panted. “But sweetie, I gotta taste you. Swing your hips around.”
Jon scooted around so they were lying side by side, mouth to cock. Kyle wasted no time licking Jon’s length from root to tip, sliding Jon’s foreskin down and encircling the head of his dick.
“Oh, yeah, sweetheart,” Jon moaned. “Feels so good.”
They continued to lick and suck, nibble and kiss, slowly working each other into a frenzy.
Kyle paused in his ministrations to wet his finger with saliva before sucking Jon down once again and sliding said finger behind Jon’s hairy balls and along his taint. He teased at Jon’s pucker, knowing how much his husband loved it. Pressing in slightly, he felt Jon’s balls tighten.
“Gonna come!” Jon panted. Kyle felt Jon’s release hit the back of his throat, and he swallowed hungrily, relishing the bittersweet taste. He felt Jon’s mouth engulf his rigid cock, sucking as he moved up and down his length.
“I’m there!” Kyle exclaimed as an orgasm overtook him. He saw stars, almost blacking out as he emptied himself into Jon’s waiting mouth.
When their breathing returned to normal, Jon moved back around, kissing Kyle soundly.
“Wow,” Kyle uttered, totally spent.
“Yeah, that was amazing.”
“Not sure I can move right now,” Kye added, turning over and snuggling against his husband. Jon’s arms encircled him as they both nodded off for a short nap.
“I can’t believe we both fell asleep again,” Kyle said, not for the first time that morning.
By the time they had finally gotten up, breakfast was over at Bradley House.
Will, who was sitting at the registration desk, offered to get them coffee, but they declined, saying they would go to Cuppa Joe’s for breakfast.
They now sat in the coffee shop, eating muffins and sipping their cappuccinos. It appeared the breakfast rush was over although a few of the tables were still occupied. An older man was bussing tables and stopped to greet them.
“Good morning, gentlemen. I’m Joe. Is there anything else I can get for you?”
“We’re good, thanks,” Kyle replied. “Are you by any chance the Joe for which this café is named?”
“Guilty as charged,” Joe said, a slight blush rising in his cheeks. “I remember seeing you here a couple of days ago. I take it you’re here for a visit?”
“We are,” Jon said. “I’m Jon, and this is my husband, Kyle. We’re on our honeymoon and also looking around your beautiful town. We’re considering moving here in the not-too-distant future.”
“How wonderful! First of all, congratulations on your marriage. It’s a pleasure to meet both of you. And I think you’ll find Hawthorne Bluff to be a great place to live.”
“Thanks,” Kyle joined in. “Everyone has been so friendly here. We’ve met Clay and his boyfriend, Finn, along with several others. We currently live in Washington, DC, but it’s time for a change, and this is exactly the kind of place we could call home.”
“I’m very happy to hear that. If I can answer any questions while you’re here, please don’t hesitate to let me know. And now let me get back to work,” Joe said, smiling. “I hear the boss can be a real taskmaster.” He winked and went on his way, picking up plates and cups and wiping down tables.
Kyle looked at Jon. “Yeah, this place just keeps getting better and better.”
