38. Yasmeena

Chapter 38

Yasmeena

“ W hat are you doing?” I ask Enrique as I’m back in his arms from the spin.

“Getting another man's paws off of my wife.” He leans in to whisper. “Your tits look delicious and other men have noticed.”

There goes the giggle again and I stop myself again, I wonder if it’s the way his beard tickles my ear when he’s this close. “Thank you and he didn’t have his paws on me, he was just talking. Although he was talking a lot more than he does in any other event.”

“Oh, I've earned another giggle, I'm flattered. And he was holding a conversation with your breasts the entire time.”

“Are you counting them? Hmm, I thought he had a neck problem the entire time but you know, I can’t wait to get out of this dress. It’s tighter than I need it to be.”

“Like I’m a collector of fine things and your giggles are precious. Don't worry, I'm more than happy to take it off.”

“Oh I know. You’ve had this sort of hungry look in your eyes, it’s been there since I came out of the room.”

“Because you look damn sexy.” I feel his hand at the small of my back as he presses me closer to his body. “And my mouth wants to worship at the altar of Yasmeena.”

“You have a way with words,” I lean in so no one can hear me. “This is about what you said in the penthouse, right?”

His smile is almost predatory as his green eyes sparkle like they do every time he attempts to impregnate me. “Let's go and I'll spend the rest of the night answering that question.”

“Rest of the night? Why, we don’t need that much time, baby.”

His eyes glaze over as if hearing me call him baby again does something to him.

“Be careful, I’m getting used to these endearments, I will take that much time and you'll want to beg for more.” There he goes kissing me again. “Change the subject before I’ll have you bent over somewhere with your dress hiked up.”

I open my mouth to reference the doggy style he mentioned but the look in his eyes tells me not to.

“Fine. Let’s dance and mingle some more then.”

After a bit of mingling and dancing, we finally are able to sit and enjoy the rest of the night. These charity galas are tiresome because they take so much talking with people you won’t care about outside of this. Since it’s a charity gala, there are performers and all goes out to a foundation to support local arts in schools.

As the performers continue, I excuse myself to go to the restroom.

Once I get in the restroom, I take a deep breath. I know I said I’d tell Enrique when the pain was becoming a bit worse but it’s not unbearable. It isn’t too bad right now but it’s worse than before at times.

Shutting my eyes, I let the pain pass as I think about anything else other than the pain. I open my eyes when I hear the clacking of heels and it connects with an upset Emily. She doesn’t pretend to not know me, she comes closer reapplying her lipstick while throwing daggers at me with her eyes.

My phone goes off and I take a look. It’s a text from Drew.

“Are you messaging him right now and letting him know that I'm here? Harassing you like you claim I did at the relaunching event?” Emily asks.

“No.”

I can tell she doesn’t like my answer.

“You planned this all, didn’t you? You took him from me and now, you’re parading him around as if he’s yours. He’s not.”

“Yes.”

“Yes what?”

“I took him from you.”

Emily scoffs, shocked by my answer.

“Why did you marry him? Have you always wanted to take him from me?”

“No, not until he proposed. And I married him because I want him to get me pregnant.”

Emily’s tears fall down her face and she moves closer in my space.

“He doesn’t love you.” She points at me. “He’s never going to love you because he loves me. He wouldn’t have even gone to you if I hadn’t left him.”

“But you did. You left him,” I point out.

“You fucking bitch,” she cries.

She wipes her tears.

“Okay, I see you need a moment.”

I side step her as another wave of pain hits me but I ignore it, transferring the pain like I used to do when I was younger. My nails dig into my palm.

“Wait…” Emily grabs my arm. “Give him back to me, divorce him. I love him and he loves me. I made a mistake. I’m the love of his life and he’s mine.”

Before I can answer, another woman comes into the bathroom. She looks between us and I already can see the conclusion she’s made. I’m not crying and stoic so I did something or said something to Emily, who is crying and not stoic. I rip my arm out of her hold and walk out.
