FOUR MONTHS LATER
It had been one year since I took her on our first date. To celebrate the day, we returned to Glyde, but this time we took our friends, and we had a ball. Yamika and Evyn showed up together, confirming everyone’s suspicions that they were a couple.

“I think it will. I think we’ve got the space to ourselves for the rest of the night.”
She stiffened in my arms before she broke free and spun around to stare at me. “July, what did you do?”
“What do you mean, what did I do? What makes you think I did something?” I asked, spreading my arms out at my sides.
“Did you rent out this entire rooftop?” she asked with wide eyes and her mouth partially opened in disbelief.
“What will it get me if I did?”

“No, baby. I rented out not just the rooftop, but also the restaurant so that we could celebrate the first anniversary of our first date.”

I sat down and undid my belt buckle.
“Will we be disturbed by the servers or anyone? Can they see up here?” Abril asked as she removed two pillows and placed them on the floor between my legs.
I pointed overhead in three different directions. “There’s a camera right there, there, and there. There are none here.” I thrust my fingers down at the chair that I occupied.

“What did I do?” I asked, feigning shock.
“You’re the reason that this furniture is moved around. I knew it looked different.”
I chuckled. “Yeah, I had to move things out of the sight of the owner. And to answer your question, no one will be here to disturb this groove tonight,” I answered with a wink.
“How did you manage it? It must have cost a small fortune.”
