CHAPTER THIRTEEN

The sound of the RV door slamming woke Harris, and the scent of strong coffee filtered into the bedroom.

He leaned on his side so he could see into the kitchen area.

Wolf was setting plates and cups down on the table in the dining booth, which meant catering was already here and Wolf had gotten them both breakfast. He didn’t want to spoil the surprise, so he rolled over and waited until Wolf had everything set up.

“Wake up, sleepyhead!” Wolf called after a few seconds. “I got breakfast.”

Harris made an effort to stretch and yawn as if he just woke up. “Breakfast? Already?”

“Get it while it’s hot!”

Harris threw on his briefs and walked through the RV to where Wolf stood proudly next to the dining booth which was set for two, but Harris was too distracted to appreciate the food on the table because Wolf stood there in nothing but a pair of loose-fitting sweatpants that hugged his junk and showed off his beautiful body.

“Good morning,” Harris said, waggling his brows and giving Wolf the onceover before planting a hot-as-fuck kiss on those luscious lips.

“Mmm. Morning breath.”

Harris’ hand flew to his mouth. “I’m sorry.”

“I’m just kidding. I don’t care about that. Sit. Cleanse it away with some coffee.”

Pancakes, bacon, sausage, biscuits, hash browns, and fruit covered the table, along with coffee and juice. It left Harris wondering how many trips it took Wolf to bring all this stuff back to his RV. “You thought of everything.”

“They have waffles and scrambled eggs too. If you want, I can go grab another couple of plates.”

“This is plenty. So, what do you want to do today?” Harris shoved a giant triangle of pancakes into his mouth. It was covered in melted butter and hot maple syrup, which tasted amazing.

“I’d like to check out the festival. Maybe Tyler can give us disguises so we can walk around unnoticed like regular people.”

“Like he did last year for himself and Ethan?”

“Yeah.” Wolf laughed. “Ethan didn’t look that bad, just different. Tyler looked like a porn star from the 70s. It was hysterical.”

Harris laughed softly, then took a sip of juice. “I’m up for it.”

“I’ll text Tyler.” Wolf put down his coffee, tapped on his phone, then tossed it onto the seat of the dining booth.

“Warrior Black is playing later. I want to see them.” A ding came from Wolf’s phone, but he ignored it and continued.

“I saw a clip of their last concert on a livestream, and they fuckin’ rocked it.

I don’t know why I’ve never seen them before.

” He ate a sausage. “I guess I was always busy or on tour or something.” Wolf’s phone dinged again, and this time he picked it up and looked at it.

Then his eyes darted to Harris’. “Tyler said they’re outside and will be here in a second. ”

Harris shot to his feet at the exact same time as the door to the RV swung open, and Ethan and Tyler walked in.

“Good morn—” Tyler’s word got cut off at the sight of Harris standing there in his underwear.

Ethan was frozen in place, his face scrunched up as if he couldn’t comprehend what he was seeing.

Harris was left staring back at Ethan with a deer-in-the-headlights look on his face, while Wolf just kept looking back and forth between Ethan and Harris.

“What’s this?” Ethan asked, an edge to his voice.

“Breakfast,” Wolf answered, casually, and stuffed a piece of bacon into his mouth.

“That’s not what I’m talking about, and you know it.” Ethan looked down at Harris’ underwear, still tented from morning wood, then at Wolf. “Are you two sleeping together?”

Tyler’s gaze darted cautiously from Wolf to Harris and then to Ethan. For once, they guy had nothing to say. It was as if Tyler was afraid the slightest sound would set off an explosion.

Harris and Wolf exchanged an uncertain glance, neither answering Ethan’s question. They agreed not to say anything until after the tour, but they couldn’t outright lie to Ethan.

Harris’ heart started to hammer in his chest, and he couldn’t make his eyes any less wide. Slowly, he sunk back into the dining booth and didn’t look anywhere except at Wolf, who somehow remained calm and unfazed.

“Maybe we should go,” Tyler finally said, breaking the silence.

“No.” Ethan looked pointedly at Wolf. “What’s going on?”

The corners of Wolf’s lips curled slightly, and he shook his head. “It’s not a big deal.”

“Yes, it is a big deal!”

“Ethan . . .” Tyler placed his hand on Ethan’s forearm. “They’re both adults. This is none of our business.”

“Of course, it’s my business!”

“How’s that?” Wolf asked.

Sweat started to form on Harris’ forehead, and he could hear his heart beating in his ears.

He didn’t know why he was so freaked out, maybe because of the shock on Ethan’s face, and the guy had a right to be shocked.

Harris should have discussed it with Ethan from the beginning, but both he and Wolf agreed to keep things quiet.

Now, he realized that wasn’t the best idea.

While Harris was having a silent meltdown, Wolf continued to eat breakfast as if nothing happened. How the hell was Wolf staying so calm?

“This is between me and Harris,” Wolf replied between bites.

“You’re my best friend in the world,” Ethan began, but Wolf cut him off, dropping his fork with a loud clang and looking Ethan dead in the eyes.

“You’re my best friend in the world.”

“We’re brothers,” Ethan continued.

“Agreed.” Wolf nodded once.

“That’s what makes it my business. You’re my business. Do you really think this is a good idea?” Ethan shot a daggered gaze at Harris, then looked back at Wolf waiting for an answer.

Wolf let out a short sigh. “I know you’re only looking out for me. I know you got my back at all times. But I’m a big boy. I’m not having any kind of crisis. Everything’s fine.”

“Really?” Ethan raised his brows. “You’re having nightmares again.”

Wolf opened his mouth, then closed it, and let out a sigh. “I don’t want to talk about this right now.”

Tyler put an arm around Ethan’s back and tried to steer him away. “You heard him. He’s not ready to talk yet. Give the guy a minute. We just walked in on them. Take a breath, and let’s go for a walk or something. When Wolf’s ready to talk, he will. Come on.”

Surprisingly, Ethan conceded and raised his hands as a sign of defeat. “All right. Fine. I’m leaving.” Before he turned, he leaned a little closer in Wolf’s direction and said, “I’m just worried about you. I don’t want you to get hurt.”

“I know, brother.”

Ethan’s head snapped in Harris’ direction, his eyes narrowed, and he pointed his finger in Harris’ face. “I warned you.”

“OK. That’s enough.” Tyler continued to escort Ethan toward the door. “We’ll talk to you two later. Enjoy your breakfast.” Then he turned back and whisper-shouted at Harris, “You couldn’t put on a pair of pants? I texted that we were coming over!”

Harris let out a huge breath as soon as the door to the RV closed. “Holy fucking shit.”

“Why didn’t you say anything? Were you embarrassed to tell them that we’re together?” Wolf asked, sadness dulling his eyes.

“No way. I was afraid Ethan was gonna slug me.”

“Why? Me and him aren’t together anymore. He loves Tyler. He never loved me.”

Harris tried not to flinch at the harshness of the statement and didn’t know how Wolf could say that as if it didn’t mean anything. “He’s being protective. He thinks I’m just fooling around with your heart.”

“How do you know that? And what did he mean when he said he warned you?”

Harris huffed out a breath of air. “We had some words after you told him we kissed in Denver. I can’t believe you told him we kissed after we agreed not to tell anyone.”

“Oh.” Wolf lowered his eyes for a moment. “Yeah. I needed to tell someone because I couldn’t stop thinking about it. Sorry. Wait. He told you that I told him?”

“Yeah.”

“Wow. I guess no one around here knows how to keep a secret. Does Marshall know too?”

“I don’t know. I don’t think so.”

“Great. Now we’re keeping a secret from Marshall.”

“No. We were keeping a secret from everyone, until you blabbed to Ethan, and you know Ethan told Tyler.”

“Hmm,” Wolf mused. “I guess Tyler is the only one who can keep a secret.”

“I know. Right? I thought he’d be the first to spill the tea. Wait a minute.” Harris smirked as he put the pieces together. “He knew.”

“You think so?”

“Of course he knew! It’s so obvious now.

Did you see the way he was looking at us on the plane?

And those shark T-shirts with the swallowing.

” Harris grunted a few laughs while shaking his head.

“He’s sharp. I can’t believe he didn’t say anything to Ethan.

” They were getting off track, and Harris redirected the conversation with the wave of his hand.

“That doesn’t matter. What matters is me and you.

I don’t care what Ethan thinks. This isn’t a game.

I’m not fooling around with your heart. I love you, Wolf.

Why’d you tell him it’s none of his business? Why didn’t you tell him we’re in love?”

Wolf dropped his gaze to his plate and kept it there for several long seconds.

“I’m sorry. That was wrong of me. I guess I was trying to hurt him.

The way he hurt me. Only that wasn’t fair.

It was uncalled for. Ethan never purposely set out to hurt me.

It was childish. I’m sorry. I should have told him we’re in love.

I’m not ashamed of it. I want to shout it to the world. ”

Wolf marched toward the door, opened it, leaned out, and yelled. “I’m in love with Harrison Young!”

Harris pulled Wolf into the RV and shut the door. “Are you crazy?”

Wolf flashed a wide grin. “Crazy about you, baby.”

“So crazy that you full-named me?”

“Deliriously crazy.”

“Good. I’m crazy about you too, but if the press heard you, it’s gonna be broadcasted all over the place in five minutes and it’s going to be a PR nightmare.”
