Chapter Fourteen

Prince moaned around the slice of peach that Finn fed to him. "Is it sweet?"

"Not as sweet as you." He kneaded Finn's naked ass to prove his point. Finn chuckled and lightly tapped him on his chest, then snuggled in deeper.

They were still lounging on the beach under the moonlight, listening to the sound of the waves, basking in the afterglow.

"I know I got excited and we jumped straight to sex, but when did you have time to set this up?" Finn asked against his chest.

"Before we got here. I know the family that owns the resort."

Prince had known the family for years through his friendship with Nico Outerbridge, whom he had met in college.

Nico was born in Bermuda, and Tide & Ember had been in his family for generations.

Although it sat near the beach, the family did not take ownership of it, leaving it open for the island residents to enjoy at will, closing it only for special occasions, like Prince's request for a private romantic evening with his lover.

Nico had not asked many questions. He simply told Prince he would make it happen

"I assume since you have more surprises planned for this trip?"

"Of course." Prince kissed the top of his head. "But you'll just have to wait and see what they are. Now, go to sleep. I missed my midday nap."

Prince hissed in real pain when Finn pinched his nipple. "For the remainder of this trip, you are not allowed to allude to or refer to yourself as being old." He raised his head, glaring at Prince. "Do so, and I won't suck your dick for a month."

"You wouldn't dare," Prince said, shocked and worried. After what he had experienced tonight, there was no way he could live without Finn's mouth on him. He was getting hard just thinking about it again.

"Test me and see," Finn said seriously.

"Fine, fine," Prince relented, lightly patting Finn's ass. "I'll listen to you."

"That's more like it."

Finn lay back down, and a comfortable silence fell between them.

Prince rubbed Finn's back soothingly, gently lulling him to sleep while his own eyes and mind remained alert. Not for their safety, but because this was the first time they were sleeping together, and he didn’t want to miss a single moment of it.

His thoughts drifted briefly to earlier, to the moment he had felt Finn tense beneath him and understood why.

He had wanted nothing more than to sink inside him, to finally close the distance that had been driving him slowly out of his mind for weeks.

Prince wasn’t naive, but he hadn’t planned for things to go as far as they had tonight, and he had not come prepared.

The last thing Prince wanted was to get Finn pregnant, not when Finn had a future ahead of him that he had worked too hard and sacrificed too much for, and not when their relationship was still finding its footing.

There would be time for that. He would make sure of it.

But tonight had been more than enough, and he did not regret a single moment of it.

If anything, it had made him greedy for more.

Watching and feeling Finn come undone in his arms had been glorious, knowing the kind of control he had over him.

But he also had to admit that Finn had him completely locked in, and Prince never wanted to be let go.

Soon, Prince heard soft snores coming from Finn, and like everything about Finn, he found it adorable. It was making him fall in love much more quickly than he could have imagined.

Finn gasped when the chilled champagne hit his back, Prince's hot tongue trailing after it, not stopping when tongue and liquid reached the curve of his ass.

"Finn!"

Finn was startled out of his thoughts and looked up in shock to find Blake Shaw, Lucas Hamilton's main assistant, standing next to his desk.

"What's up, Blake?" Finn asked.

"What the hell were you thinking about? I called your name three times."

Finn's face instantly flushed with heat as he tried not to let the memories of his weekend with Prince surface on his expression.

"Uh…" he stuttered.

"Forget it," Blake said sharply. "Lucas wants you to bring him the notes from the last meeting with Fielding Technologies."

Finn nodded, not minding Blake's curt tone. That was just how Blake was, from the first day they’d met.

Most would think he was being an ass, but Finn knew better.

Although the office was laid-back, it didn’t rule out cutthroat competition among employees who needed to show their worth to the top brass to get ahead.

Rumor had it that Blake had worked as a janitor before becoming Lucas's number one assistant.

Finn picked up the file sitting to his left, stood, and walked toward his boss's office.

Finn tapped on Lucas's door three times and waited for the signal to enter. Lucas was sitting at his desk, typing away on his keyboard, his eyes fixed on the screen.

"Here are the notes you asked for," Finn said, setting the file on the desk.

"You could have just emailed it to me," Lucas said, still not looking at him.

"I wanted to apologize to you."

"For what?"

"For Prince."

That had Lucas looking away from his screen and at Finn. "Why are you apologizing for Old Sull?"

"He's not old," Finn said quickly, somehow forgetting he was talking to his boss.

Instead of getting angry, Lucas smiled. "I stand corrected. But still, what do you need to apologize for?"

"Asking you to give me those two days off. I have this thing about not letting my personal and professional lives collide."

Lucas leaned back in his chair, looking at Finn. "Did you tell this to Prince?"

"No, I've been a little distracted." Finn looked down, feeling his face grow hot at what had been distracting him. He looked up when he heard Lucas chuckle.

"The beginning of a new relationship is always the best part, but you don't need to worry about apologizing to me on Prince's behalf." He stood from his desk, putting his hand in his pocket as he walked closer to Finn. "He's not just a friend, he's family."

Finn nodded and turned to leave, but Lucas's next words stopped him. "Have you thought about what you're going to do after graduation?"

Finn had been thinking about it a lot, but he still hadn’t given Bevin an answer on whether they were going to be business partners or not.

"It's been on my mind as well," Finn said, turning to look at Lucas as a thought came to him. "Can I talk to you about something?"

"Personal or professional?"

"A bit of both." He sighed, realizing what he had just said, then corrected himself. "I'm just looking for professional advice, and whatever I decide will affect my personal life."

Lucas leaned against his desk, crossing his arms over his chest. "Have a seat and talk to me."

Finn did as he was told and, without going too far into the personal aspect, laid out the business deal with Bevin and his role in the company. Lucas was silent when Finn finished explaining everything, and Finn wasn’t certain what Lucas was going to say.

"Do you know why out of all the interns I picked you to work directly for me?"

Finn shook his head.

"It had nothing to do with your grades or all the academic awards you earned.

I'm not discounting them, but what got me was the determination in your eyes.

I had no idea what you wanted for the future, but there was a look in your eyes that told me you would do anything to succeed.

I've watched you take on tasks and complete them in record time, and the more difficult the task, the easier it seemed to you.

I won't even talk about how you helped negotiate the deal with the CEO of House of Pallas. Do not downplay everything you’ve done around here.

Your evaluation is already written with glowing reviews, not from me, but from the staff you have worked with. So why are you running scared now?"

"I'm not s..." He was about to defend himself, but he couldn't finish the word when he realized Lucas was right to call him out and let him face the one thing he was running from.

"I don't want to disappoint him or myself. He's trusting me with millions of dollars, and I don't want that on my shoulders if I mess something up."

"You will fail," Lucas said. "And you will succeed, but that’s business." He chuckled.

"I can't trust myself right now."

"Understandable, but the longer you wait, the longer you will keep talking yourself out of doing it. I'll tell you a secret that not even Prince knows, and if he finds out, he would hold it over my and Tyler's heads for life. So I'm trusting you."

"I can't promise I won't tell," Finn joked.

"Still in the honeymoon stage and not keeping secrets from each other. Good, keep it up. Anyway, without going into too much detail, when my dad turned the company over to Tyler and me, we screwed up a multimillion-dollar deal, even though we had been working there since we were teenagers. We knew what the client wanted and thought we had done everything right, but we still failed. And what made it worse was that your wonder boy was seconds away from taking the deal from us if our dad hadn’t stepped in and saved us in the end.

What I'm trying to say is that nothing will be perfect.

You will not get every contract, no matter when you take that step. "

Finn sat back in his seat, letting Lucas's words sink in, and it helped him make a decision. Standing, he extended his hand toward Lucas. "Thanks, boss."

"So you've decided?" Lucas took his hand and shook it.

"I have," Finn said as their hands separated. "Aren't you going to ask me what I decided?"

"Nope." Lucas smiled. "I'll just wait to see how much dust you kick up in the business world." He patted Finn on the shoulder. "Do me a favor."

"If I can."

"Come to me whenever you're stuck. You're not alone, Finn."

"I will. And thank you, Mr. Hamilton."

"You're dating one of my best friends, Finn. It's Lucas."

"Lucas."
