Chapter 43

“The two of you seem to still be hitting it off,” Chip said as they drove down the mountain.

“We are.” Keith glanced over at Chip. “Do you have my schedule for the next couple of months?”

“In my computer. Why?”

“I need to know what commitments I have for the week after we finish shooting out here, the first week of December, and the week of Christmas.”

“I’ll look while you’re filming today.”

“Thanks.”

Chip cleared his throat. “If you’re making plans that far in advance, things sound serious between you two.”

Keith’s lips tilted, and his eyes got a starry look about them. “I want her to meet Kevin and Sam. Between her schedule and mine, the first week of December looks to be the first time we can fit it in if the boys can come to the ranch.”

“I’ll check with them today. I don’t have their school schedules since they left for college.”

“Thank you.” Keith looked out the window. “What scenes are we shooting today?”

“We’re using the horses from the Biltmore Estate. The picnic scene where you and Diane ride by the river.”

“I remember. How many lines do I have?”

“Not many. We’ll go over them when we get there. Mostly, it’ll just be scenes of the two of you riding. You’ll have dialogue during the picnic, but that’s about it.” Chip glanced at Keith. “They want these done as quickly as possible. Rain is in the forecast.”

“I wish it was raining now. I could still be with Michelle.”

“Damn, dude. You’ve got it bad.”

“My marriage with Samantha was more about keeping her happy so we wouldn’t argue. The more money I spent, the happier she was.”

“And Michelle?”

“Just the opposite. I want to make her happy, not keep her happy, which doesn’t necessarily cost money.” Keith looked over at Chip. “But I’d spend every penny I have as long as I get to bask in her radiance.”

“Want me to see if they have an opening at Hallmark?” Chip grinned.

Keith shoved his arm. “Shut up.”

They pulled up to the guard gate, and Chip rolled down his window. “Keith Mason for the film set.”

The lady directed him to the location.
