Chapter 11 Kyelle

Two Weeks Later . . .

Kaeden:

Do you have any food allergies?

Me:

That’s a strange question.

Kaeden:

Just trust me. I’m in planning mode, my baby.

Me:

Alright. None that I know of.

Kaeden:

Say less.

There’s something about being interested in a man who plays professional sports that I didn’t anticipate: syncing calendars and finding time.

While Kaeden and I have been able to trade texts daily and even converse at the end of most days, I haven’t seen much of him.

I’m not much of a sports fan, but I have found myself craving the presence of his handsome face, which has led me to search for highlights and games from last season just for glimpses of Kaeden.

Kaeden must be feeling the pinch of not seeing me as well because he’s carved out tonight for us to go on our first official date.

It’s crazy to think we’ve been to two events and have yet to experience an intimate outing.

Nevertheless, I’m looking forward to seeing and spending time with Kaeden tonight.

Unlike when I met Kaeden at the barbecue, he refused to allow me to meet him at the location for tonight’s date.

Therefore, I had no choice but to give Kaeden my address so he could pick me up from my house.

Kaeden didn’t provide me with any details other than to tell me to dress comfortably but sexily.

When that sent me on a spiral for selections in my closet, Kaeden told me to wear jeans and a nice blouse because he didn’t want to wreck while staring at my exposed skin on the drive.

With that directive in mind, I found the perfect outfit, hoping that I’m able to appease Kaeden’s request. Doing a quick spin in my mirror, I smile at how well I threw something together, just as my doorbell sounds throughout the house.

The click-clacking of my heels echoes with every step I take to my front door, colliding with the fast tempo of my heart rate. Taking a quick look at myself, I nod and unlock the door before pulling it open as a smile upturns my lips.

“Damn, Ms. Ky. I see I’m gonna have to be a bit more specific with future directives. You’re a sexy mothafucka.” Kaeden’s deep timbre hits me in my lower region which causes a tremor in my honeypot.

I’m wearing a square yellow bustier lantern sleeve top, high-waisted ripped hole denim jeans, and clear chunky-heeled ankle strap sandals showcasing my white painted toes.

I also switched my everyday purse to a smaller one so I could travel light tonight.

I also got to my hairstylist, Zilani McCrae, so my hair is straight and hanging on my shoulders in beautiful wand curls.

“I was only fo—”

“Nah, you thought those peekaboo jeans wouldn’t cause my dick to react, but even in jeans, your body is banging. Let’s get out of here before I flip the script and throw away this money.” A giggle escapes my mouth when Kaeden takes me by the hand attempting to lead me out of the house.

“Uh, I need to lock the door.” Thankfully, my keys are hanging on the holder just above my alarm panel by the door, allowing me to grab them and exit the house.

“Damn. My bad. Here, let me handle that.” Taking the keys from my hand, Kaeden proceeds to secure my house before leading me to his vehicle idling in the driveway.

“It’s dangerous to leave a running vehicle, even if this isn’t a rough neighborhood.”

“Danger would surely come to the bold mothafucka trying to steal it with me in close proximity.”

“Danger. Get on the floor.” I start rapping the old school rap lyrics causing Kaeden to laugh before opening the passenger door for me to enter the vehicle.

“What do you know about that, Ms. Ky?” The sinister smirk and flash of mischief in Kaeden’s eyes cause me to return the look before responding.

“More than you know.”

Most people wouldn’t believe that my father. the educator. had a strong addiction to rap music while I was growing up. According to him, he was doing research to keep up with his students. But I think Dad found more than he was searching for in the genre of music he started listening to.

“Can I ask you a question?”

“Of course. What’s on your mind?”

“What was your motivation for getting into sports? Did you have a coach in your ear pumping you up to achieve pro status?”

A low chuckle escapes Kaeden’s mouth as we head to the unknown destination for our first date. Jitters are surging through my body in waves, and the urge to distract myself has me desiring to talk.

“That’s two questions, Ms. Ky. But honestly, I’ve always had a knack for sports, particularly football.

I had so much aggression that the last thing coaches were doing was pumping me up.

In fact, they would tell me that my attitude would lead to me losing out on the big leagues because I would either be dead or in prison. ”

“Oh my God. They actually said that to you?” My mouth drops and my chest tightens because I’m in disbelief at someone telling that to a child, attitude or not.

“Oh my goodness. That boat is huge,” I say, staring out the window as Kaeden pulls into a marina.

We’re about an hour or so outside of Ribax, and initially, I wanted to protest until remembering that Kaeden hasn’t given me any reason to raise red flags.

Three yacht-type boats are sitting in the water, lit up like a holiday wreath.

Not knowing where Kaeden was taking me for the evening is a welcome surprise.

“I have never been on a boat before.”

“Well, let’s make tonight memorable.” With that, Kaeden exits the vehicle, and butterflies begin swarming in my stomach as a cheesy grin forms.

My ex’s idea of a great date was taking me to a buffet on the rare occasion where lobster was one of the meat selections. Spending time with a man like Kaeden means preparing to experience grown man vibes.

“You’re so pretty, Kyelle,” Kaeden says after opening my door and assisting me out of the vehicle.

For the first time since picking me up, I take in Kaeden from head to toe.

Kaeden is wearing a casual cream button-up shirt reminiscent of a polo style, brown slacks with a crease down both legs that remind me of how my grandmother irons her clothes, and a pair of brown loafers.

The gold chain peeking through his chest from the unbuttoned top has me curious to know what lies beneath the confines of his shirt.

There’s also a gold watch adorning his right wrist. But the star of the night is a tie between Kaeden’s sparkling hazel eyes and whatever cologne he’s wearing.

The woodsy yet citrusy scent piercing my nostrils makes me want to sniff Kaeden’s neck until every fragrance note is identified.

“How’d I do?” Kaeden asks, cutting into my perusal of his athletic yet muscular physique.

“You’re alright with me.” Winking, I place my clutch under my arm and allow Kaeden to escort us toward the boats. “Why a boat for tonight?”

“I wanted privacy and your complete undivided attention. While most restaurants have no problem making room for celebrities, I didn’t want the hassle.

I want it to be just the two of us tonight, so a dinner cruise was the perfect solution.

” The sincerity in Kaeden’s tone colliding with the entrancing scent of his cologne, makes me want to do a split before landing on his dick.

What’s crazy about the wayward thought is, I have never been able to execute a split.

But a vision of me with my legs spread while moving up and down in Kaeden’s lap has me believing that anything is possible.

Not even the thought of fracturing the muscles near my honeypot erases the vision as we continue toward the dock.

“How did you find out about these particular boats? Have you done this before?”

Staring at the large vessels sitting in the water, I can’t help but ask the questions slipping from my mouth. I didn’t know anything like this existed, so I’m impressed with Kaeden’s desire to show me something new and different from what I expected.

“Actually, the one we’re using for the evening belongs to one of my teammates who believes in exercising privacy as a public figure.

The team he utilizes whenever he comes is who will take care of us.

Unfortunately, we won’t be able to go anywhere far due to time constraints, but if you want, I will make it happen another time. ”

“I want,” I say bashfully.

“Say less.”

Kaeden stops walking long enough to pull me into his magnificent arms before placing several light kisses on my lips, heating my body rapidly from the feel of his soft lips on mine.

“Uh. I know you don’t think I’m about to eat these.” My nose twists and my face contorts as I stare at the smoke billowing from under the clear glass dome once the waiter lifts it from the plate.

A low chuckle escapes Kaeden’s mouth, and my eyes shift from the slimy shells on the plate to him.

“See, that’s what my ass gets for trying to do something nice. I don’t eat those nasty mothafuckas, but I was trying to—”

“Have dinner canceled before we made it to the main course.”

Kaeden’s loud laughter hits me in the center of my chest causing my lips to twitch as I disconnect our eye contact to look at the waiter.

“Please give my sincere apologies to the chef, but uh—I won’t be eating these.”

“No problem, ma’am. Is there something I can bring you instead?” The smile on the waiter’s face has me easily returning the gesture.

“If it’s no trouble, I would love a salad basic, please,” I say.

“Coming right up.” With that, the waiter walks away, and my eyes return to Kaeden, whose smile shows in his gaze.

“My bad. Next time, we’ll keep it—”

“Basic. I enjoy basic food and not the ritzy stuff you—”

“Nah. I grew up on beanies and weenies, so I ain’t about that life either. I was trying to impress you with those oysters though.”

Laughter escapes my mouth as I look at Kaeden, smirking as I shake my head because men are crazy. Ending my humor, I give Kaeden a future tip because oysters will never be a delicacy worth impressing me.

“Mhm. Next time, don’t waste the money. Anyway, I’ve missed—”

“I’ve missed y—”

“Mica. I was gonna say Mica.” I giggle when Kaeden’s smile drops and a frown forms.

“Wow. Ain’t this some shit. A nigga tries to set up a romantic night for him and his lady—”

“Oh, wait. I might like the sound of being your—”

“Tuh. I’m glad you’re catching up with something I’ve known since our first outing.”

A schoolgirl grin forms, and my chest feels lighter hearing Kaeden’s statement because denying that I’m enjoying whatever we’re doing would be futile.

“Now that we have that out of the way. How have you been? On some straight simp shit, I’ve missed the fuck outta you, Kyelle. Talking to you doesn’t compare to the withdrawals I’ve been having from not seeing you. We’ll have to figure out a plan that allows me to lay eyes on you daily.”

It takes me a minute to gather my wits from the deadpan tone and the sincere adoration shining in Kaeden’s eyes.

My heart rhythm is out of sync, and only a defibrillator could get it beating normally as I get lost in the words in Kaeden’s eyes that he isn’t speaking verbally.

My thighs are clenching tight as I mentally pray the vibration I’m feeling isn’t detectable to Kaeden.

“How do you suggest we work around your hectic schedule?”

“Hm. How bendable are you? I might be able to sneak you in my duffel bag for practice and game days.”

Laughter shoots out of my mouth like a waterfall as Kaeden’s lips tilt and his eyes twinkle in merriment.
