Chapter 8
CHAPTER EIGHT
OWEN
While I would have been fine waiting the full six weeks, it was amazing being so close to Janie again. The fact that she enjoyed going down on me so much that she was soaked by the time I pulled her to my mouth made me want to beat my chest. She was mine and I was never letting her go again. I asked her several times over the next couple of weeks if she was happy and if there was anything else she wanted to do. She told me that she loved being able to work with me and be home with Michaela. We had a couple of local girls apply for the job but none of them had been a good fit. I also wasn’t having one of the girls that liked to torment Janie by trying to flirt with me in school in a position to do it daily so when she agreed to work with me, I was relieved.
I had gone into town to pick up groceries and some things for the baby. Driving back home I thought about how much I was looking forward to the wedding. We were having a small service at the lodge in a couple of weeks. She had decided she didn’t want to wait until Valentines Day which was fine with me. When I pulled up and saw an unfamiliar car I hopped out and went inside to find Mandy Calvert standing in my living room being hateful to my girl.
“I thought you were gone for good. If you had just stayed away, it would be me in this house with Owen. You were never good enough for him.” She spewed her hateful words at my girl, and I started to say something, but she gave me a pointed look before walking out of the room. “That’s right, pack up and get out.”
“What the fuck are you doing in my house?” I was so angry I was seething. “Who the hell do you think you are to talk to my fiancée and the mother of my child like that?”
She stepped back her face blanched at my words. I have never come so close to striking a woman in my life, but I would not tolerate this level of disrespect towards the woman I loved.
“Let me be as clear as I can. You never had a chance with me. I have only ever loved one woman, and it has always been Mary Jane Saunders soon to be Mary Jane Weston. She and my daughter Michaela are my whole world. I had better never see you step foot on my property again or I’ll have you arrested for trespassing.” I was furious and I wanted to go wrap my arms around Janie and reassure her that I loved only her. I started to say something else when she came out of the bedroom with our daughter.
“Do you see this precious little girl, our daughter created in love. This is something you will never have. We are a family, and we will be married in two weeks. If you ever come near my husband again, I will lay you out.” Janie walked over handed me our daughter and opened the front door. “Get the fuck out of my house before I drag you by your bleached blonde hair and toss you out.”
“You bitch, you think you are so special, but you will never be anything now. Just a little mountain housewife and mother.” She hissed as she was walking to the door.
“I’m his wife, her mother and I work for the family business, so I am happy with my life. You will never be anything but a bitter, vindictive, gold digger.” She slammed the door as soon as Mandy cleared the threshold. “Damn that felt good. I have always hated her. She used to watch you in school all the time and the only thing that kept me from clawing her eyes out was the fact that you never noticed her.”
I had our daughter on my shoulder supported with one hand and with the other I wrapped my hand around her neck and pulled her in for a kiss. I ate at her mouth until she moaned. She looked at me with our girl and just smiled. It was the most beautiful thing ever.
“Seeing you go toe to toe with her and claim me like that was one of the sexiest things I have ever seen. You’re right I am your husband in every sense except legally and we will be taking care of that in two weeks.” I told her as I kissed her nose and her lips again. “You are mine and don’t you ever forget it.”
“I need to go get a dress for the wedding. My mom is supposed to pick me up in about half an hour. I pumped and there are some bottles prepared in the fridge for her. I have been giving her a bottle at least twice a day to get her used to them so you can feed her too.” She said as she kissed our daughter on the forehead. “I know it will be small but it’s the only wedding I’m ever going to have so I want to look the part.”
“I have my tux from my buddy’s wedding a couple of months ago. I can wear that. You get what you want sweetheart.” I told her as I watched her walk out to her mom’s car. “Be safe and have fun.”
