Chapter 9

CHAPTER NINE

SHAE

After having another romp before we finally passed out, we cleaned up and got dressed. As much as I’d love to sleep naked with him, we knew the fire would die out eventually with nobody tending to it.

Since the furnace wasn’t working, we ended up passing out together on the sofa, tangled up in a mess of limbs and blankets. I was sleeping better than I had in ages when I was harshly awakened.

“What the hell?”

Our heads both popped up, but he wrapped his arms tighter and as I looked in his eyes, I remembered what we said. No secrets, no lies.

“Hey Jenna,” I said like nothing was weird.

Billy stood in the door with a shit-eating grin as Jenna, who looked like Dean with more delicate features and longer hair, stood with her hands on her hips. “What’s this?”

Dean said, “You gonna close the door? It’s fucking freezing.”

I sat up, my legs still tangled up with his and pulled my hair tie out to fix my wild locks into another messy bun. Between all the fun stuff and sleeping, it was all over the place.

Dean stood and put his hand out. My stomach was doing flips, but it was more from excitement than nerves from what Jenna would say. I took his hand and stood with him.

He smiled down at me as he held me close. “Jenna, we both love you and hope you can understand, but we’re together.”

Jenna’s mouth fell open, but Billy came over and offered Dean a high five. “Fuck yeah, man.”

Jenna dropped her bag finally and walked over to us. I held onto Dean tighter as if she was going to attack me or something. Instead, a huge smile spread over her face, and she practically jumped into our arms. “Well, it’s about damn time, you two!”

I pulled back and looked at her in shock. “Wait, you knew we liked each other?”

“Do I look stupid to you? You both have only crushed on each other for like, ever! It feels like we all finally addressed the elephant in the room!”

Dean mock scowled. “Why didn’t you say anything?”

Jenna shrugged. “Probably wouldn’t have been as fun.”

Chuckling, I leaned into Dean and his arms tightened around me. Looking up at him, not even fighting the cheesy grin on my face, I said, “It was pretty fun.”

Dean pressed a kiss to my temple then said softly into my ear, “The fun is only beginning.”

The End for now.
