Epilogue Noah
“You’re not normally here without your crew,” Hailey stated as she took the barstool beside me.
“No, I’m not.” I shrugged and watched the front door of the only other bar in town besides the Brewery where Hailey worked. “Shouldn’t you be working tonight?” I grumbled at her.
“Patience took my shift since I covered her while she was out, so I thought I would come out tonight instead of sitting at home alone.”
“So you could drink at a bar alone?” I scoffed and took a sip of the beer that I didn’t really want while I waited for the person I was looking for to show up.
I watched as another guy from town walked through the door. His eyes scanned the bar, but I dismissed him. “I never said I was going to be alone.” Hailey’s words brought my attention to her as she slid off the stool.
My gaze roamed over her tight lithe body in the jeans that may as well have been painted on. Her boots went damn near to her knees accentuating her height and legs. The maroon sweater pulled tight across her breasts, leaving the shape of her body on full display.
The guy that I’d dismissed when he walked in came up to her, his arms going around her in a friendly hug. “Hailey.”
Fuck.
I wanted to yank his arms away from her. I wanted to rip him to fucking shreds for daring to touch her.
“Hey, Tony.” She smiled up at him sweetly and turned to grab the drink she’d set down beside me. “Let’s go grab a table.” She nodded toward the group of pool tables that were toward the back of the bar. “See you later, Noah.”
Hailey walked away with the douchebag, Tony, as I sat there seething at the thought of them together. I drained what was left of my beer and scanned the bar, purposely ignoring the pool tables in the back.
My eyes hit on my target who had come in when I was distracted by Hailey and her date. I clenched my jaw painfully as I walked away from her and toward the person I came to meet… Grant . He’d messed with one of mine, and now he had to pay for it.
