Chapter 13 #2
“Oh you’re pouting now?” He was way too amused with this scenario but decided to put me out of my misery, reaching for my hand and sliding the ring on.
“Marry me, Ky. I’m not rushing it, so it’s whenever the time is right.
I just want this on your hand at all times so it’s a constant reminder of how I feel, where I stand, and where this is going. ”
I leaned down, pressing my chest to his, speaking against his lips. “Still not a question, but yes.”
“You’re a damn trip.”
“But you knew that already and still put a ring on it.”
“Indeed.”
I sat at dinner with Asim across from me.
Our bungalow had a private deck on the side and lined with tiny lights which created a dim glow.
Just enough to expose the light from the moon above us.
We were alone; so the night was still with the exception of our movement and conversation and the lull of the waves from the ocean.
This was the type of heaven I could enjoy forever with no regrets.
And then there was the gorgeous being whose cologne and body were challenging my will to eat and not be eaten.
He smiled with low eyes but for a long moment he didn’t speak.
The way he seemed obsessed with everything about me was intoxicating.
I could feel it from the way his intense gaze lingered.
“You’re all I need.”
My cheeks hiked and my regard lowered to the ring on my finger, which had my smile growing wider by the second. “I hope so. This kinda seals the deal. I’m all you get.”
His laugh was beautiful—deep, husky, and loose in a way that expressed the carefree demeanor he’d carried since we got here. “So you’re enforcing rules already and we haven’t signed on the dotted line?”
I frowned. “I’ve been enforcing rules since the first time we were intimate.”
“Good, because I have too, but that’s not what this is about. I’m just sitting here thinking about how simple my life is with you and I’m okay with it being like this forever.”
“Simple?”
“Yes, simple. No matter what women think, most men are okay with the idea of being with one woman?—”
I sucked my teeth at the same time my eyes rolled, which made him laugh again.
“You can keep all the dramatics because I’m speaking the truth.
Men are easy. We want attention—emotional and physical—so we know we matter, to be respected, and to feel valued.
For most men, if we can find that in one woman, then we’ll rock with her and never consider fucking up a good thing. ”
“And some men are just too greedy to respect a woman who provides and meets all of a man’s needs.”
He smirked and nodded. “True, but when it all comes down to it, juggling women is expensive and exhausting as hell. A real man needs the assurance that there’s someone who, beyond anything chaotic in his life, will be his peace.
Speaking for myself only, I have a lot of shit I deal with and knowing that I can leave it at the door when I come home and get lost in you allows me to carry the weight placed on my shoulders.
That’s worth way more than the ability to rotate between a different set of legs just because I can. ”
“Because you can?” My brow raised and his smile spread.
“Yes, because I can. Being with one woman is a choice, one I make without hesitation. So I can say with certainty, you are all I need, Kyori.”
This man was beyond handsome, intelligent, sprinkled with the right amount of arrogance, sexy, and mine. I sat across from him, drowning in his affirmation of commitment to me and only me. As much as I knew it was, this moment didn’t feel real.
“You’re good at this.”
“This is not an act if that’s what you’re insinuating. I don’t say shit I don’t mean, ever.”
“Time will tell.”
Asim laughed, lowering his eyes to mine.
“You already have months of proof, which I’m sure you’ve taken into consideration.
But if you need more time to validate that I’m a man of my word, then take all the time you need.
As long as you know that this…” he used a finger to point between the two of us before continuing, “is a done deal.”
“But you just said I was making demands before we signed on the dotted line, doesn’t that apply to you also?”
“The same way you began enforcing shit when you let me in, I began enforcing shit the minute I was allowed in. It goes both ways.”
My phone vibrated with a notification and I glanced at it, rolling my eyes when I realized it was a like and comment from Instagram. “Your fan club is on the prowl.”
His eyes went tight until I lifted my phone and checked the actual message, reading it out loud.
“Congratulations to you both, I wish you the best. Oh and we got heart eye emojis too. Impressive.” My eyes rolled when I pushed my phone across the table toward him so he could read Steph’s comment.
She popped up every now and then, liking and commenting on my posts about Asim.
I was sure she knew better than to take it any further than that but she wanted to be seen which I thought was desperate and funny as hell.
Her calls, texts, and tagging him in posts had long since stopped so I wasn’t worried about her.
Asim locked my phone and kept it next to him.
Oddly enough, I didn’t mind. Even if I posted a hundred thousand pictures since we had been here, aside from a few texts in my group chat with Esha and Learah and a few check-ins with Bre to inform me that my parents were having the time of their lives and working her last nerve, I was totally removed from giving my attention to anyone but Asim and it felt really good.
“Yet another person who wants to be where you are but can’t. Don’t let it fuck up your vibe.”
I shrugged, lifting my drink. “I’m not. I think it’s cute that she adores me from afar. As long as she continues to understand that distance is the only thing keeping her from receiving these hands, then it’s all love.”
His laugh was laced with arrogance. “I’m all yours, Ky. That’s the only love you need to focus on.”
After tossing back the remainder of his drink, Asim scanned the table then leveled his eyes with mine. “Are we done here?”
“Yes, so now what?”
“That’s up to you. This is your birthday trip, I’m at your disposal. My only goal is to make this perfect.”
“It is perfect.”
“Then mission accomplished but the night still belongs to you. Pick your poison.”
“You.”
“Me?”
I lifted from my seat and glided over to him, pushing his legs open before I kneeled between them. “I think I should thank you properly… for all of this.”
Asim’s eyes narrowed into a squint. The late hour mixed with the alcohol he had consumed had them a lot lower than normal and it was sexy. Everything about him was.
“You’ve thanked me, Ky, and quite graciously I might add.
” His face opened into a smile but even it was subdued by the drinks in his system.
He was right, we had explored each other’s bodies more here than I was positive we had in the months we’d been together.
I felt him in every inch of my being, but right now, I wanted to please him, right here in the open with the ocean as a backdrop and the dim lights of the tiki torches while the moon hovered above us.
“Yep, and I want to do it again, so…” He watched as I busied my hands, freeing him from his shorts. I couldn’t help but smile at the sight before me. His length and width were impressive and just the thought of what he knew was to come had him at full capacity.
“We can take this inside….shit…gotdamn.”
I had no intention of waiting. We were on a secluded private island. The only people who could possibly interrupt were the service staff, and since dinner had long since been delivered, they wouldn’t return to clear the table until we were gone.
When my mouth objected to his request to head inside, Asim no longer put up a fight.
While my hands rotated around the base and my tongue swiped up and down his length, I worked on the pressure of my lips as they glided across his fullness.
It was hard and his width created a struggle I was now used to.
The feel of his fingers massaging my scalp while he worked up a steady pace of deliberate strokes had me motivated, but when I lifted my eyes to find his low and focused on me, I felt a surge rush through me.
My head bobbed while I took in as much as I could.
“Ky, shit, baby…” he growled, damn near lifting from the seat.
With every thrust he pushed upward, sending himself further down my throat.
I had to focus hard so my movements didn’t falter.
I continued using both palms with alternating pressure while my mouth suctioned above them and my tongue created a rhythm of its own.
It didn’t take long for his hands to grip the arms of the chair, his eyes shut tightly and the movement of his hips became more aggressive and erratic.
“Fuck…”
His hand went to my head for his final stroke while I fisted him at the base with so much pressure that my fingers ached.
He throbbed against my tongue while he released thick and heavy until I drained the last of it.
I gave him time to recover before I got up, tucking him back into his shorts, eliciting a deep scowl on his face.
“What are you doing?”
“I told you, this was your thank you.” When I eased into his lap, Asim kissed my shoulder and closed me in his arms. He still harbored the spicy, woodsy citrus scent I had fallen in love with. It was faint but still clung to his skin and clothes, so I inhaled deeply to embrace more of him.
“So that’s it then? What if I want to return the favor?”
I snuggled next to his chest as if there was the ability to get closer, but I needed all of this man, every chance I could get.
“You can later, right now I only want to sit here with you like this.” My head rested against his shoulder, and when I felt those full lips graze my forehead, ending with a kiss, I smiled.
“You’re all I need too; you know that, right?”
I felt the vibration of his muffled laugh through his chest before the words left his lips. “Yeah, baby, I know.”
My body somehow relaxed even more and my eyes closed, allowing me to fully embrace the moment. This was my life now and it was damn sure a good one.
