Chapter 16 #2
Though I laughed, I didn’t find a damn thing funny. Had Luca mentioned the issue beforehand, I would’ve clipped his toenails a long time ago. They were so long that it looked as if they hurt.
“Why haven’t you said anything?”
“I’m saying something now.”
“You can be a real a-hole sometimes,” I sneered.
“You love it, Ever.”
“I do.”
There wasn’t any denying it. Though we hadn’t actually said the words to one another, we both knew exactly what it was between us.
I was waiting for the perfect moment though I wasn’t exactly sure what Luca was waiting for, but he showed me way better than his words ever could vocalize.
It shined through his actions when it came to me and our girls.
I hadn’t given it much thought but when I did, I was reminded that it was Lyric who always told him and Laike that she loved them. They always replied the same thing. It was never changing.
“Always,” they’d shout back at her after she’d admitted to loving them dearly.
I thought it was the cutest thing. One by one, I clipped his toenails so that he could finally get some relief. I instructed Essence on how to do the same. We then cut his cuticles and removed the buildup around them. Once we’d used all the sharp utensils, it was Emorey’s turn to join the party.
After, I sat next to Luca while watching the girls make a mess of his at-home pedicure station.
We’d brought the works, and they used every single product on his feet.
I could admit that he probably needed it.
He hadn’t had any foot care for over eight years.
His toes were in need of some love and care.
When it was finally time to empty the water, all I could do was laugh.
It was full of lotions, scrubs, oils, and everything in between.
The gunky, discolored mixture looked like it would’ve stunk but it smelled pretty good.
Luca had been forced to lay back while the girls started his facial while I handled emptying the bowl.
He’s a good one , I thought as I left them to their madness.
Though facials were supposed to be a relaxing time, his would be everything but.
With Emorey and Essence fighting over his head, I was certain the cucumbers they’d put on his eyes would be coming off soon for him to fuss a tad bit to get the girls to cooperate.
I made my way to the kitchen sink and emptied the water from the new pedicure bowl we’d purchased. As I stood there, looking around Luca’s kitchen, I couldn’t help but consider just how blessed my girls and I were. In a month’s time, we’d gone from scarcity to abundance.
And in the last nearly three months of being with Luca, we’d been showered with so much love from him that my only real job in our relationship was reciprocating what he was producing.
I’d dreamed of a better situation for Emorey and Essence, and we’d been placed in one the minute we touched down in Channing.
From Lyric to my mother to Mrs. Einsenberg to Luca, everyone had our best interest at heart and worked together to make our lives a breeze.
“Thank you, God.” My emotions led me to say.
Because my deed was done and I hadn’t approved the facial the girls were giving Luca, I made my way upstairs.
While on my way, I ended up passing by the new set of supplies Luca had bought for the dog’s room.
I still wasn’t convinced that a dog was a good idea, but I wouldn’t have to deal with it much so I wasn’t complaining.
In three weeks, he’d be leaving training and coming to live with Luca.
The only time I’d see him was when I came over, and I was already considering how much less I’d visit.
Decompressing was heavy on my heart as I made it to Luca’s bedroom and laid across his bed.
Naturally, my hand went to my belly and began making circular movements.
We hadn’t confirmed my pregnancy but my cycle still hadn’t shown up to the party.
I found myself a little more tired than usual, and my irritability was at an all-time high.
It was obvious to both Luca and me. But until we knew for sure, we weren’t sharing the news with anyone.
“Hey,” I heard Luca call out as I batted my eyes, trying to adjust to the darkness that surrounded me. Exhaustion had worn me down, and I’d fallen asleep in the same position.
“Hey,” I stirred, wiping my eyes as I sat up, “what time is it?”
“It’s after ten.”
“Oh wow. I need to get the girls ready for bed. Essence has her first day of school tomorrow.”
“I know. They’re already in bed and resting. We even picked out her first day of school fit. If you ask me, my baby is about to be the flyest first grader in that bitch.”
My baby . Hearing him constantly refer to the girls as his tore away at my emotions every time. I’d longed for this type of love for my girls. Though I gave them plenty, they needed a father, and Luca had been stepping up to the plate since before he even got to meet them.
“Let you tell it, your baby is the flyest first grader of all the lands.”
“Do we have a hater in the house?” Luca asked, pulling the covers back for us to lie underneath.
“No. Just stating facts. For the record, I think she’s the flyest first grader, too.”
“Then we can agree on something.”
“Ummm hmmmm.”
“How are you feeling, mommas?” Luca’s tone changed, making it obvious that he was referring to my possible pregnancy. He was aware of the loss of Dylan and wanted to make sure that it didn’t happen again, although I’d had two healthy children since.
“I’m fine. I was tired earlier when I came upstairs but now I’m fine.”
“Come ’ere,” he demanded after he’d slid into bed.
I’d rubbed off on him something awful. Just like me, he wanted to feel my skin against his every chance that he got. At the most random moments, I’d feel his hands caressing me or his skin brushing against mine.
Instead of getting in bed beside Luca, I climbed on top of him. My hormones were raging, and I wanted him inside of me immediately. The bulge in his briefs wasn’t a surprise and neither was his hard dick when I removed it and it sprang to life. It popped me right on the stomach.
“He misses me.”
“We both do,” Luca responded.
I leaned forward and allowed the spit to fall from my mouth and onto the head of his dick.
My precision was always commendable when lubricating his rigidness.
I lifted the big t-shirt that I wore of his and clutched the extra fabric in my hand.
Luca’s dick penetrated my pussy with ease, proving what I’d said time and time again.
He was made for me. My body was carved and contoured to match his perfectly.
“Ummmmmmmmmm.”
Simultaneously, we sighed as I rested on my throne. My pussy was dripping and ready to milk Luca for every drop of nut that he had. I wouldn’t cut him loose until he begged me to and, being that he could go at least two rounds, I knew I had to work my ass off to make that happen.
Luca removed the shirt from over my head, leaving me in the nude as he massaged my tender breasts.
I’d always loved them but it seemed as if Luca loved them even more.
There wasn’t a part of my body that he didn’t love.
He reminded me of that every day when he slid into me, showered with me, or volunteered to oil my body from head to toe.
“Ride this dick, Ever,” Luca encouraged, knowing it was exactly what I planned to do.
“Lemonade or water?” Luca entered the kitchen with a bottle of water in one hand and lemonade in the other.
“Water.” The choice was easy.
We’d dropped the children off at school and had come to the bakery for me to put the final touches on a client’s cake.
It was Essence’s first day so we were all on a natural high.
I wanted to head to the bakery to finish up while I had the energy and time.
There were a few minor details that still needed to be addressed, but for the most part, everything was complete.
I couldn’t be happier with the results. When my customer picked up her cake in a few minutes, she'd be the first to visit the storefront.
“You need any help back here?”
“Of course I don’t, Luca. But thanks for asking, babe.”
Making my cakes was the one thing that required solitude. It was my thing. The thing that I didn’t need help with. The thing that truly allowed me to swim in my independence. So, it was therapy for me watching the cake transform from simple batter into a masterpiece.
“You think I’ma fuck your shit up, huh?”
“Never really even thought about it. This is just my sweet spot. It’s the only place I can practice my independence, which has been a huge part of my healing. I’m at peace when I’m here, which really has nothing to do with you messing up my cakes. I’m sure you would, though.”
“Whatever. I’m about to be in the girls’ room watching some shit on TV. If you need me, just holler.”
Before he could step out, the bell out front rang. Both of our brows furrowed in confusion. Neither of us was expecting anyone just yet. My customer wasn’t coming for another few minutes. Without hesitation, he removed his gun from his waist and held his hand up for me to stay put.
“We have cameras, baby.” I reminded him of the system he’d had installed.
Relief washed over his face completely as we both turned toward the split screens that were in the kitchen where I’d always be able to see them. Seeing the skinny middle finger with the long, elegantly designed nail attached made me chuckle a bit.
“Of course.” I sighed with a shake of my head.
“Only Lyric’s ass,” Luca said even though we were both thinking the same thing.
“Please go let your sister in before she has both of our heads.”
Luca didn’t protest. He headed up front to open the door for Lyric. She’d been complaining about not seeing the girls and me as often, so she popped up on us whenever she got the chance. I missed her too. The four weeks that we’d lived together were unforgettable.
