Chapter 36

Iwake up tied to a goddamn chair, and I’m instantly pissed. I fucking told them not to restrain me, and that I wasn’t fighting them. It’s not a surprise that this day came. After all, I killed the one fucker that knew who I was and, I guess, the lawyer story was true.

“Explain.”

I glance up at Bones Bonetti, staring at me with a furious glare.

“Hello, brother,” I say with a bitter laugh.

He steps closer to me and hangs his head down.

“Who the fuck are you, and why do you have my brother’s face?”

“Raven Bonetti. That’s all you’re getting, until I see Bianca with my own eyes. If she’s hurt, you’ll never get another word out of me. You can watch while I skin your famiglia alive.”

“Just look at him,” Kage says, as he brings Reaper over to me. The man, that was born on the same fucking day as me, looks at me with his head tilted, as he drags his fingers down his face.

He tilts his head from one side to the other, staring at me with utter confusion.

“Who’s your mother?” He finally says.

“Sophia Bianchi.”

All four of them stumble back, like I hit them in the gut. I’m guessing they didn’t believe whatever they were told about my bloodline. Yet you’d think my identical looks to one of them would’ve made it more convincing.

Bones says, “And your father?”

“Lorenzo Bonetti,” I respond, with a smirk on my face. I wasn’t going to tell them anything, but this is fun. I watch them as all the pieces slide into place, and they figure it out for themselves.

“No,” Bones says, refusing to believe it.

“Yes,” I say with a wide grin on my face. This might be more fun than killing these assholes. All four brothers stare at each other with disbelief.

“No,” Psycho says. “He had a lot of secrets, but not this. Padre wouldn’t have-”

He cuts off his sentence like it’s too vile to speak, so I help the oldest Bonetti out.

“Fucking the enemy? That’s exactly what he did. Have you figured out my birthday yet?”

Bones says, “The same as Reaper’s, if your birth certificate isn’t fraudulent.”

“It’s not. Padre had two bitches pregnant at the same time.”

I’m not surprised when Bones charges for me, and punches me in the jaw. My head falls back from the impact.

“Do not call my mother a bitch.”

I’ve been working behind my back to get out of the zip ties, and once I do, I rise from the chair and show my hands with a snicker.

“How the fuck?” Psycho blurts out.

I look around and spot the exit to the barn I’m in, making my way for it. Throwing over my shoulder, I say, “I guess you didn’t do your research. They don’t call me Houdini for nothing.”

Grabbing my phone from my pocket, I pull up the tracker to locate Bianca. Bones appears beside me and scratches his head.

“We aren’t done here. I have questions.”

I turn to him and show him my phone.

“If you don’t have my girl, someone else does. After I find her, I’ll answer every goddamn question you have. You have a wife, right?”

He swallows hard and nods.

“Then you understand that nothing, and I mean fucking nothing, is going to get done before I fucking find her. You’ve taken enough of my time.”

Bones glances at his brothers and shrugs.

“We’ll go with you. I can’t take my eyes off you, until we figure out if you’re a threat. You’ll get your girl and we’ll get our answers.”

I don’t have a car, so I don’t have many options. As long as I find Bianca, nothing else matters.

“Whatever. You can drive.”

We walk over to their Escalade, and Psycho opens the door.

“The twins can sit there.” He points to the middle row of seats.

“Kage and I will get in the back, so we can keep an eye on him.”

Reaper gets in beside me, and I don’t think he has taken his eyes off me.

“You look like me.”

I roll my eyes at the man stating the very fucking obvious.

“Thank you for stating the obvious, Hellen Keller.”

Luckily, he’s quiet for a few minutes, as I yell out to Bones the directions to where her tracker is showing she is.

“You have a tracker on your girl too? Where is it?”

“In her IUD,” I answer, just because I don’t think he’ll stop asking until I answer.

“Jesus,” Kage and Psycho say in unison.

Reaper leans forward, staring at me like I hung the fucking moon.

“It’s in her pussy? That’s fucking genius. Nobody is going to find that unless they yank it out.”

“Turn left,” I yell to Bones.

“It’s a fucking field,” he complains.

If I had a gun right now, I’d fucking shoot him.

“I don’t care what it is. That’s where the tracker says she is, so that’s where we’re going.”

He drives into the field and quickly stops.

“We aren’t driving up to her, because we don’t know what we’re getting into.”

Psycho grumbles as he opens the door.

“We aren’t helping this fucker with his trouble. He’s on his own until we find out if he even lives.”

I get out, ignoring him, and follow the direction that the tracker shows. My look-a-like walks beside me, watching my phone screen. Psycho barks, “Reaper, you’re with us.”

He ignores Psycho, and says, “I’ll help if you need me to.”

“Your brothers won’t like that,” I say and he shrugs.

“I’ve never done as I’m told. Why start now?”

It’s a little fucking weird having my clone walk beside me. We really could be twins. Obviously, we both favor our father. The only real obvious difference is that I’m a little taller than he is, and my face is shaved clean, whereas he has a short beard and mustache.
