Epilogue

SUNSHINE

I didn't want to do anything but breed my mate, over and over again, and she agreed.

The day and night cycles blurred together into one long mating fest, broken up with moments of laughter, eating, and sleeping, only to wake up so that I could take her again and again.

We didn't leave her chamber for days, not until one of the human women pounded on the door, and Lyssa opened it to talk to her.

"Our presence has been requested," Lyssa said, yawning as she stretched her arms up in the air, the thick lines of her body on full display, my mating saliva covering her body, marking her with shimmering trails.

"Sara wants to wake up something called an experimental unit, and she wants backup in case something goes wrong. "

"Then we will help our fellow unit," I said. My family had changed, expanded to include all the humans and other freed units on board. We were in this together.

"Friend, not unit," Lyssa said with a smile.

"Then we will help our friend," I said.
