CHAPTER TEN

Amity

Clem was making something in the kitchen. I could smell it from the bedroom. The cabin was warm, so the power must have come back on some time during the night.

I sat up, feeling slightly lightheaded, before I looked down to see she’d left clothes for me on the end of the bed. My heart pitter-pattered at that. It was such a simple gesture, but the fact that she left them out for me, it meant a lot.

I reached over to the pile and slowly pulled the clothes on. My legs were sore, achey, as if I’d worked out at the gym for a week straight, but my body felt good.

Really good.

I felt like I could walk on water, that’s how light I was.

Shuffling out of the bedroom, I moved into the kitchen to find Clem cooking up a feast.

“The power came back on, I take it.”

Clem turned around, a mischievous grin on her face. “Uh yeah, not sure when, but it looks like the storm is clearing out.”

I looked out the windows to see blue skies with a slight grey cloud hovering over the water.

Reality check.

“Wow, you’re right.”

Clem bristled a little. “Come, have breakfast with me before we go over to assess your family’s cabin, yeah?”

I nodded, almost like I was on auto-pilot. I’d been so swept up in the heat of the night and the storm, I hadn’t stopped to consider what was going to happen once the storm cleared.

Was this just some naughty fling between us? Surely, she wasn’t going to tell AP about us. It would damage their relationship, and I would hate myself for that.

I looked down at the smorgasbord of food on the table. It was enough to feed an army.

“Uhhh…Clem?”

“Look, I wanted waffles, then I remembered you didn’t like waffles so I decided to cook you maple bacon, then I remembered you also liked chilli scrambled eggs, and then I decided to add in the pancakes.”

“It’s okay,” I said, chuckling. “Thank you. It smells amazing.”

Clem nodded, relaxing a little as we dug into the feast. After a while, the silence got a little too real and I saw Clem fidgeting with her waffle.

“What’s up?” I asked, already dreading what it could possibly be.

“About last night…”

Here it comes. The cold harsh light of the day…and immediate regret.

“It’s okay, Clem. You don’t have to say it. I knew it was because of the intensity of the storm. We needed comfort, and we sought it with each other.”

“What?” Clem asked, her brows knitting together in confusion. “Amity, what are you talking about?”

“I don’t want to cause shit with AP and you. I get it…you want to let me down easily–”

“Stop that right fucking now,” Clem said, holding her hand up. “I don’t know what you think I was going to say, but it wasn’t to end this…it’s to see how you feel about…maybe going on a date with me. You know…outside of the cabin.”

Surprise flit through me like a bullet. “You…want to take me on a date?”

“I mean…yeah.”

“Oh…”

Clem got up and made it look like she was clearing up, but I could see the rigidness of her shoulders. I did that. I made her uncertain.

Getting up, I moved over to where she was and put my hand on her back, between her shoulder blades. She instantly relaxed under my touch.

“I’m sorry, Clem. I…was scared of the storm clearing and I immediately thought it was something bad. That’s on me. I’ve not had many good things happen to me lately and you were…amazing to me. I thought it was too good to be true.”

Clem turned, and I dropped my hand, as I took in her hurt expression. “I would never discard you like that. Last night was everything to me. I’ve wanted you like that for years, Amity. This isn’t a fling to me…it’s real. I don’t want anyone else. I want you. I want you to be mine.”

The breath caught in my throat as her words hit me right in the feels. “I want that too…”

Clem pulled my arm to her and I slammed up against her chest, her lips finding mine in a heated kiss that had all insecurities flying out of my head as I leaned into the kiss.

The kiss told me everything.

It was a healing kiss.

A commitment to each other kind of kiss.

It was life altering and I needed more of it.

My hands moved down, over the sweatpants waistband and I pulled the lace free, loosening them. Clem shimmied them down her legs until she was free of them. I moved my fingers over her lace covered pussy, feeling her growing arousal there.

Pushing Clem back against the counter, I motioned for her to lift herself up and she did so without hesitation, before I lowered my mouth down her jaw, placing butterfly kisses along her jaw and neck.

Her moans were music to my ears as I kissed down her body.

Clem’s hands went into my hair and guided me where she needed me.

My mouth hovered over her hot lace panties, her arousal soaking into my nostrils and making my pussy flare with life.

Moving the lace panties to reveal what I truly wanted, I licked a path from her core to clit, relishing the sound of her moans as she gripped onto the side of the counter with white knuckles.

“That’s it, baby, taste me,” she groaned, one hand going to the back of my head to steady me as I lapped at her like I was thirsty. “Fuck, you got a good tongue. That’s it, fuck yes, Amity.”

I moved my fingers up over her thighs and down to her hole, before I slid one finger in and hooked it up to reach that spot.

Clem screamed out, her fingers twisting in my hair and pulling but I kept at it, sucking her clit into my mouth and listening to her cries of pleasure as I slid another finger into her.

The result was almost immediate, her pussy strangling my fingers, her hips bucking and her fingers yanking at my hair followed by her guttural cry of release before I felt her come in my mouth.

I licked her clean, smirking as I looked up at her lustful gaze, before I licked again and again, only to freeze when I heard a familiar voice.

“Oh my god!”

My eyes shot to Clem, who was looking ahead, her eyes wide. “AP?”
