36. Noah

Chapter thirty-six

Noah

The big guy and his fear of rats… cats?

~ One Week Later / September ~

I wake up to my favorite warm body pressed to my front.

Her soft purrs have become the thing I look forward to the most when I wake up.

I open my eyes slowly and am instantly mesmerized by the view before me.

Veronica lies on her side, facing away from me, her hand holding onto mine that circles her waist.

Our girl always looks like a goddess, but in these moments when she’s at peace, she’s everything that is beauty.

She’s that feeling of bliss you get when you hold the thing you love the most in the world.

When you’re a kid and you find your favorite plushy after weeks of losing it.

She’s day and night, the sunrise and sunset, she’s the cool summer breeze and the first snowfall.

She’s the star at the top of the Christmas tree lighting up the night and the presents lying under the tree on Christmas morning.

That’s just it. She’s everything.

As I watch her body rise and fall slowly with every breath she takes, it hits me how much our lives have changed since June.

Gabe and I went from bachelors who only ever indulged in one-night stands, never waking up to the same woman twice.

Never having them stay for breakfast or taking them out to dinner.

Never talking or making plans about the future, never keeping them around long enough to know their favorite color or what shampoo they use.

And now, now we have Veronica. A woman we can’t imagine a day going by without. A woman who constantly haunts our minds in the very best way. A woman who’s fighting for us, who’s doing everything she possibly can to make us better. A woman who was afraid to love and now loves us unconditionally.

How could we ever go back when we now hold a piece of paradise?

I delicately remove my other arm from beneath Veronica’s head and lift onto my elbow.

I then use my hand to smooth her hair away from her shoulder and lean in to deliver a gentle kiss to her warm golden skin.

She lets out a happy sigh, her body arching into mine, ass pressing against my morning wood.

“Good morning, beautiful,” I whisper against the shell of her ear as I continue kissing her exposed skin.

“Mmm, this is my favorite way to wake up.” She reaches back with her hand, nails scratching at my scalp.

I grab her hip tightly and grind my erection against her. She moans, head leaning back into me. My fingers leave her hip and slide down between her legs, where I caress her soaking wet pussy a few times.

I twirl the tip of my finger around her clit until she’s jerking into my hand, craving more. Bringing my hand back, I grab the underside of her thigh and lift her leg over mine, then fist my pulsing cock and plunge it deep inside her tight channel.

I groan into her hair as she moans loudly. Pulling out, I slide back in leisurely, taking my time to savor this euphoric feeling between us. I love our morning sex; it’s slow and soft, passionate yet consuming all together.

Thrusting my hips slowly, I reach up and take hold of her jaw, angling it toward me until I can capture her lips with mine. Then we make love with our mouths as I make love to her with my dick.

Our morning sex never lasts long, as if the feeling is too intense to hold back. Within minutes of my soft strokes, her walls are closing in on me, trembling against my length as she begins to writhe against me. Then she’s crying out into my mouth as I swallow every beautiful sound.

Her hand fists what she can of my short hair, hips bucking erratically, pussy leaking onto our thighs. And a few seconds later, I’m coming apart with her, moaning and groaning as my balls tighten, holding her in place as I shoot my cum deep inside her throbbing core.

We’re both panting and gasping for air as we come down from our high. I kiss her shoulder, neck, ear, back of the head, then return to her shoulder. “I love you, Veronica.”

She takes my hand, interlocking our fingers. “I’ll never get tired of hearing that.” She smiles tenderly, then looks over her shoulder at me. “I love you, too, Noah.”

Her eyes shine with so much adoration, my heart squeezes painfully in my chest. I’ll never tire of this feeling. But then something flicks through her mind, and her eyes lose some of their joy.

I turn her to me, brushing her hair behind her ear. “What is it, Kitten?”

She looks down at my chest, where her nails trace patterns over my pecs. “I just wish Gabe was here with us…” she whispers with heartache.

I kiss her forehead. “Soon, love. Let’s just give it another week before we try spending the night together. Things are looking promising, and I don’t think it’s only Blubber. I really think the therapy is helping, too.”

We had our second session all together with Dr. Hallaway yesterday, and by some miracle, she seems to be getting through to Gabe, to all of us.

I understand why Veronica likes her so much, even if my first session alone with her was rough.

I had never had a therapist before, but from what I’ve heard, her methods are very different than most.

Gabe hasn’t had a full nightmare in a week, but that might be more Blubber’s doing. He told us that every time one starts up, Blubber bites him until he jolts out of sleep. His arms are now covered in bite marks and scratches, but at least it’s working.

The day after our first therapy session, we went out to a local shelter and found this little bugger.

A little gray and white male Sphynx with pale blue eyes.

Ronnie and Gabe were instantly smitten with him, and if they could have, they would have brought him home the same day.

But the adoption process took a full week and a house visit before we could finally bring our little guy home, the day after our incident with Julian.

Veronica looks up at me with a sweet smile. “Me too. I can’t wait for us to finally be all together.” She bites her lip. “Do you think we’ll need to get a bigger bed? Or do you want to continue using separate rooms? Maybe we could take down the wall dividing the two but keep two beds?”

I chuckle at the excited yet inquisitive tone to her voice. “Or we could buy a house, or even have one built to our liking?”

She pushes off me, needing to sit up for this conversation. “You’re serious?” Her eyes are wide as she watches my smile bloom.

I sit up next to her, cupping her cheek and kissing her swollen red lips. “Of course, I am. I love the penthouse, but I think a home for the three of us would be a better move. I’d like for us to have our own place, with no previous bed partners. A place we can make ours.”

“I’d really like that. I hate thinking about how many women have been in this bed before me.” She blushes slightly as she admits to her feelings.

I cringe, feeling embarrassed and bad for her. “Sorry about that. We can get a new mattress if you want.”

She waves me off as she stands from the bed, heading to the attached bathroom while I follow her. “Don’t be ridiculous, it’s fine. We’ll just get another one when we move.”

We step into the shower and she turns it on. “You realize this is a big step for us, right?”

An extremely big step if we think about how we’ve technically only been dating for nearly three months. But everything between us three has been moving so quickly, and I know what Gabe and I feel for Veronica is real. So, why wait?

Holy shit, now I get why Silas was so quick to get settled down with Cecilia.

She begins to lather her hair with shampoo, eyes closed, and face angled toward the ceiling. “I do, but I think we’re at that stage. It’s either buying a house or having a baby, and I am not ready for that one just yet.” Good to know she wants this to keep moving forward as well.

She stops moving, opening her eyes and looking intensely at me. “Unless you think you’ll get tired of me at some point and move on.”

I furrow my brows, taking a quick step toward her and bringing her close by the hips. “Absolutely not. Never. You’ve made us yours, Veronica, and that’s forever. Just like we’ve made you ours. Forever.”

She gazes deep into my eyes, comprehension and devotion blazing through hers. “Forever.”

Forty-five minutes later, we’re finally heading down for breakfast, where Gabe waits for us.

Veronica goes up to Gabe, throwing herself in his arms as he catches her with a laugh.

Her legs circle his waist, arms going around his neck as she smacks her lips against his, then pulls away just as quickly.

“Good morning to you, Vixen.” He laughs at her enthusiasm.

“Good morning, Pretty Boy. We’re buying a house!” She beams at him.

His eyes widen with excitement. “We are?” He looks from Veronica to me as I nod. He laughs again, grabbing her by the nape and crushing his mouth to hers. “Fuck yeah, we are!”

Blubber pops out from behind Gabe’s legs and sits by his feet, meowing for attention. Gabe puts Veronica down, and she instantly drops to the floor to cuddle the hairless cat. “Good morning to you, too, Blubs.”

She peppers his head with kisses, and I swear he looks at us smugly every time she does that, as if he’s saying, “Ha-ha, see? She loves me more.”

She lifts him in her arms, cuddling him to her chest. “Did you have a good night’s sleep?

I bet you did. You’re such a good boy keeping Daddy company.

And did you hear the good news? We’re going to have a new home!

Maybe even a big backyard where we’ll be able to let you play in the yard. I’m sure you’ll like that a lot.”

She stretches out her arms, holding him between her hands. “God, aren’t you just the most adorable thing I’ve ever seen? Look at this cute little outfit!” she gushes, looking over the knitted sweater he’s wearing that looks like a tuxedo. “My handsome little boy.”
