14. Chapter 14 #3
The wolf leaned down, one forearm braced beside her on the bench, his mouth near her ear.
He spoke too low for me to hear. She answered.
He nodded. Then he straightened, brought the crop handle to his mouth, and let saliva fall slowly over the rounded end.
It shone under the light. He lowered it again, mixing it with her own slickness, working with almost maddening patience.
Bohdan spoke softly. “Yellow is not an interruption of the scene. It is part of the scene. It tells the dominant where care is required. It allows trust to continue instead of forcing endurance to masquerade as consent.”
Something cold and old moved through me. Forcing endurance to masquerade as consent.
I had built cases around that truth in human language. Victims who went still. Victims who survived by pleasing. Victims whose silence was later dragged into court and called permission by people who knew better and chose not to.
Onstage, the witch’s body began to soften again. The wolf held the handle against her, applying small, steady pressure.
“Color?” he asked.
Her answer came drawn out, breathless. “Green.”
He pressed further. Slow. Careful. Relentless in the way water could be relentless over stone. The witch moaned into the leather. My fingers dug into Maksym’s sleeve. If I left marks on a vampire king’s suit, I hoped it was insured.
The handle disappeared a little more. Her body took it. Her back bowed. One of her feet flexed hard against the restraint, then relaxed.
“Good,” the wolf told her. His voice had dropped, rough and tender. “That’s it.”
Maksym’s thumb moved once over my knuckles. My lips parted. No sound came out.
The wolf kept one hand on the crop, holding it steady, while the other went to the waistband of his loose pants.
I knew what was coming. That did not prepare me.
He pushed the pants down just far enough for his cock to spring free, thick and hard against the dark hair at his groin.
My breath caught audibly.
Maksym heard it. Everyone in the zip code probably heard it, if supernatural hearing was as rude as I suspected.
Heat burned across my chest and up my throat.
Onstage, the wolf positioned himself behind the witch. One hand held the crop handle steady at her back entrance. The other guided himself between her legs. He rubbed the head of his cock through her wetness once, twice, making her hips jerk against the restraints.
“Color?” he asked.
“Green. Please.”
Please. The word left her like a prayer.
He entered her from behind in one slow thrust. The witch cried out. Not pain.
I knew the difference between a cry pulled from terror and one torn out of a body overwhelmed by sensation it had asked for and could stop.
This was not pain.
The wolf stopped once he was seated deep inside her. His head tipped back, throat working. For a moment, all that size, all that power, all that animal strength was held in check by the woman beneath him and the colors she had given him.
My body clenched around nothing.
Bohdan’s voice returned, lower now, threaded with heat. “He gives her fullness at both entrances. The crop remains steady. His body does the moving. She does not have to choose between taking and being taken. She is allowed to receive.”
Allowed to receive. My mouth had gone dry.
The wolf began to move.
Slow at first. His hips withdrew and rolled forward again.
The witch moaned with each thrust, her body shifting against the bench, breasts pressed to leather, hands flexing in restraints.
The crop handle stayed where he held it, a constant pressure while his cock moved in and out of her pussy with increasing force.
He bent over her, his broad body covering hers without crushing. “You’re taking me so well,” he said. “Both of us. Good girl. That’s it. Come for me.”
The witch’s moans broke apart.
Her hips tried to lift. The restraints held her in place, and the bench held the rest of her, and he kept moving, deep and steady, praising her through it.
She came with a cry that made the room inhale.
Her whole body clenched. The muscles in her back stood out. Her thighs shook. The wolf groaned and slowed but did not stop, letting her pulse around him and the crop handle. He gently pulled it free and tossed it aside. But he was not finished.
“I need another one from you. You can do it.”
I made a small, involuntary laugh. Not because it was funny. Because my mind had shorted out.
The idea of one orgasm under those conditions seemed impossible enough. The way Bohdan’s expression suggested the scene had not concluded made some hysterical, disbelieving sound escape me before I could kill it.
Maksym leaned toward my ear. His voice was darker than the room.
“I can promise you that and more.”
Every thought I possessed dropped dead.
I turned my head a fraction. His mouth was close to my ear, his breath cool against skin that felt far too hot. He did not smile. He did not look smug. He looked like a man stating a fact he had considered from several angles and found legally sound.
“Maksym,” I whispered.
I meant it as a warning. It sounded like something else. His eyes lowered to my mouth for one devastating second, then returned to the stage.
The wolf gripped the witch’s hips with both hands and thrust deeper.
She gave a broken sound that might have been protest if not for the way her hips moved back toward him.
He reached around her body, his hand disappearing between her thighs.
His fingers found her clit. I knew the exact moment by the way her entire body jolted.
“There,” he murmured. “Right there. Give it to me.”
He worked her with firm, circling pressure while he fucked her from behind, each thrust driving her against his hand. The witch’s sounds rose. Not pretty now. Not composed. Raw, breathless, helpless by choice and therefore not helpless at all.
My grip on Maksym’s arm became unreasonable. He let me.
The second orgasm took her harder than the first. She detonated.
There was no better word for it. Her head snapped up, mouth open, then dropped again as her body shook so violently the leather cuffs strained.
The wolf held her through it, hips driving once, twice, then burying deep as his own release overtook him.
His face twisted. A low growl rolled out of him, not performative, not human.
He folded over her back, one arm wrapping beneath her chest, the other braced on the bench as he pulsed inside her.
The room remained silent through the first few seconds afterward. Not awkward. Reverent, almost. The wolf pressed his face into the witch’s hair.
“You were perfect,” he murmured. “So good. I’ve got you.”
I heard it because the stage microphones caught enough. Or because Obsidian wanted us to hear that part most of all.
My own breathing had become uneven. My body felt too awake, too full of nerves, too conscious of Maksym’s hand over mine and my fingers wrapped around his arm as if he were the only fixed point in a room that had tilted on its axis.
Onstage, the witch sagged onto the bench, restrained and trembling. The wolf remained bent over her, murmuring into her hair. Bohdan stood in the silver light and said nothing. For once, the commentary had stopped exactly where it should.
The part that undid me was not the sex. That would have been simpler, and I had long ago learned that life rarely did me the courtesy of simplicity.
The wolf withdrew from the witch carefully, one hand braced on her hip, the other still wrapped around her front as if keeping her from returning to gravity too quickly.
She made a small sound when he pulled away, not distress exactly, but aftermath.
Her body had gone loose over the bench. All that earlier authority poured out and replaced by trembling softness.
No one rushed. That struck me first.
