CHAPTER TWENTY-FIVE

SUNLIGHT STREAMS INTO THE ROOM and I groan, not wanting to wake up yet.

My body hurts, but in the most delicious way.

My muscles ache and I’m sure I definitely have a bruise or two.

Fuck, I should have expected Kill to be rough and demanding, but I didn’t think it would make me melt and turn me into a begging, submissive female. I can’t wait for more.

A warm, hard body presses against me and I melt into it. “Good morning, my warrior Queen,” Killian’s sleepy, rough voice rumbles in my ear. “Are you okay? You’re not in too much pain?”

“No, I’m perfect.” I roll toward him, running my thumb along his scarred cheek. “How are you doing?”

“I’ve never been better. Everything feels perfect…” His gaze shutters.

“What’s wrong?” I ask, propping myself up on my elbow.

He sighs. “I’m worried. I was so lost in us that I didn’t think of the consequences of being out of my mind with need for you for three days. What if we are attacked?”

I remember his words from last night, his plan that he somehow managed to concoct while his mind was riddled with need. “Lennox, Roz and Ember will take care of things, and Batsil and my guard will keep things under control,” I remind him, even though the whole situation has me nervous.

His breath shakes. “Right. I need to make sure everything is in order then. As much as I would love to stay here all morning, my mate, I would feel better knowing everyone else knew the plan…” His muscles tense and I know he is starting to stress. My protective male’s instincts are riding him hard.

“Why don’t you let me take away some of your stress before you leave me for the day?” I shift my hips and wince from the soreness.

His beautiful crimson eyes widen. “I don’t want to hurt you; you’re already sore. We should probably draw you a bath. It should ease the aches—”

I kiss him, nipping his lip. “Not me. Let me take care of you. With my mouth. It’s the least I can do…

” My hand trails down his massive, rock-hard body until I reach his sizable cock.

Fuck, I’m glad I didn’t see that beast before he stuffed himself full inside me, yet my body shivers knowing how good he felt.

A low growl rumbles from his throat as I squeeze him. I whisper, “Just to take the edge off to get you through the day.” I slide my hand along his shaft.

He nods, and I shimmy down the bed and settle between his legs so I can watch him as I taste my mate for the first time. His eyes watch me like a predator as my tongue darts out, licking the bead of pre cum that’s waiting for me. A perfect morning treat that gets exponentially better as he groans.

“Ravina,” he breathes. “Fucking Fates,” he growls as I pop the tip of him into my mouth and suck.

He’s fucking huge and there’s no way I can take him too deep, so I use my hands and work his shaft while my tongue swirls around his head. His hips jerk and he weaves his fingers through my hair, holding me still as he slowly pushes himself in and out of my mouth.

“Such a good little warrior,” he grumbles, throwing his head back against the pillow, and it drives me wild knowing I can make this male, my male, come undone. “Do you like sucking your mate’s cock?” he hisses as he picks up the pace.

I moan, the vibrations going right through him. His cock jerks again and I know he’s close.

“Fucking Fates,” he mutters again. “Open wider, I’m going to fill your fucking mouth.”

I try my hardest to fit more of him in my mouth and when the first spurt of cum hits the back of my throat, I swallow, wanting every part of him.

He moans as he finishes and a bit dribbles out of my mouth. His grip loosens on my hair and he pulls me up his body with ease, using his thumb to push the bit that escaped into my mouth. His gaze watching greedily as I suck on his thumb.

“I don’t know how I’m supposed to get anything done knowing my mate is a temptress."

“Isn’t she?” Jesper says, grinning from across the room, leaning against the wall, his eyes watching my lips like he’s hungry.

“Fucking Fates, Jesper,” Killian snaps. He covers me with a sheet, which makes me want to laugh. Jesper has seen every inch of my body and worships it.

Jesper smirks. “Better get used to it, brother. We may have given you last night, but don’t think that one of us won’t be in that bed with you when my Beastie is involved." He pauses. “Happy to finally have you in the bond.”

“Is there a reason you’re interrupting us?” he grumbles getting out of the bed, and I can’t help but stare at his perfectly round—non-hairy—muscular ass. I bite my lip. I’ve never wanted to bite something so much in my life.

Killian tosses me his tunic and I slip it on. The dark, soft fabric is a dress, and I’m absolutely swimming in it, but now that it’s on my body, I don’t want to take it off. It smells like him too, like metal and old books.

“Well, I missed my mate and Nero wanted me to make sure that everything is covered before he swooped in. Plus Geoffrey wanted me to inform you that your citizens are getting restless. Some of them want an audience with their Princess to address their concerns. And someone mentioned something about throwing a ball in honor of having the Pendroko line back on the throne to welcome you home.”

“A ball?” I ask, getting up stiffly and throwing on some pants. “Nero, it’s safe.”

“Oh thank the Fates, I am not in the mood to witness anything from your meat buffet. My eyes must remain innocent after the trauma I went through last night.”

“Trauma? Are you okay? What’s wrong?” Alarm courses through me and a brick drops in my stomach. Jesper is instantly at my side, holding me as he listens in, and Killian has his sword unsheathed ready to do damage.

“Your giant lizard and you had your bonds open while you had your fill of the buffet,” he cries dramatically. “My poor feathers are going grey!”

Vasari chuffs in amusement as she settles in her contentment. “Like you didn’t know how to close the bond.”

“I was in shock!” he defends himself. “Can we go now? I’m hungry and craving some fruit. It’s the least you can do.” He sighs as if he just went through an ordeal.

I burst out laughing and Jesper chuckles. “Yes, let’s go get some food. I am ravenous.”

“You should take a bath, Rav,” Killian states, giving me a pointed look. “I don’t want you to be hurting all day.”

A slow, playful smile stretches across my face. “Oh but I thought you wanted me to feel you all day? And that’s exactly what I plan on doing.”

His eyes heat as he takes a step towards me. I giggle, escaping Jesper’s arms and running towards the bathroom to ready myself for the day.

TALYN AND AEMON are quiet at my side as we enter the throne room.

I’ve been avoiding this area since we arrived here, and I’m not sure why.

Maybe because taking a seat upon that silver-crested throne makes everything that much more real.

Maybe because this was the last room I was in with my parents during the Winter Solstice Ball?

I have no idea, but being here now has my stomach tightening with nerves so badly I feel like I might be sick.

Aemon places his hand on the small of my back. “You don’t have to do this today. They can wait until you’re ready to assume your duties. They went twenty-two years without you. They can wait a few more days.”

“We don’t have a few more days. I wanted to talk about this in person with all of you, but I found out once Killian and I bonded that it would trigger a mating frenzy because Vasari is also fully bonded.

Something about balance within bonds and the course of nature.

We are going to be out of our minds with sex and orgasms. So I don’t think any of us will be doing anything productive during that time.

” I broadcast the thoughts to all my mates, and Killian’s determination to make sure the castle will be locked down solidifies.

Jesper’s excitement blasts through the bond. “This is the best news. Three whole days of worshiping my mate? Sign me up!”

Talyn grabs my hand and turns me toward him. “Are you sure this was the right time? We are in the middle of a war and could be attacked at any moment.”

I shake my head. “I needed to bond with Kill. I wanted to. It may not be the perfect timing and Vasari may have been a bit impatient to bond with Voissor, but tomorrow is never promised. Killian has a plan, it will be okay… Unless you don’t want to?”

His eyes widen in worry. “No, Fates, no. Of course I want to. I’m just worried.” He pulls me in for a quick kiss. “I always want you, princess,” he whispers against my mouth.

“Where did you find this information?” Aemon asks, his eyes calculating.

“The library, in a book about bonds. Cynder should have it, she was curious. Why?” I ask, turning toward him, reaching for his hand.

“Did it say how long you had before this frenzy takes over? I don’t want you around any other male if you’re going to go into some sort of heat.” He growls possessively and suddenly all four of my mates are pushing the urge to hide me away until it has come and gone.

“A few days,” I say to try to calm them. “We have time.”

He nods, crossing his arms and I swear the shadows pulse. “We are going to need to make sure someone we trust is watching the dragons.”

Killian’s voice comes down the bond. “I have Rozen on it. Him and Thornwing will make sure the keep is locked down. Ember and Batsil will rotate keeping watch over the royal wing and Lennox will be overseeing the Royal Guard, who will take care of everything else.”

“See.” I smile. “It will be okay.”
