Twenty-Two
Erin
We have been locked up in the house for three months, and to say I have cabin fever would be an understatement. I groan as I lay my head down on the counter in the kitchen, Chef Oisin looks at me.
“What’s wrong, child?”
“Cabin fever.” I mumble.
“I can imagine so. Here have this,”
he says and slides me a brownie with some ice cream on it.
“Are you trying to fatten me up?”
“Hush, you. Chocolate makes people happy, and you need to be happy,”
“Can’t argue those facts,”
I say, smiling as I take my first bite.
“Mhm.”
“Good?”
“Yes, I swear you could make anything taste good.”
He chuckles, thanking me before going back to whatever he was cooking. As I continue to eat, Kayleigh comes in.
“We’re breaking out of here,”
she says as she flops down in the chair next to me.
“Are we now?”
“Yes. You, Bia, and I are going to the club tonight.”
“But is it safe?”
“We will be going to Liam’s club; plus, you know the men in the family will have more security than if the Queen of England was there.”
“True,”
I say laughing.
“I’m going to grab Bia. Meet me in my room in an hour with whatever outfit you want to wear. FYI, if it isn’t sexy enough. I’m picking you something sexy.”
“Alright. Good luck peeling Bia away from Cillian.”
“Oh, I will fine.”
She smirks as she leaves the room, and I shake my head and finish eating.
“Have fun.”
Chef Oisin says with a smirk.
I chuckle as I walk out of the kitchen.
In my room, I’m standing in the closet moving hangers from side to side, looking for a dress.
I look at a red dress, eww no. Blue, no, too dark. I want Oscar starving for me.
Hmm, ooh I see it. Sexy, short black, strapless dress that stops mid-thigh. I grab that with a pair of heels and head to Kayleigh’s room.
“Knock, knock,” I say.
“Get your ass in here,”
Kayleigh hollers.
“Kayleigh!”
Bia exclaims. I chuckle, Bia is too sweet for her own good. When I get inside, I see Kayleigh is curling Bia’s hair.
“Don’t you look good?”
I say to Bia. She has dark make up on and her hair is up in a high curly ponytail.
“Thanks, I’m not sure I can pull it off. Kayleigh picked out this dress because she said my dress looked like I was going to church.”
“It was knee length and no cleavage,”
Kayleigh says, setting down the brush, then looking over at me.
“Alright, let’s see your dress choice.”
I grab my dress and hold it up against me.
Kayleigh smiles. “Good. Perfect enough to give my brother a rough time.”
She smirks.
“Alright, switch. Bia, get dressed, Erin, sit your ass down.”
Forty minutes later, we are all dressed and walking down the stairs to the front door. As we step off the stairs, I hear a few different voices mumble things like, “Fuck”
and “too damn short.”
I look over to where Cillian is standing toe to toe with Bia and whispering something to her. By the look of her pink cheeks, it must be something dirty. Oscar comes up behind me wrapping his arms arounds around me.
“You need a fucking coat.”
“I will wear one when we get outside.”
“No, while you are in the club.”
I turn around and face him. “Why would I do that? It will be hot in the club.”
“That way horny fuckers keep their eyes off you.”
“You’re being ridiculous.”
“No, I’m not, you look like every man’s wet dream. I’ll just remove every fucker who keeps their eyes on you too long.”
“You cannot do that.”
“Yes, I can and will.”
He says giving me a peck, “Now you behave.”
“I will, and just think. When I get home, you get to peel this off me.”
He growls, “Go before I keep you here.”
I laugh and Oscar helps me put my coat on and gives me one final kiss before I get inside the SUV. Kayleigh is in next after getting a lecture from Peter about safety. Bia is the last one to get in. Cillian and the driver exchange a few words before the driver pulls out of the mansion’s driveway.
“Finally,”
Kayleigh says.
“Did you honestly think it would be easy for us to walk out of the house in these short dresses without the caveman bullshit?”
I ask, raising my eyebrow at her.
“No, I was hoping but I should have known better.”
“It could have been a lot worse,” Bia says.
“Definitely. Looks like you and Cillian had an interesting talk before you left.”
“Uh, yeah,”
she says blushing again.
“Hmm, was it dirty?”
“Eww. Don’t answer that. He is my brother, and I do not want that image in my head.”
Kayleigh cringes.
“So, you’d rather know about Oscar-,”
but Kayleigh throws her hand over my mouth.
“No, Erin, eww.”
“What? I was only going to talk about his piercings.”
“Erin, shut up.”
I only chackle at her face. She looks like she is seconds away from puking.
“I don’t even want to know what is pierced on Oscar.”
I give her a wicked smirk.
“No… don’t...”
Kayleigh says, I can’t help but laugh.
In the VIP lounge, Liam is waiting for us.
“Hello, ladies. This is Sean, he will be your server. He’ll get you whatever you want.”
He motions to the man wearing a tight white shirt, holding a note pad in his hand. “Now please behave, I do not need any of the O’Sullivan men coming in here and dealing with any dumb idiots trying to get your numbers or worse.”
“We can try, but we make no promises.”
Kayleigh says, Liam shakes his head as he walks out of the room.
Sean walks over and asks, “What would you like to start with ladies?”
We give him our orders.
He returns and tells us to buzz him with the button on the table if we need anything else. As we start sipping our drinks, “Alright Kayleigh spill.”
“Spill what?”
“Don’t play dumb with me. I haven’t known you that long but I can tell something has been off with you for a few weeks.”
“Do you have to be so perceptive?”
“Yes, talk.”
“Relentless pain in my ass, no wonder you are my brother’s wife.”
“Still not talking.”
“Fine, I was seeing someone, and I wanted to be certain of whether if I liked him or if it would go anywhere before introducing him to the family.”
“Okay. What happened because obviously, by your mood, something did?”
“Yeah. I found out he was just using me, and he cheated on me.”
“I’m sorry. What?”
She nods, and Bia grabs her hand. “I’m sorry, Kayleigh.”
“Does he have brain damage?”
“No.”
“Then why the fuck would he cheat on you? You’re beautiful, kind, smart as hell with a million other amazing qualities about you.”
“Apparently me not wanting to put out is a green light to cheat.”
“You deserve someone better,”
Bia tells Kayleigh.
“Yeah, you do. Fuck him. I think we need to go burn his car.”
“No, it just sucks because I really liked him.”
“Asshole. So is this to get out of the house or is this a fuck you to him.”
She shrugs maybe both. I chuckle, “Works for me. Come on let’s go dance. I didn’t put this tight as fuck dress on not to shake my ass.”
I grab their hands and drag them to the dance floor. Within a few moments the three of us are dancing. My hands in the air and my head tossed back, I move my hips with the rhythm of the music. Feeling the bass pump through my body.
We dance until we all get thirsty, and we head back to have a drink. Sean has brought us all fresh drinks that are waiting at the table for us.
I get up and immediately start to wobble. “Woah!”
“Erin are you okay?” Bia asks.
“I’m dizzy.”
“Wh-,”
Kayleigh is cut off when blobs grab us.
My mouth doesn’t even open despite how much I want to beg for help. Maybe Oscar was right I should have stayed home.
