Chapter 18

Abel

“Mmm,” I moaned and panted as my beloved sucked on my dick.

He’d done so every day for the past five days, and although I absolutely loved this form of intimacy, I missed sex.

It just wasn’t in the cards for us since I was due in eleven days.

I couldn’t see Marcello. My stomach completely hid him, but I could certainly feel him.

Marcello pulled up and off, and when his head and shoulders popped into view, I smiled at him. “I was close.”

“I know. How open are you to biting in certain areas?” Marcello asked.

My eyes widened. “What?”

Marcello’s hand touched my thigh. “You have a vein right here on your thigh. It calls to me.” His finger slid upward toward my groin. “It runs up to here, and I would love nothing more than to taste you here.” His finger continued to run along my groin until he ran it up my cock.

“No,” I gasped. “You wouldn’t.”

“Not if you say no. But trust me when I say that you would enjoy it. The orgasm would be instant and most likely one of the more intense you’ve had.” Marcello’s eyes moved down to where his fingers were gently rubbing my cock and then widened. “Are you having contractions?”

I glared. “Probably Why? I’ve been feeling waves of something for a while now. I thought maybe it was just because I was so close to giving birth and we were doing this.”

Marcello slid from the bed and quickly pulled on his pants. I made a noise of frustration. “What are you doing?”

“Your line,” he said and pointed. “It was red this morning but hadn’t opened. It’s open. Mostly.” Marcello pulled on his shirt and started buttoning it.

“But…we were talking about you biting. I like it when you bite.” I felt the wave of pressure again and placed my hand on my stomach. Okay, that was probably more than just pressure. That was most likely a contraction.

Marcello grabbed his phone and started touching it. He put the phone on the bed, and I heard it ring.

“Ciao.”

“Rio, it’s Marcello. Abel’s omega line is opening.”

“This is good news,” the warlock doctor said. “How much of it is open? Do you see any heads?”

“Heads? Really?” I asked.

“Yes,” Rio chuckled. “How is the burning sensation? Is it overly painful?”

Things finally clicked. “Ah. So that’s what that feeling was.”

Marcello pulled the sheet up over my lower half and then sat me up. When he did, there was a sudden gush of fluid.

“Oh, that’s…I just ruined the bed,” I said. “Marcello. My waters. The gush.”

“I will be right there,” Rio said just before he ended the call. Marcello pulled a T-shirt over my head.

“Do I really need that?” I asked as there was a knock on the door.

“Yes,” Marcello said. I saw a blur and blinked twice, and Marcello was standing next to me.

“Umm…what just happened?”

“I answered the door.”

Rio and Mazzi walked in, Rio giving me an encouraging smile. Mazzi raised his arms over his head and did a funny spin. “I’m here,” Mazzi said. “Naldo has Tulio and is going to go to Master Vincent’s office to let him know you are in labor. Or wherever it was that Master Vincent is.”

I laughed, but it quickly turned into a moan of pain. “Okay. That one actually hurt that time. And now I feel that burning feeling. That’s no fun.” I glanced down at my stomach. “And I’m still leaking everywhere.” I looked up at Marcello. “I’ve ruined our bed. I’m so sorry.”

“You haven’t. Everything is fine,” Marcello said. “A waterproof cover was put on the mattress a few weeks ago.”

“Even if it hadn’t,” Mazzi said, “it’s not as if we can’t clean it for you.”

“I have replaced many beds, sofas, chairs, and rugs in my lifetime. Yours certainly would not have been the first,” Rio said. “But what I can do for you right at the moment is clean up the mess under, around, and on you. That should make you more comfortable.”

I suddenly felt a dryness under and around me, and I smiled. “Thank you,” I said quietly as I looked up at Rio.

“You are most welcome.” Rio looked to his right, my left. “Marcello, if you would like a chair to sit in, I can help with that. “Or you can get behind him on the bed.”

“I’ll sit behind him,” Marcello said seconds before he climbed onto the bed.

It dipped behind me, and I started to fall that way, but Marcello’s strong hands were there to hold me in place.

My mate managed to get situated behind me, and then his knees were beside my thighs, and I leaned back and relaxed as best as I could.

Marcello had long since become my place of peace. Sure, the man caused me great frustration at times, but he was also an amazing mate, and in his arms, I always found peace and understanding, no matter how difficult life was at the moment.

“Mazzi,” Rio said. “I want you to take the first twin and make sure he or she has a clear airway like we discussed.”

“Absolutely,” Mazzi said.

“Marcello, are you wanting to cut the cords?”

I groaned when another contraction hit, and then I snapped a bit. “I mean, I get it that this is important, but I want that floaty feeling that all of the other omegas raved about at the council. I felt almost nothing before my waters broke. Now, I’m feeling everything, and it flippin’ hurts.”

“I apologize,” Rio said. “Marcello, if you would lie back a bit for a moment and take Abel with you, please.”

Marcello and I leaned back, and that only made my contraction hurt more. Probably because my stomach was stretched out now. I tried to curl up, but Rio pushed on my legs to keep them down. I glared up at the doctor. “It hurts.”

“Yes, I’m sure it does. I need you to lie still if you want the pain to go away.”

That had me freezing. I didn’t even breathe. Rio chuckled and shook his head. I was able to hold my breath until his hand started glowing green. He held it out low over my stomach and then slowly moved it down to the middle of my thighs.

“Ahh,” I said in relief when that floating feeling came over me. “I definitely see why the omegas love this so much.”

Rio chuckled again. “Yes. It also works wonders when paranormals are seriously injured. Now, since you are having twins and have decided you wish to try pushing them out—”

“Can I change that?” I asked, suddenly not interested in all of that. I had wanted to do all of this without the floating feeling, but as soon as that first contraction started to get painful, I was done. “I’m a wimp. I want them delivered like Tulio. I want you to do it.”

Rio smiled at me. “I can certainly deliver the babies if that is what you wish.” I nodded frantically. Rio looked up behind me at my mate. “Marcello, I do apologize. We will need you to sit or stand beside him.”

Mazzi carefully wrapped his arms around my shoulders and held me up, and then my mate was gone. Mazzi lowered me to the bed, and one minute, I was staring up at the warlock, and the next in his place was the face I loved. I smiled up at my mate. “Hi. I love you,” I said and suddenly started crying.

Marcello ran his fingers through my hair and smiled again. “I love you too. Why are you crying? Are they happy tears?”

“No. I’m scared, and this is a lot.”

“Shh…I’m right here, and so are the others,” Marcello said. “There is nothing to be afraid of.” Marcello leaned down and kissed my nose and then my lips quickly.

“A little movement here, and then you might feel some pressure. Just try to relax if you do,” Rio said.

I stared up at Marcello with wide eyes. “They’re delivering the babies?”

Marcello smiled. “That’s what they’re here to do,” he told me as he continued to run his fingers through my hair.

I felt my body move a bit, but I didn’t feel any pressure or anything like that. Was that bad? I heard a gasp, and my eyes widened. What was wrong?

“All right, Mazzi. Please take the first baby,” Rio said.

“Oh, how precious. You are going to turn this coven upside down,” Mazzi said seconds before there was a loud cry.

I opened my mouth. “We have a baby?” I asked.

Marcello smiled at the baby before he looked back to me. “We have a baby,” Marcello told me. “We have a little girl.”

“What? We have a baby girl?” I asked, trying to lift my head a little.

“You do,” Mazzi said as he held her up. “You have a little fox shifter, and she has quite the set of lungs.”

I fell back flat onto the bed and stared up at Marcello. He became blurry, and I started crying in earnest now. We had a daughter. I’d survived a lot of negative things, and now my mate and I had a baby girl to love and protect.

“All right,” Rio said. “Here comes baby number two.”

Marcello was running his fingers through my hair, and he must have gotten a tissue from somewhere because he was suddenly wiping my eyes and nose. It was no use though. I was a daddy, and I had a little girl. I’d always wanted a baby girl.

Another loud cry filled the room, and Marcello leaned down and kissed me again.

His lips lingered on mine, but he didn’t try to deepen the kiss in any way, just held the moment between us.

When he pulled back just a bit, he leaned his forehead against mine.

“I love you more than anything,” he told me.

“Marcello.” My mate sat up and reached for the baby who was now swaddled in a pink blanket and had a hat on with a pink bow.

Marcello’s smile grew before he faced me again. “This little princess has a little prince for her sibling,” Marcello told me.

“Yeah?” I asked. “We have one of each?”

“We do.” Marcello lowered our daughter down to where I could get a good look at her. Well, almost.

“Baby boy is a vampire,” Rio said. “You have one of each.”

Mazzi brought over the other baby, and I tried to look at our son, who was in a blue blanket and had a blue hat on.

“Do you have names picked out?” Mazzi asked. “They’re both gorgeous, you two,” he added.

Marcello nodded. “Abel picked several names. I had very little input because I wasn’t carrying them. I did veto a few though.” Marcello gave me a knowing look. It was true—he absolutely vetoed a few names. Some of them I wasn’t exactly serious about anyway. Others, I actually liked.
