Brigid stared at the stone walls of the familiar, little village as she and Conall rode through it. It was the village closest to her sisters’ home, the village of her childhood, and the one she’d visited throughout most of her life, but she felt as if she was seeing it for the first time as they rode up to the tavern and dismounted.
