55. Chapter 55

Chapter fifty-five

Sir:

Good morning, pet. How are you feeling after last night?

Pet:

I’m okay. It was a lot. I didn’t expect to crash that hard.

Sir:

I’m not surprised. I edged you for hours, and you took a lot of pain. Would you tell me if it had been too much?

Pet:

I think so, yes. It never was. I enjoyed it all. I feel unsettled today, though.

Sir:

Did you finish eating your snacks yesterday?

Pet:

Wasn’t very hungry so didn’t eat much of it.

Sir:

Please try to eat three good meals today and stay hydrated.

We don’t want you to pass out from anything but pleasure.

Pet:

Did you enjoy yesterday? I didn’t do anything wrong, did I?

I was so floaty by the end that I’m not sure what I was even saying.

Sir:

You were perfect as always, pet.

I couldn’t ask for anything more from you.

I’m not convinced you’re capable of being anything but perfect.

But I am a little worried about your drop.

Can you text someone you know in real life?

Maybe reminisce with an old friend or meet someone for lunch?

I’d feel better knowing you were with a friend or family member for at least a bit today.

Pet:

Yes, Sir. I can do that.

Sir:

That’s my good girl.

Margot:

What are you up to?

Jack:

I just watched Sleeping Beauty …

You’re right. Maleficent is totally more intimidating than Carabosse.

Margot:

THANK YOU!

Now you understand why I always wanted to sleep in your bed after I watched it!

Jack:

Hmm. I think it was just because you wuuuved me.

Margot:

Ugh, get over yourself.

Jack:

Look, feel free to come crawl in bed with me anytime you feel scared.

Margot:

What am I going to do with you, Jack Carter?

Jack:

Let me take you out again?

Margot:

Maybe.

Jack:

Well, what are you doing this weekend?

Margot:

This week is pretty busy but maybe next weekend.

Just text me closer to then and I’ll see what’s going on.

Jack:

Will do, Princess. :)

Margot:

Do you remember the train game we used to play?

Jack:

The one where we grew an empire or the one where we were the conductor?

Margot:

Conductor.

Jack:

Couldn’t tell you…

But I do remember the way you had us hunker down with blankets and provisions like we were going to be out in the wild for a month.

Margot:

It was serious business…

Jack:

Oh I recall.

I also remember that you would always fall asleep an hour into playing, and then if Ledger and I had the audacity to stop the game and do something else, you would raise hell when you woke up.

Margot:

:)

Jack:

Spoiled Princess…

Margot:

:):)

Jack:

;)

Jack:

Are you still free this weekend?

There’s somewhere special I’d love to take you.

Margot:

I think Friday night’s open. What’s this special date?

Jack:

Can’t tell you! It’s a surprise!

Margot:

OOOO SURPRISE!! Can I at least get a hint?

Jack:

It’s probably your favorite thing in all the world.

Margot:

Henry Cavill?

Jack:

No, and I still think it’s weird you like him so much…

He’s like a generic version of our own Henry.

Margot:

Ugh, you take that back.

Maybe another hint?

Jack:

Nope! Just the one.

Margot:

Alright, fine, but you better not disappoint, Carter!

Jack:

Never :)

Margot:

Can you at least tell me how to dress?

Jack:

To the nines!

I’ll have a car come get you at 6.
