Chapter Ten #2
But she was doing an even better job driving me toward an orgasm, sucking my cock with stunning skill, licking away the chocolate, then closing her mouth over my shaft and slowly deep-throating me.
I moaned and had to fight to concentrate, drinking in the lush musk of her need, tonguing every knot of nerves I could reach. Reaching under her body, I found one deliciously hard nipple and started milking it with my fingers as my tongue danced over her stiff little clit.
Iona moaned around my cock, then began to suck even harder until it was all I could do not to fuck that skillful mouth.
She was determined not to make my job easy. I had to work to concentrate. Catching her hips, I tugged her closer so I could get a better angle on her clit. Iona gasped and writhed even as she tried to suck my cock in deeper.
And with every taste and lick and stroke, I drew harder and hungrier until all I wanted was to plunge into that slick, sweet cunt.
Iona gasped, “I think… think it’s time for the main event.” She pulled away and knelt on all fours, that tempting ass raised in the air. Waiting to be mounted.
Christ, she was beautiful -- the long legs, the round, perfect curves of her ass as she stared wickedly over one shoulder at me.
Iona didn’t have to tempt me twice. I crawled into position, bending to slide my cock into that delicious pussy. She felt even more tight and wet and swollen than she usually did.
“That’s it, fuck me,” she growled, sounding like a wolf herself. “Fuck me, fuck me, fuck me!” The hot chant sent a spike of sheer lust through me, and I began to lunge, giving her everything she wanted.
She already had everything I was.
Iona met me stroke for stroke, pushing up onto me, rolling her ass against my hips, faster and faster. An orgasm built in the base of my balls, tight, gripping spasms of heat.
“Oh, Maeve’s Forge! I love you… Love you!”
“And I…” I panted, “…I love you more than my life.”
At those words, her pussy spasmed around my cock in hard, milking strokes. She threw her head back and screamed, her long, green hair whipping the exquisite line of her back.
My own orgasm flooded up, hot and wild, and I roared.

Iona
We made love over and over that night, in every position we could think of, sometimes playfully, sometimes lost in rutting lust.
We stopped only when we were so thoroughly wrung out, we had to lean on each other to stand.
When we staggered into Dearg’s bath chamber, we found both the massive tub I expected and a mortal-Earth style shower.
The shower turned into another opportunity to tease each other with soapy touches until I ended up pressed against the bejeweled tile wall, wrapped around his big body as he pounded into me yet again.
We probably would’ve been sore if we hadn’t healed each other.
At last, we fell into his huge oak bed -- carved, like the rest of his furniture, with dragons coiled among thick climbing ivy. Dearg gathered me against him and wrapped me in strength and warmth.
I smiled and pressed my face into the long black silk of his hair, circling his big body with my arms, more in love than I’d ever dreamed I could be.

When I woke the next morning, I purred and stretched, reaching for Dearg with some thought of another go round. He’s made me insatiable, I thought smugly.
But he was no longer curled around me. The bedroom was empty. I frowned, wondering where the hell he was. Why didn’t he wake me?
I rolled out of the barge-size bed, and paused, looking down at myself.
I’m way too naked to go wandering around the palace looking for my lover.
I gestured, conjuring a full-court gown in a deep, emerald green trimmed with golden embroidery and pearls.
Too elaborate for my tastes, but I was damned if I was going to open him up to catty comments about his girlfriend’s sense of style.
Before I could decide where to start my search, the double doors to the garden opened and Dearg stepped inside. Like me, he wore exquisite court garb in Cachamwri blue -- including an intricate crown.
I stared, surprised. It wasn’t as massive as his father’s double Two Kingdoms crown, but it was no bauble either. If he was wearing that…
“Oh God, are we late for something?” I demanded. I absolutely was not in the mood to play stupid court games.
Dearg smiled at me, but there was something a little tight around his eyes. Was that nerves? The man hadn’t looked that worried leaping on a homicidal griffin. What’s going on?
“No, we aren’t late.” Dearg gestured, and the doors closed behind him. “Though there is a formal royal audience at noon I was hoping to attend.”
I grimaced. “Cachamwri’s Egg, why?”
He moved closer, his gaze searching. His blue cloak swayed as he walked, and I forgot my unease.
Gods and devils, the man was handsome in his blue brocade doublet with his tight black britches and tall, tooled leather boots.
His Galatyn eyes seemed to burn with kindling magic, the crown gleaming against that black and shining hair as it fell around his broad shoulders.
I moved to meet him, hungry for a kiss, a touch. Anything at all. You’re in bad shape, Iona. Way too far gone. The thought sent a shaft of anxiety through me. I ignored it and managed a grin. “Somewhere a Disney flick is missing a prince.”
“And a princess.” He stepped against me and cupped my head in both hands, then leaned down until his mouth was a fraction of an inch from mine. “That’s a beautiful gown,” he murmured, his breath warm and spiced with mint.
I rose on my toes and met his kiss. I frowned a little -- it wasn’t as passionate as the ones we’d shared the night before. Oh, gods, is he about to cut me loose now that I don’t need a bodyguard?
Dearg drew back as I searched his face, looking for clues to his intention, beginning to feel a little hurt.
Which was when he sank to one knee.
I froze. If this was one of those Disney movies, I’d expect a ring box, but that wasn’t the Sidhe custom. Our people gave one another bond bracelets at the wedding as a mark of their union, but we didn’t have engagement rings. What the hell is he doing?
Dearg lifted both palms to me, and I felt a flare of magic. A large box appeared on his palms. Made of dark red wood, beautifully carved and inlaid with gold and gems, it was far too large for either a ring or a bracelet.
I stared at it, feeling my eyes go wide as my heart started to hammer.
“Every time I fought beside you,” Dearg said, his voice low and deep, “every time I watched you risk your life for duty and love, every time I saw you confront your fear and defeat it, I fell more in love with you. When Siobhan turned her power on me, when I knew I couldn’t hold out against her and she was about to snap my mind like a dry twig…
you killed your mother to save me.” The words emerged naked with vulnerability as his gaze locked on mine.
“I love you. I need you. My life would have no point without you.”
He flipped the case open, revealing a crown to match his, the gold shaped into twining dragons, their wings interlaced, their shining eyes sapphires. “Will you marry me?” he asked. “Will you be my princess? One day, will you be my queen?”
My eyes tracked from the crown to his face, feeling as if I’d taken one too many blows to the head. “But… I’m a cop. Your court will say I’m --”
“A demigoddess of war and fertility,” he interrupted firmly. “If anyone is social climbing, it’s me.” He took my hand in one of his. “My people would be fortunate to have such a queen. And I would be the happiest Sidhe on either Earth.”
“But… you do realize you saved me first? You risked your life to come after me. I wouldn’t have lasted five minutes against that pair. Then you saved me again during Siobhan’s psychic attack. I was beginning to break when you charged in to distract her.”
“What else could I do? I want to spend the rest of my very long life with you. Fighting by your side, investigating murders, keeping centaurs and trolls from busting up a bar. Whatever it is that you want to do.”
I stared at him. “And give up being king?”
He shook his head. “My parents will rule for the foreseeable future. It could be centuries before they decide it’s time to retire. Then it will be our job.”
Our job. I felt a flare of warmth, like sitting in a sunbeam. We’re an ‘ours.’
Dearg studied me, as if judging my reactions to what he had to say.
Cautiously he added, “Unless you’d care to mount an argument, I do mean to continue my duties as my father’s spymaster.
He needs me, and dimensional gates turn every commute into a matter of seconds.
But what I need most is you.” His expression told me he meant every word.
“Everything else we can figure out.” He searched my face, need vivid in his eyes.
Not a need for sex, but for me. “If you’ll have me. ”
“Have you?” I felt a grin of sheer joy spread over my face. “I love you the way I’ve never expected to love anyone. I always thought I had too much baggage.”
Dearg smiled slowly. “I’ll help carry yours if you help carry mine.”
“Yes,” I breathed. “Maeve, yes.”
He blew out a breath and grinned back in pure relief. Apparently, he’d been honestly afraid I’d turn him down.
The big idiot.
Not rising from his knees, he caught my face in both hands and pulled my head down for his kiss, his mouth ravenous, his tongue thrusting and swirling around mine. I kissed him back, sinking to my knees and drinking him in as joy fizzed through my blood like champagne.
When we finally had to stop to breathe, he sat back and reached into the box to lift out the crown. “This is a temporary coronation,” he told me. “We’ll have to do the formal version following the wedding.”
As he raised it, the crown’s gemstones began to glow. I felt their power rise as he settled it over my head. When he took his hands away, the crown flooded the room with blue light and old, old magic. “Well,” I told Dearg, “this thing is a hell of a lot more than a hat.”
