Epilogue

SAL

Four months later…

The elevator doors opened but neither me nor Clay noticed until someone cleared their throat loudly.

Jumping apart, we looked up to find Bill shaking his head at us.

"You two are like middle-schoolers," he informed us.

"Not my fault," I said, holding my hands up in surrender. "Clay started it."

"Can you blame me?" he demanded as we walked past Bill into the office. "I have to go the next eight hours without touching him."

Bill snorted.

"Not eight whole hours," he mocked.

"Shut up," I said, shoving him lightly.

We reached Clay's desk and I hesitated.

"What?" he asked, taking his seat.

"You're right," I sighed. "Eight hours is too long."

He grinned up at me, grabbed me by my tie and pulled me down to plant one lingering kiss on his lips.

I could hear his friends teasing him as I walked away and couldn't keep the smile off my face.

"How did the move go?" Bill asked as we walked.

"Without a hitch," I said. "We ordered pizza and watched movies all night after the movers got all of his stuff into my apartment."

In between all the sex, of course, but I left that part out for Bill's sake.

Bill smiled warmly.

"Honestly, I'm glad this worked out for you," he said. "I've never seen you so happy."

He squeezed my shoulder, and we parted ways to go to our respective offices, but his words were ringing in my ears.

Ever since that first date months ago where I'd ended up on my back in that hotel room, life had been surreal. I had the best boyfriend in the world. One who I could talk to about anything, one who made me feel things I'd never felt before and one who I knew loved me the same way that I loved him.

Bill had never seen me like this before because I had never felt like this before.

Next week I was meeting his parents, next month mine were coming to town to visit and meet Clay too. I wasn't sure what happened after that, but if it was more of the same, more of just us , being together and in love, forever, well, that would be enough.

More than enough.

I was so glad I had taken Bill's advice that day and set up that profile.

Me and Clay, we were a match made in heaven. Or, more aptly, a match made on Alien Mates .
