Chapter 122

Damien

Play - Fire On Fire by Sam Smith

A Home For You, Always

The hallway was empty and only our footsteps echoed against the floor. I could hear the celebration outside disappearing with every step and the only thing that mattered was her holding my hand like I was the only thing she could think of.

There had been a time when I would do anything so no one could see her like this, to not risk a place she deserved more than anyone.

There had been rules, boundaries and reasons, things we couldn’t have as long as we were here.

But today was different. Today whatever excuse we had to hide disappeared.

So when I kissed her savagely in that same hallway, satisfaction flooded through me.

Her soft gasp of surprise, her melting against me as I devoured her endlessly, was worth it all.

I had been reduced to the briefest brush of my fingertips against her skin in front of the cameras. Now I only had the right to barely brush my fingertips on her skin, in front of the cameras, satisfaction filled me.

But now, there was nothing holding me back. Porter could watch and scream as much as he could, and still, I would kiss her and let me destroy me here all over again.

A few moments later, my office door opened.

She stepped inside and I followed as it clicked shut behind us.

The laughs, the conversations, all the sounds from outside became inexistent. I could hear them, but my mind couldn’t focus on it.

There was only her, and me, and the unbearable realization that I could want her loudly after wanting her so long that desire had become indistinguishable from love.

I knew her, I knew her perfectly, the pain, the laughs, the memories, I knew her all. And somehow it only made me want her more.

She stepped closer to me, watching me over a veil of desire I’ve never seen in her eyes. Something sinful and vivid was stripping me naked and all I could do was let her take control of it for that small instant.

I yanked off my tie, then rolled my sleeves up, lost in her blazing gaze filled with longing.

“Can you take me to see the stars again?” she whispered

No reply came out of my mouth. Instead I slowly undid the buttons of my shirt, and loosened my belt with one hand.

“Get on the desk,” I spit out, watching a faint smile return to her lips. “Lift that dress up for me, and be quiet, Reya.”

I watched her obey, and that crack in me went still again. The satisfaction settling beneath my ribs was quickly swallowed by a deeper feeling.

My eyes lingered on her, taking in every little movement, every small hesitation that disappeared as quick as they came.

She sat on the edge of my desk and slowly lifted her dress, never once looking away from me.

“Keep it on,” I murmured. “We still have dinner after this.” The smile that answered me nearly destroyed me. I stepped between her knees, caught her face aggressively in my hands and added with urgency, “You, Mireya Vitelli, were always going to be my undoing.”

I closed the nonexistent distance before my lips crashed on her. A bruising kiss drowning every word I wanted to add.

You’re beautiful. A lick. You’re here. A bite. You’re mine. A deeper kiss.

She melted, drowned almost into me as I swept everything from the desk in one impatient motion. Papers scattered across the floor, a pen rolled beneath the chair but I barely noticed it. Then, I took my glasses off, setting them aside, my eyes never leaving her.

“Look at me. Look at me and let me remember the first time I was allowed to ruin you and not feel guilty for wanting everything,” I whimpered pathetically against her lips as I brushed my lips against hers.

And she did.

Her hand found mine, pulling my face closer as she kissed the corner of my mouth, my cheek, the line of my jaw.

Tender kisses that felt like devastation.

She then rested her forehead against mine, breathing against my lips and whispered, “The stars.” I looked into her eyes and she added, “Show me the stars.”

I pulled her into an urgent kiss, not even bothering to reply.

I will, I’ll show her the goddamn galaxy.

Her legs instinctively wrapped around my waist, keeping me exactly where she wanted me to be.

Soft lips, wet and demanding bruised my mouth.

Her heels dug into my hips, her hands disappeared around my neck, my back, scratching and marking me desperately, pushing herself deeper into me.

She pulled back, breathing hard, as her hips rolled once more against me. “I–” How I love how her voice sounds when she’s frustrated. “Please, don’t make me ask you twice.”

Her fingers tightened around my shirt, soft gasps escaping her lips and I couldn’t help but smile. “Ask me once, then.”

She stared at me for a second, then whispered almost angrily, “Touch me. Touch me and touch me brutally. I need you, Damien.”

My hand slipped around the back of her thigh as I tugged her toward me in one quick movement, then lifted her leg higher. Then I kissed her again, nodding and grinning against her soft lips.

I caught her hand, placing it on my erection as our fingers interlocked on it and whispered, “I need you too.”

Her lips found mine again, fingers moving to unzip my pants, and when I felt her delicate touch on my bulge. Every brush stole another breath from me. I never let anyone hear those before. But with her, with her I always felt free.

She stroked harder and my hand gripped her ass tighter instinctively, focused on the soft moan leaving her mouth.

“Was that a whimper, Professor Caldwell?” She asked, breathlessly against me.

A soft wicked smile brushed her lips and I grinned back. “Keep teasing me like that and you might hear a moan,” I whispered.

She laughed low and her strokes got harder as she demanded, “Could it be my name, then?”

I caught her mouth in a slow kiss, smiling against her parted lips. “It’s the only name I know.”

Heat built up for so long I could feel it everywhere now. It was coiling through my stomach, turning every breath into something needy. I was so close to losing myself that every instinct told me to surrender to it, but my mind said not before her.

She gave me everything she had, trusting me with every fragile part of herself and I wanted to see that same surrender in her eyes before I allowed myself mine.

Her first.

I dropped to my knees, breathing through the ache, and looked at her. She had no idea what that trust in her eyes was doing to me.

There was something torturous and cruel about how beautiful she looked under the cold light of the moon. I wanted to memorize her, the defiance in her eyes, the pain she carried even in the moment it shouldn’t exist.

Then I stepped between her knees. My hand settled against her thigh as she looked down at me. My fingers found the scars first, tracing them and pressing a kiss to each one as though I could somehow rewrite every event that had left them there.

“Hold onto me, Mireya.”

Before she could say anything else I pulled her closer, burying my face between her thighs. Her panties were pushed aside and my mouth replaced the fabric. Sucking on the very throbbing and sensitive part of her. Tongue diving deeper inside her teasing every corner it could reach.

My free hand rubbed her clit as I keep fucking her with my tongue letting her shake, and suffocate me with her legs.

I never wanted to take anything from her, I wanted to give her everything and more.

Her sounds changed to pants, gasps as if oxygen never reached her lungs. She was losing herself in pleasure and all I could do was go faster and harder.

Her fingers tightened on my hair, pushing me even closer and deeper than I could be and I looked up, staring at the very reason my heart pulsed under my chest.

“Let me hear you,” I whispered against her thigh. “Be loud, no one is going to ruin this.”

I kept going, until my name fell down her lips in a soft breath, as I licked her wetness slowly.

I rose back, never taking my eyes from hers. Rosy cheeks, soft tears pearling her eyes, gorgeous. I caught her leg and wrapped it over my waist again before leaning in to kiss her.

“Do you like knowing what you taste like to me?” I whisper pushing her down the desk. “Poison on my tongue.”

“Isn’t it dangerous, then?” She asks against my lips.

“It is, for my heart..” I murmured, brushing a strand of hair away as she’s lying down on the hard surface. “But I still drink it willingly.”

For a moment, I stood there, hovering over her and watching her. My thumb slowly moved to her lips, brushing the curve of them before slipping in between them.

She looked at me, soft blue eyes wet with trust and pleasure.

“You have no idea how much I love being the reason you look like this,” I rasped before pushing my fingers deeper into her mouth. “Can you breathe with that pretty mouth full like this?” With my free hand, I lifted her chin, tilting her face up. “Much better.”

She held my gaze for another second before biting down lightly on my fingers, and a slow smirk tugged at my mouth as I withdrew my hand.

“Did I hurt you?” She asked sarcastically.

I leaned in, leaving a small kiss on her lips, and whispered, “What I’m going to do to you next will hurt.” Then I pulled back. “Remember, pain with me is never pain.”

My eyes dropped to the little sealing kit at the edge of the desk and the thought came instantly. I picked up the signet under her watchful eyes, turning it between my fingers.

She followed my hand before asking softly, “What are you doing?”

I lifted the wax, a deep blue color, almost black beneath the office soft lights.

My free hand reached into my back pocket, where a new lighter waited. I flicked it open and held the flame beneath the wax, watching it soften, the deep blue turning glossy as it gathered.

“You always wear your feelings on your skin,” I started slowly. “Bruises and scars, tattoos and drawings. You blush when you want me closer. And I love it.”

My other hand came to her throat, fingers curving gently around the sides of her neck, her pulse fluttering beneath my fingertips.

“That heartbeat of yours is getting awfully demanding, Mireya. Isn’t it?” I smiled at how loud I could feel it pounding beneath my fingers.

She breathed softly, her sad eyes filled with life on mine. “What is it asking for?”

I let the softened was fall over the ribbon I’d chosen then held the signet above it. “For more. My lips perhaps? Or for me to fuck you senseless until you forget where your body ends and where mine begins.”

“Then make it unforgettable,” she murmured, still curious about what I was planning,

My thumb brushed her jaw before leaving her soft face as I caught her leg and lifted it over my shoulder. The movement drew her dress high, baring her thigh.

The first drop of blue wax touched her pale skin, and her breath caught. And I watched her rather than the wax, catching that tiny flicker of surprise in her eyes.

“That’s good, breathe,” I murmured. My fingertips ran slowly over her skin, mirroring every small gasp leaving her mouth. “You don’t have to fight me.” Another drop. “Let me be the one place you don’t have to be strong.”

I leaned in, kissing her while the wax continued to gather, slow and warm between the heat of us.

When I pulled away, I held her gaze as I pressed the signet into the softened blue wax staining her skin.

I waited, feeling her eyes on me and then I lifted it.

My crest stared back at me. And I bent, kissing the skin beside, lingering there for a moment.

“So you remember,” I murmured. “That I am the only one allowed to see you like this. And that I am the only one who can make you feel.”

Then I carefully helped her straighten herself, smoothing her dress back into place. I fixed the fabric at her waist, brushed a stray strand of hair from her face, and made sure she looked as composed as she had when we’d left the crowd.

I remained between her knees for another moment, and reached behind her to open the small drawer of my desk. The keys were waiting inside. I lifted them out. The keychain, a small lily attached to them.

She looked at me confused when I placed the keys in her palm and closed her fingers around them.

“The house is yours too,” I said as I watched her understand what that meant. A tear slipped down her cheek before she could stop it. I reached up and caught it with my thumb, gently brushing beneath her eye. “When we leave here,” I added. “I don’t want you wondering where you’re going.”

I placed a soft kiss on her knuckles and smiled. “You’re coming home with me.”

Her lips parted, but no words came.

I gave her hand a small squeeze. “The big one opens the front door, the smaller is the gate, and the last one is for the office.”

A tiny tearful laugh escaped her. “You gave me a key to your office?”

“I gave you a key to my life,” I smiled as her lips trembled.

“I want you there when I wake up, I want to know Milo is safe somewhere. I want Blue to ruin my mornings. I want you walking through those doors without ever wondering whether you belong.” I looked into her soft pained eyes. “You do. You’ll always do.”

She leaned in, pressing a soft kiss to my cheek and whispered, “Would you promise me something?”

“Anything.”

She closed her fingers tighter around the keys. “When we’re old, remind me of this moment.”

“When we’re old?”

She smiled again, but there was something unbearably tender in it. “I want to remember I was happy here first, with you.”

I looked at her for a long moment. “I promise.”

Then she held out her little finger. “Pinky promise?”

A laugh escaped me before I could stop it. “Pinky promise.” I hooked my finger around hers.”Happy?”

She nodded before standing up. “Very.”

I shook my head, smiling as I squeezed her hand. “Come on. We should probably go back before they send someone looking for us.”

I opened the door for her, and we stepped back into the hallway together. The noise from the celebration came back. Before she could start walking back I caught her hand one last time. She looked back at me and I spoke again, “I’m proud of you.” I love her. “More than you’ll ever know.”

Her eyes glistened, but I already let go of her hand. “Now go celebrate.”

She walked in front of me and I kept watching her as I followed her.

Is she killing me? Was it love destroying me from inside my own skin like that?

I think so.

We made our way outside with the others, her family saw us and headed toward us as we kept advancing to the parking lot.

We stopped there. Mireya looked at me and mouthed, “I’ll see you there.”

I smiled and watched her turn to walk toward her car.

Pinky promise.
