Chapter Twelve #3

She couldn’t find the words to correct him. There would be no drinking from him, only choking on his trunk and praying her breathers worked. That was a conversation for a different day.

Xexis’ body tensed. His arms engulfed her, shoving himself fully inside her.

As he squeezed, she felt something spill inside her.

Normally, humans don’t spill enough to feel it…

but Xexis? She clutched him tight, counting the seconds as his body lurched against hers.

Like he was orgasming in waves, he crashed into her several times.

It took an eternity for him to unclench.

Slowly, tender, and aware of all their limbs, Xexis slipped from within her. He unwrapped her arms and legs from his body before scooping her up into his embrace. Her legs were too weak to contemplate walking on her own. She flopped her head against his chest, trying to keep conscious.

Someone stepped out from the trees for only a moment before a blanket fluttered through the air.

Aphrodite didn’t even flinch. I knew they were there.

He’d made it clear they would be able to hear.

She couldn’t let her human shame ruin the thing that she enjoyed too much.

And fuck, I enjoyed it. She nuzzled her face in the right direction against his bare chest. Xexis hummed happily as he snatched the blanket from the air.

“Let me bundle you mate, then I’ll…collect our things.”

She nodded, voice too torn to speak silly words.

Saving her energy for other things, she let him swaddle her in the massive fabric.

Her mate set her against the tree, drone plopped in her lap.

Aphrodite freed her data pad from the mess of things around them.

Turning on her poor droid, she considered apologizing for Xexis’ rough mishandling.

When she looked at her data pad screen, however, she realized it had rebooted. Fuck, was Xexis too rough with it?

She watched, the spinning circle of gray light on the screen terrifying her.

It had never rebooted by itself. Then, the screen blinked, and the device chirped with love.

Aphrodite sighed with relief. I wouldn’t even know how to begin to explain what I need to fix this fucker.

She cuddled up in the blanket, her drone bobbing beside her head, as she poked through her data pad. A red ring soon encompassed it.

“My mate?” Xexis called, hovering over her.

She opened the alert. A station-wide notice hit her data pad. Despite the raw throat, she managed to croak, “I wasn’t even sure I could get station connection here.”

Missing persons: Aphrodite Kerso. Last seen aboard the Apollo 1616. The scout crew came upon a destroyed vessel and bravely climbed aboard to assess any survivors or research. Upon the vessel they encountered this being.

Aphrodite stopped at a surveillance still from their ship's control deck of Danny trying to fist fight Xexis with Aphrodite on his back.

Daniel Edgar, protection personnel, can be seen here attempting to aid Technical Personnel, Aphrodite Kerso, in subduing the attacker.

After further study of the surveillance footage the C.F.H.E.

have determined their assailant is none other than a member of the 0m1n0us N0m1n0us species.

These sentient creatures are highly volatile, armed, and dangerous.

It is unclear at this moment what the kidnapping of Aphrodite Kerso could mean, but the CFHE is determined to return our personnel safely. Please report—

She glanced up from the data pad. That…that can’t be real. “0m1n0us N0m1n0us?”

Xexis sputtered, “Absolutely not, that’s a ridiculous name. We are Vroskrowz.”

Of course, humans fucking called the beings with sharp, pointy pincers and razor teeth Om-Noms. Aphrodite rolled her eyes before returning her attention to the screen in front of her. Fuck…they think I was kidnapped. She winced. “Xexis.”

He tilted his head so he could read. His brow pinched together as he mouthed along with his reading. She watched him, entertained by the way his pincers twitched. Then he frowned hard and glared at the devious. He waved a hand at it with a scoff. “This is all lies. They have lied.”

She flinched trying to speak through an angry throat.

“I don’t think they know the truth. All they have is our ship's logs.” She cleared the red alert and immediately disconnected from the station.

The last thing I need is them tracking my device.

She tapped her fingers against the hard, metal back of the pad.

Pensively, she whispered, “They’re going to come looking for me, or a fight. ”

Xexis crouched beside her, putting a hand to her cheek. “Do not fret, my mate. We will head home immediately and seek an audience with the Korzavic. He will have guidance and an audience with your people. This is a simple misunderstanding.”

Oh…Xexis clearly didn’t know humans very well…

they’d gone to war for much less. Maybe Quagmor would know?

She smiled at him weakly, her throat screaming for water.

There would not be more poking or prodding him for answers until she’d applied healing goop.

She had a million questions: How do they have an audience with humans?

I’ve never seen you or your people before, had no idea who you were, how do you know us?

But he nodded, closing off the conversation.

His armor was back on his body and her clothes were pooled in her lap.

Xexis scooped her off the ground and headed for the ship.

Her drone bobbed behind them. Aphrodite returned her attention to the device in her lap.

Please let his people be more reasonable than mine.

She prayed to any higher power or being that could hear her, please…

let this just be a simple misunderstanding.
