Chapter 10 Enzo

Chapter ten

Enzo

Enzo looked the man in front of him up and down, taking in everything.

This man had been sent to him by his father, and he was supposed to be a trained killer—the Lords of Chaos' top enforcer.

Well, he looked the part of a badass biker, that was for sure.

He had on a black t-shirt, and the short sleeves showed off his numerous tattoos, but the one that was most impressive was the one that made his arm look like a cyborg's arm.

His leather cut had an "Enforcer" patch on one side, "Man of Carnage" under it, and on the other side, "Third Generation" and "Original Chapter".

Enzo could respect keeping it in the family.

The Lords of Chaos was the one biker gang—wait—they took offense to that term.

No, they were the one club to rule them all.

His father felt that they were also the only bikers worthy to partner up with the Castiello family.

He really didn't know; he had never worked with any of them before.

He knew what Akari said about them and what Demir and his uncle, Vito, had to say.

He trusted their opinions, but he still wanted to see them in action with his own two eyes.

"Your name is Diego 'Dragon' Murphy, right?"

Dragon smirked. "You already know what my name is; why ask?"

Enzo smirked. "Just breaking the ice with introductions."

Dragon slipped his thumbs in the ring hooks of his jeans where his belt was strapped.

It was his favorite because the buckle was shaped like a bike.

He had another belt, where the buckle was shaped like a gun, that was his second favorite.

He was also carrying a 9 millimeter hidden beautifully in its fashionable holster on his pants.

"I'm here to help you handle business. What do you need me to do?" Dragon asked.

"Straightforward; I like that," Enzo said. "Do you know who our targets are?"

Dragon nodded. "Yeah, our Prez gave me the rundown. Basically, we're taking out Da Han's oldest son, Li Mujin, right?"

Enzo shook his head. "I have other plans."

"'Other plans'? What?" Dragon asked.

"I want to capture Li and use him as leverage."

Dragon cocked an eyebrow at that. "Do you think that will work?"

"It might. I don't want to kill Li, not if I don't have to.

Using him as leverage to force his father to come to the table for a sit-down benefits all sides.

We have lost more than enough blood in this war.

We take Li, we get Da Han by the balls. He's going to want to save his son.

Li is the next in line to take over the triad," Enzo said.

Dragon scratched at his brow as he thought about Enzo's plan. "On paper, it sounds good."

"It's the best idea to end this war quickly," Enzo said.

"Especially since we predict they'll be calling in reinforcements from Japan," Cenzo said.

Dragon nodded, then crossed his arms over his massive chest. "Does your father know that's your plan? Because my dad doesn't, and I don't like doing things he's not aware of, especially when my whole club is involved."

"My father wants me to kill Li," Enzo said. "But I don't think that's the right move."

Dragon grunted, then shook his head. "I'm telling my Prez, and I don't give a shit if you like that or not," he said.

Enzo leaned back in his chair and stared at Dragon while his finger tapped the top of his polished desk. "You disapprove of my plan?"

Dragon snorted. "Whether I disapprove or not doesn't matter.

We all had a plan both your family and my club agreed on.

Now you want to change the play without letting the other players in the game know.

I don't care to get my ass chewed out by my dad if shit goes wrong or if this is something your father doesn't want.

Let me remind you, because it seems like I need to: you don't control the family yet. "

Enzo snarled and leaped to his feet. "You cocky motherfucker! I don't need you to tell me shit about my family."

Cenzo stiffened when he saw the enraged reaction his cousin had to Dragon's comment. If things got ugly, he was ready to attack.

"You can calm down your bark; I know how to handle dogs who think they can bite me," Dragon warned.

"Who the fuck are you calling a 'dog,' motherfucker?" Enzo snapped.

"More like fatherfucker, but if you're trying to cause problems... I'm a problem solver, motherfucker," Dragon said, tossing the insult back at Enzo.

Enzo laughed as he shook his head. "The fucking balls on this son of a bitch."

"Watch your mouth when you talk about my momma," Dragon said with a smirk.

Enzo cocked an eyebrow because he was confused by the remark. He stared at Dragon for a second, then turned to look at Cenzo to see if he was also confused. Cenzo shrugged, and Enzo rolled his eyes, then returned his attention to Dragon.

"I don't get it. Are you pissed about the 'bitch' comment, or do you agree with it, but not when I say it?" Enzo asked him for clarity.

"Two things can be true at once," Dragon said.

He pointed at him, wagging his finger. "You're an interesting one. I don't know if you're serious or not right now."

"I'm always serious," Dragon said. "But I also don't want this situation to get out of hand.

We're partners, and maybe even a little bit more, considering my brother, Burger, is already looking at wedding rings from what I've heard.

This doesn't have to get ugly. I just want our bosses to know what your plan is. "

Enzo nodded, then sat back down, his temper settling as he now understood the man before him a lot more. Dragon was fearless; he got that much, but also calculating. Witty as fuck, too. "Fair enough. I'll call my dad, and you can call yours."

"Before I do, I want all of the details of this plan so that I can better explain it," Dragon said.

"It's simple. Da Han Mujin is a man who is on our level.

His connections, the skill that his men possess are not to be underestimated.

We've taken some major hits. So much so, reinforcements have been sent from Sicily.

And I know my father hates that. When Sicily is called in, it makes my dad look weak—like he can't handle his business," Enzo said.

"Who are they sending from Sicily?" Dragon asked.

Enzo sighed. "Cenzo's father and my uncle, Nico, and I don't really know what his agenda will be. Will he help, or will he hurt my father for his chance to finally take over the family? It's what he's always wanted, and he'll take any failure on my dad's part to grab the reins."

"Shitty family member," Dragon said, then looked at Nico. "Sorry about that."

Cenzo shrugged. "My sister and I have a strained relationship with my father, although it has gotten better over the years."

"Why isn't your last name Castiello?" Dragon asked, then held his hand up. "You don't have to answer as I am being nosy."

"My sister and I took our mother's maiden names.

She's the one who raised us since my father didn't want to take responsibility back then.

Of course, he was fourteen and highly immature.

My uncle Rico and grandfather took care of us on his behalf, making sure no one in the family was left out.

My dad's been in and out of prison his whole life.

Hopefully, this more recent stint will be the last time," Cenzo said.

"I see," Dragon nodded.

Enzo chuckled. "He's my dad's youngest uncle and had his dreams crushed when my father proved himself to be more than capable, deaf or not, of being the head of the family."

"Are all the men in your family named that way? Rhymes and four-letter words?" Dragon asked out of curiosity.

Enzo nodded. "My grandfather was Tito; his brothers are Leno and Nico. And as you know, my dad is Rico, and my uncle is Vito."

"My middle name is Nero," Cenzo said with a chuckle. "The only consolation my mom gave to my father was that she wanted to name me after her favorite boy name. So the four-letter traditional male name of Nero was relegated to my middle name."

Dragon laughed. "Interesting."

Enzo waved his hand dismissively. "Getting back to what I was saying: more members from your club have had to join us in this fight.

If Da Han called in more reinforcements from China or even the Yakuza, how many more members are we going to lose?

And what about our territory? We kill Li; he has two more sons who can take over, not to mention two more brothers.

My dad only has me as his heir and his brother Vito, whom he trusts to take over.

I don't want this war to continue anymore.

Don't get me fucked up, though. I don't fear death.

I don't fear bloodshed, but war is bad for business.

It's already gone on far too long, but it was in New York.

Now, it's in Chicago, Miami, and Orlando as well.

The police are sitting back and waiting to see who is still standing once the smoke clears.

If we can force Da Han to surrender for the life of his son, isn't that better? "

"I don't deny that," Dragon said. "But what if he doesn't?"

Enzo studied Dragon for a moment, then shrugged. "Fuck it, then. We kill the bastard."

Dragon nodded. "I can work with that. I'll tell my father." He stepped out of the room to make the call.

"I thought you two were about to throw down for a second," Cenzo said.

Enzo snorted. "I could take him."

"I love you, man... but I'm not so sure," Cenzo said, and he smirked when Enzo tossed him an agitated glance.

"Some friend you are."

"Hey, I'd jump in and assist if it looked like you were losing."

Enzo gave him the middle finger before pulling out his phone to text his father with their encrypted app. He texted the message, then waited for the response and hoped his father would see the value in his plan. When the message came across, he eagerly read every word.

It's not a bad plan, but it may be difficult. Li Mujin never goes anywhere without his sister, and she is highly skilled, and Li is not to be taken lightly. Killing them would be easier than capturing them, his father texted back.

Enzo pursed his kissable lips. Are you giving me the go-ahead or not?

I'm trusting you, yes. Do not disappoint me.

Enzo nodded.I won't. Trust me, I've been thinking about my plan for a while. I have a spy at their docks in Miami and know they're expecting a shipment. Li will be there, and that's where I'll take him.

Good. Be careful.

I will.

Enzo slipped his phone back into his pocket. "Dad is onboard," he told Cenzo.

"So, we get the crew ready?"

"The Lords in Miami will help play a big part in this," Enzo said.

"I'd be remiss if I didn't bring this up," Cenzo said.

Enzo looked at him. "What is it?"

"What if they retaliate by taking one of ours?"

"I'd be surprised if they could take any of our people.

Besides, once we have Li, we can contact Da Han and force him to the table.

If he loves his children as much as our intel says he does, then he'll act quickly and not wait to see if he can gain leverage by attempting to kidnap one of us to bring to the table," Enzo said.

Cenzo nodded, then both men turned when the door opened and Dragon re-entered. "Is everything good on your end?" he asked the biker.

Dragon nodded. "My dad is fine with it. We're just helping; this war is between the Triad and the Castiellos for the most part."

Enzo smirked. "That is how it started, but if your club wants a bigger piece of the pie, it's us versus them."

"Just so I know, Xiù Mujin is some bad bitch, right? Like Akane?" Dragon asked.

"That's the story, though I'm not sure if she's on Akane's level," Enzo said.

"I'm so interested in seeing Akari and Akane in action. I keep hearing so much about how deadly they are," Dragon said.

Enzo smiled. "Akari has trained my personal bodyguard, Sergio, so if you want to have a taste, why not enjoy a little sparring match?"

Dragon cocked an eyebrow, then smiled. "It's been a while since I got a chance to cut loose. Sure, let's have at it."

Enzo rose and adjusted his suit. "Follow me."
