Chapter 22 Enzo
Chapter twenty-two
Enzo
"Get the girls out of here," Enzo ordered his men, who were gathering the trapped victims who'd been kidnapped by the group of men and women that he and his people had just eliminated.
"What are you going to do with them?" Dragon asked as he slipped his gun back into his holster.
He checked the women out as they followed Enzo's men out of the door.
Their clothes were dirty, and they had the scent of unwashed bodies over several days, not to mention numerous cuts and bruises from the abuse they'd suffered.
The terror in their eyes made him feel sorry for them, which is why he wanted to know what Enzo would do with them.
He didn't want it to be a situation of out of the frying pan and into the fire.
Enzo watched the women leave and sighed. "Get them help. We have someone who will get them back home, any medical help they'll need, and some money to help keep their mouths shut about our involvement."
Dragon nodded because that was what he was hoping for.
"Good. They've been through enough." He turned to look at the many bodies scattered throughout the building.
They really did a number on these assholes.
As soon as his people from the Tampa, Miami, and Orlando chapters showed up, they headed out.
Enzo looked at Dragon, his eyes roaming over the man as he silently assessed him. "What did you think we were going to do with them?"
Dragon shrugged. "Not sure, to be honest. You're mafia—one of the most notorious outfits in the business.
It's not like we're in on all of your dealings.
I know you run the drug market, guns, racketeering, but I don't know about the sex game.
You have that bordello in Chicago where Zindel was forced to whore for two years. "
Enzo snorted and nodded. "I see. But don't you all have a bordello and even illegal gambling, too?"
Dragon nodded. "That new club we have going now. But it's all volunteer. It's not like we force anyone to whore for us. The men and women who work for us are treated well."
Enzo scoffed. "Who's volunteering to be a whore?"
"Motherfuckers who need to feed their family and keep a roof over their heads. People who like sex and want to make a decent amount of money doing it. It's not like they can't leave when they want to," Dragon said.
Enzo nodded. "To be fair, you're small time compared to us.
People who cross us or owe us money end up paying off their debts one way or another.
We could never trust hiring people like that to work within the family as soldiers.
But they can work in our establishments paying back what they owe.
" He paused to figure out how he wanted to address the next issue.
"You mentioned Zindel, but do you know why he ended up working for us? "
Dragon shrugged. "I heard it was because he stole from one of your men."
Enzo nodded. "He was warned by his brother and club not to fuck with our people, but he was arrogant and stupid. He was caught and had to pay his debt back in flesh."
"You could have just taken the money. I heard they offered," Dragon said.
"Sometimes it's not about the money. In Zindel's case, his attitude was offensive, and the only way to pay us back was in flesh.
" Enzo made an offhand gesture. "But that is all in the past now.
He is living his best life, I've heard, being spoiled by my uncle.
As for these women... they didn't do anything to us.
They are victims and need to be saved. My only concern is their discretion.
If they can keep their mouths closed, they'll live.
If they can't, then they'll die. Do you agree? "
Dragon nodded because it seemed fair to give them a chance to not bite the hand that just freed them. "The fact that your mafia operates a lot like my club... I see why my father didn't mind pursuing a partnership with you."
Enzo smirked. "Oh, I'm relieved that you approve," he said with a healthy dose of sarcasm.
Dragon cut him a glance because the mockery in Enzo's tone didn't escape him. Both men turned when Cenzo walked up, still looking at his cell phone.
"We've got the location on Li Mujin," Cenzo said. "It's as we suspected. He was smart enough not to go to Miami to the docks; instead, he stayed put in one of his safe houses."
Enzo's eyes widened at the great news. Finally, they would have the opportunity to get leverage over Da Han and possibly end this war. "Where is that son of a bitch?"
"Holed up in Lakeland. We have the exact address," Cenzo said.
"Are we heading out to another party?" asked Dwight "Bulldozer" Cooke, the enforcers from the Miami Lords of Chaos MC chapter.
The man stood six-four, over two hundred sixty pounds of muscle and body mass.
He played football in high school and college, and when he rammed into you, it knocked you into your next life. That's why he was sent.
Other brothers from the Lords gathered around; with them on this raid, killing the sex traffickers was easy work.
Now, they were waiting to get instructions on the real reason why they were there.
Sure, killing the sex traffickers and freeing the women was a good time had by all.
.. well, not for the dead sex traffickers, but the Lords and even the Castiello family worked well together.
That was what Enzo noticed as he looked around at the rough-and-tumble crew clad in their leather cuts.
"Let's get out of here first," Enzo said as he took another look at all the dead bodies decorating the floor, stairs, and some hanging over the railing of the second-floor balcony of the abandoned factory.
His people had already gone through pouring gasoline all over the place.
Now they just had to light the flame. Enzo climbed into the back of the black SUV and settled in as he watched the building burn to the ground.
The van with the women was already gone, whisking them off to better pastures or home.
He saw the Lords climb on their motorcycles and had a higher opinion of the bikers.
They looked uncultured, but that would be an incorrect assumption.
They were sophisticated, even more than some mafia organizations he had to deal with.
The more time he spent with the Lords, the more he could understand why his father sought them out.
"So, where to?" Cenzo asked, capturing Enzo's attention.
He was dressed in a black t-shirt, cargo pants, and boots like all the other members of his family, and the members from both of their groups who were injured in the attack had already been sent back to the safehouse for treatment.
They had fifteen men with them between his people and the Lords. Would it be enough?
"Do you think we should call in more reinforcements?" Enzo asked Cenzo.
"According to my guy who's watching them, they have about fifty men there," Cenzo said.
"Fuck," Enzo cursed. "Call in Luigi and Leo, tell them to have their people meet us there. Make sure Luigi keeps his shit together. I don't want him making moves before we get there."
Cenzo cocked an eyebrow. "Are you sure you want to use Luigi, then? You know he's a hothead."
"That's why I want him there."
"Fair enough," Cenzo said, then pulled out his cell to give the order that would ensure they had at least forty men with them when they went to attack Li.
While traveling toward the location their lookout was hiding in, Enzo thought about how they were going to go about his plan. He looked out of the rear window to see the Lords on bikes following their vehicles as they made their way to the place.
An hour later, everyone was standing around in an empty apartment that had a great view of the warehouse three blocks away.
A radar device had been set up by their guy, who had been keeping an eye on Li and his sister's every movement.
Enzo took a peek and saw through the walls of the warehouse over fifty people gathered, some walking, lying down, sitting, or standing watch.
Enzo stepped away from the telescope and turned to address the group. "Seven more men just showed up."
Billy, who worked under Mr. Andrews, nodded. "Fifty-seven, to be exact, if seven more showed up. I've been counting."
"So, when are we going to attack? When we're completely outnumbered?" Thomas "Blazer" McKinny asked and the agitation in his tone was evident.
Billy snorted, insulted by the question. "Do you have a death wish?"
Blazer shook his head. "Just ready to get back home to my old woman and put another baby in her."
"That's all you had to say with your impatient ass." His brother from the same chapter, Eric "Jazz" Jackson, patted his back in an attempt to calm him down. "Cool it, brother," he said in a hushed voice.
"I'm cool," Blazer replied as he crossed his muscular arms over his barrel chest.
"Getting back to the issue at hand, we have forty; we can take him," Cenzo said.
"We need to be careful about this," Nine Iron said. "Yeah, I don't doubt that I will kick ass in there, but we don't know what skill level their people have."
"I think it's safe to assume that most of those men are mid-level at best. I mean, how many people in your mafia are on the level of Sergio?" Dragon asked Enzo as he pointed to the teenage bodyguard and assassin.
"Not many are on his level. He was trained by Akari," Enzo said.
Dragon nodded. "Exactly. Same with our club.
Everyone can throw down, but only a select few are trained for the dirty work, and even though every member of our club will fight for it, not everyone wears this badge of honor.
" He pointed to the patch under his "Enforcer" patch labeled "Man of Carnage. "
Enzo looked from Dragon's cut to the others to see how many had the same thing. Nine had it; Bulldozer and both Jazz and Blazer donned the two combined patches. Burger didn't have one. "What does it mean?"
