5. Dismissed Little Bitch

-Spade-

“All clear, Ri,” I yell, stumbling into him as I enter Jade’s room, which is destroyed to shit. It’s then that I see what’s written in blood on the wall. He was here, while we were all downstairs, without a clue. The dogs suddenly start going crazy in the backyard. Dario bolts from the room, screaming at the others, and I look out of the window. I see movement over to the far left of the property. Opening the window, I shoot, missing the intruder. Fuck! Shutting the window, I head out with everyone else. I’m the last one to leave the back door and notice Augustus limping. I check him over, and he yelps when I touch his back leg. Fuck, it feels broken. There’s enough manpower here that I can stay back and help my favorite boy. I pick him up gently and carry him into the house. I lay him down on the couch, and he licks my face. I notice there’s blood on my hands that wasn’t there before. His leg isn’t bleeding, so I lift his good leg up and see a slash wound under his belly.

“Don’t worry, Auggie, I’ll clean you up; you stay here while I get some supplies. Jameson has a treat for you boys, so chill out and I’ll be right back.” I give him a kiss on the head and go get Jade’s first aid kit. I’m not a vet, but I know I can stabilize his leg and at least sew him up for now. I go back to the living room in a rush. This place is a mess, there is so much blood everywhere. Jesus Christ.

“Alright, Auggie. I’m going to wrap your leg for now and sew up your wound. It’s going to hurt, so don’t bite me.” He licks my face, and I laugh. He’s such a sweet dog. I take out an ace bandage and look around the room for a piece of wood or something, but at the bottom of the bag are splints. I take his foot and straighten it out as much as I possibly can without hurting him and place the splint against his leg, wrapping it tightly around the broken bone.

“The simple part is done. Now, I’m going to need you to lay back and promise not to bite me; it will only hurt for a second, Auggie.” I roll him over onto his back, taking the antiseptic and pouring it onto the cut. He whines, but I blow on the slash to soothe the sting. I thread the needle and get to work. He growls at me with the first stitch, but I reassure him until I’m finished. I clean him up as the others come stomping back into the room with the other two dogs and no intruder. Jade walks over to me.

“What happened to Augustus?”

“I noticed him limping, so I brought him in to wrap his leg, and when I put him down, there was blood on my hands. Someone slashed his stomach, so I stitched him up; he needed eight stitches. We need to take him to the vet for a cast. The splint will only hold for so long.”

“Thanks, Reid. I’ll take him tomorrow.” She snuggles his face and walks away. I blow out a breath because, what the fuck? That’s all I get, ‘Thanks, Reid’?

“Um, Babygirl, you might want to go look at your bedroom. I think it’s best if we go stay at the Academy tonight and sort this shit in the morning. This is a lot to clean up tonight.”

“I agree, and I need another shower. I can’t seem to get clean enough.” Jade shrugs. Holy shit she speaks.

“We will call the cleanup crew and have this taken care of before you return tomorrow,” Ryker states.

“Burn the fucker to the ground for all I care. As long as my dogs and valuables are safe, I don’t even want to be here anymore.”

“Ok, so we need a plan.” I say to no one in particular.

“No.I need a plan. There is no we,” she retorts with narrowed eyes, and I growl.

“Before you start arguing, what the fuck are we supposed to tell Dad? That’s the plan we need to be discussing.” Ryker quips.

“Speaking of the Devil,” Ryder answers his phone.

“Hey Dad, what’s up? No, I haven’t seen D’mitri tonight– yes–no–okay… We will be back at the club house tomorrow. It’s Friday night–okay–okay. It can wait. fine–ok–bye” He takes a deep breath.

“We need to figure this shit out now, or someone needs to remove the tracker, and we need to kill it or drive somewhere to dispose of it. If D’mitri doesn’t show his face at the club house in the next twenty-four hours, he’s sending the guys out to look for him.”

“Let them search for him; fuck it. We play stupid until we can come up with a better idea. I’m fucking exhausted and need to get the fuck out of here.” Jade chimes in.

Jameson walks up to her, placing his thumb on her chin. “Stay with me tonight. Or I’ll stay in your room and watch you sleep,” he demands because Jameson doesn’t ask; he takes.

“I’ll think about it,” she winks. I’m getting more and more pissed by the second with this bullshit, but I’ll keep my mouth shut for now. It will bite him in the ass eventually, even if it kills me to let this all happen.

Tonight has been fucking insane. I’m not sure how to feel other than anger and sadness. I know Jade isn’t okay. She acts like everything is fine, but once the adrenaline wears off, I can put my life on it that she will be singing another tune.

The twins and Kayla decide to stay at the house to ensure the cleanup crew gets the job done while we go back to the Academy. They won’t let Jade burn the house to the ground like she wants, but they can’t always be with her either. Jade’s going to do what she wants to do, just like she’s doing at this moment. We separate and Jade goes off with Jameson, up to this room. I look over to Dario and see his jaw ticking, hands tightly fisted. He’s with me on this; we both don’t like it. We’ve been punished every single fucking time Jameson fucks up since we have met her and now, all of a sudden, he gets special treatment? What the fuck?

“This is fucking bullshit, Ri, I’m not sure how much more of this shit I can handle before I legit lose my fucking head. We both know it’s not a fun time when I do. I was pissed before, but now, I’m fucking livid.”

“She didn’t even bat an eye at us, just took off with The Carver like we don’t fucking matter.” He punches the number on the elevator to our floor.

“We need to just calm down; it won’t last. It doesn’t matter what happens tonight, by the morning he will be back to himself, and she will be a mess.” He nods but doesn’t say anything further. We step out of the elevator and trek down the hall in a somber mood. I can’t believe what happened tonight. Ri warned us, and I just didn’t want to hear it. I have no clue where this leaves us, but I’m glad the fucker is finally dead. That still leaves our fathers. They are so heavily guarded after the shit they pulled. They know we are gunning for them but that doesn’t take away the fact that we still work for them. We still have to listen to their commands. We get to our room and Ri saunters off to the shower after grabbing his things while I lay on my bed rubbing my eyes. My wrists are killing me from the binds, the piece of fabric I wrapped them in needs to be changed once he’s out of the shower. I’m so angry at everything, I really thought we were heading in a good direction. I thought tonight was going to be fun with our girl, finally catching a break and letting loose. How fucking naive was I? Taking a deep breath, I pull out my phone, and open my message thread with Jade; I refuse to fucking give up on her.

Me: Jade, I need to know if you are okay. I don’t like the way you left with Jameson. Tomorrow, we need to talk and take Auggie to the vet. I love you, Babygirl. Xo

I can see she opened it but never replies; this makes me absolutely fucking insane. I’m ready to go to Jameson’s room and demand she speak to me. Why does he get her attention and we get dismissed? I don’t fucking understand.

He better not fucking hurt her, so help me god I will gut his ass. My phone vibrates as I hear the shower cut off. Picking up my phone hoping that it’s my girl texting back; it’s not.

Esteban: I have a job for you. Tomorrow night 11pm: 21st and 3rd in Manhattan. Go to the front desk and retrieve the package. Details will be inside. Don’t disappoint me, Cabron.

I throw my phone across the room hitting the wall with a thud, just what I fucking needed. I’m nothing but my father’s little puppet, his little bitch boy. We need to end them, and I might just know a way.
