5. Chapter Five

CHAPTER FIVE

MAYLEE

N erves ran through her as they continued to the Little room. They had passed some things she would have rather not seen the first night. People cuffed to a cross, getting spanked, tied up, and people naked. It was all out of her element.

“You’re okay,” Ezra whispered as he wrapped his arm around her. “We’re almost there.”

Maybe later she would be able to explore the club’s other rooms, but right now, just getting to the Littles area was nerve-wracking enough. Was she really going to be able to do this?

“All right. Down this hall and then we’ll get to the big room,” Ezra said. “If you need anything, let me know. We can stop and go to a room at any point.”

“Okay,” she replied.

The nerves were obvious in her voice. No doubt Ezra could hear this as well. She was only going to watch. Ezra had told her they didn’t have to interact with anyone if she didn’t want to.

“Ready?” Ezra asked as they approached a door. It wasn’t really a question, but he was being nice and asking.

“Yes, Sir,” she whispered.

If she had it her way, she would never enter the room. Ezra had to know that. He opened the door and they both went in. Her ears were assaulted with laughter, yelling, screaming, crying, and scolding.

The noise immediately started to overwhelm Maylee, and she squeezed Ezra’s hand hard as she took in everything. People were coloring, building blocks, playing with dolls, silly putty, play dough, getting spanked or sat in time out, or snuggled with their caregivers.

Her eyes went wide as she looked around the room some more. It was huge, with so many different things to play with. Most of the caregivers were standing up against the wall or sitting in chairs, leaving the Littles to play by themselves or with each other.

“How are you feeling?” Ezra asked as he squatted down next to her.

She had felt small holding his hand when he was standing up, but now she felt even smaller.

“No lies,” Ezra reminded her. “I need the honest truth, so I know how to help you.”

“Overwhelmed,” she whispered.

How was she going to do this? How was she going to play when she didn’t even know if she was a Little? Ezra had said she didn’t have to interact with anyone, and they could only watch. But what if she eventually did want to play with them? What if she wasn’t a Little?

Ezra moved to where he was standing in front of her. “Take a deep breath for me.”

She slowly took a deep breath, her eyes trained on him.

“Such a good girl,” he whispered.

Maylee shivered and felt herself getting turned on. There he was, calling her a good girl again. She didn’t know how much more she could take. He was setting fire to something inside her, and it was spreading across her body.

Okay, she did know what it was. Maylee loved him and was attracted to him. Him calling her a good girl was only deepening how she felt about him.

“How are you feeling now?” Ezra asked. “Eyes on me. I want your focus on me as you answer the questions.”

She hadn’t even realized her gaze was drifting away from him and back to the room where all the Littles and caregivers were.

“Sorry, Sir.” She scrunched up her nose. ‘Sir’ still didn’t sound right to her. “I’m still overwhelmed.”

Maylee didn’t know if she would stop being overwhelmed. It was a lot to take in all at once. Even if she came back, she didn’t know if she would be more comfortable than right now.

“That’s okay. Do you want to stay here and continue to watch, or do you want to go to a room and talk about everything?” Ezra asked.

Part of her wanted to stay and watch but the other part of her wanted to go to the room. She wanted to have some quiet so she could get her bearings and not freak out .

“Room,” she replied.

Ezra stood up and held out his hand. She hadn’t even realized she’d let go of his hand while she was looking and talking to him. Maylee grabbed his hand, and he led her out of the room and down the hall.

“Everything okay?” someone asked.

She looked up to see it was Johnny, a Deadwood local. She didn’t know Johnny well, but she had gone to school with his sister, MaryLynn.

“We’re okay. Just going to a room to talk about things,” Ezra said.

But Johnny wasn’t focused on Ezra. He was focused on her.

“No offense, but I wasn’t asking you,” Johnny said. “I’m one of the monitors tonight. I’m asking Maylee.”

Her eyes widened. She had not expected that. Maylee looked up at Ezra, and he gave her a nod.

“You’re okay. He’s just doing his job,” Ezra said. “Remember what Leif said? The monitors would be keeping an extra close eye on us. They are doing their jobs and want to make sure that you’re okay.”

She looked back at Johnny. This was a weird situation. She saw Johnny around town all the time, but she never figured he was all dominant. Or well, she figured he was since he was working here.

“Maylee?” Johnny said. “Are you okay? Do you need me to take you away from Ezra so we can talk? He doing anything you don’t like?”

She blinked several times, startled by his questions. Did he really think Ezra could hurt her or do anything bad? Did he have another side of him she didn’t know about? Why was he asking these questions?

“I, uh,” she jumbled out.

“Take a deep breath.” Ezra gave her hand a squeeze.

She closed her eyes and drew a deep breath. Everything she had witnessed overwhelmed her, and now Johnny was asking her all sorts of questions.

“She’s a bit overwhelmed,” Ezra said. “First night and all.”

“I get that, but I do need Maylee to answer my questions. It’s protocol,” Johnny replied. “We take these things very seriously at Black Vault.”

“I know you do. I’m just letting you know. May want to ask her the questions one at a time so her brain doesn’t go into overload.”

It was touching that Ezra was still taking care of her at a time like this. Johnny was asking her all the questions, yet Ezra was understanding and patient.

“Can you look at me, Maylee?” Johnny asked.

She opened her eyes and looked at him. He had bent down so they were now at eye level. It made her feel small, like when Ezra did it, but not nearly as small. She couldn’t describe the small feeling. All she knew was she felt submissive, as if she was young and couldn’t make decisions for herself.

“Are you okay?” he asked.

“Yes, Sir. J-just a bit overwhelmed,” she whispered.

“Do you need me to take you away from Ezra so we can talk about something?”

She shook her head .

“Words, May,” Johnny said. “I need words tonight.”

“No, Sir. I don’t,” she replied. It felt more natural to call him Sir than to call Ezra Sir. Daddy was definitely Ezra, but she obviously couldn’t call him that.

“Has he done anything you don’t like tonight?”

She shook her head. “No, Sir. He hasn’t.”

“Good. If anything changes you let me know. Understand?”

“Yes, Sir.”

Johnny stood to his full height and looked at Ezra. “You’re going to a room?”

“Yes, we are. Just a quiet place to discuss what she saw and also to help her decompress a little,” Ezra replied.

“You can use room two. You may not close the curtain, and the door has to be cracked a little bit. Some other monitors and I will be checking in every once in a while.”

“Understood.”

“Thank you,” she whispered.

It was nice they took safety seriously. It made her feel safe, like she was supposed to, and more relaxed and at ease.

“Have a good time now,” Johnny said, “but don’t have too much fun.”

She giggled, and Ezra started to pull her along. She waved at Johnny before turning around to see where they were going. Maylee had no clue where the room was.

The club was so big. It had two, maybe three floors, and it felt and looked like a mile long. It wasn’t actually a mile long, but it felt like it.

“Here’s room two,” Ezra said as he opened the door.

She stepped in, and it was like a breath of fresh air. Quiet and calm. Just what she needed. Maylee hadn’t realized how much she desired the stillness to regain her composure.

The first thing she saw in the room were two large chairs that could seat at least two people on one of them. She let go of Ezra’s hand, went over to the chairs, and sat down in one of them.

“Such a good girl.” Ezra sat right next to her.

Her face was growing hot again. Had she told him to stop calling her a good girl but also to continue doing so? She so badly wanted to tell him to stop so that she didn’t get even more attached than she was, but at the same time, she didn’t want him to stop because she loved it when he called her a good girl.

It made her feel special. She had never heard Ezra call another girl a good girl. Maybe he called girls that when she wasn’t around. She didn’t know.

“I think you like being called a good girl. Does it turn you on? Make you feel all gooey inside?” he asked.

Maylee looked away. Guilty as charged. He knew exactly what it did to her, and she had a suspicion he would continue.

“I’ll have that on another day, but right now we need to talk about how you’re feeling and everything that you saw. Can you look at me?”

She didn’t want to, and she honestly didn’t want to talk about what she’d seen, and how she was feeling. It was too much, and Maylee didn’t feel like she had fully comprehended what she’d seen.

It was almost like one of the books she had read. Maylee honestly hadn’t expected it to be close to what she’d read. Her books were fiction, and this was real life, and they were almost the same.

She had no doubt there were things different from the books she had read. Not everything was sunshine and rainbows or ended on a happily ever after. Her story was obviously not going to end happily ever after. Maylee couldn’t have the love of her life because that ship had already sailed, and it had done so a long time ago.

“No hiding from this. You can’t shut down on me now. I know it’s overwhelming, but it might help if you talk about it,” Ezra said.

He was right, but she didn’t want to talk about it. Why would she if she might possibly cry? She didn’t want to cry in front of him. Maylee had cried in front of him several times, but she tried to keep it to a minimum.

“I’m here for you, and you can tell me anything. I’ll always listen to you. When you want to rant, talk something through, or anything,” Ezra said. “I’m serious.”

“Anything?” she whispered.

Maylee knew she could talk to him about anything, but this felt so different. It was on a whole other level, and it was also the first time ever. Her nerves were taut at the mere thought of talking about it.

“Yes, anything,” he replied.

Usually, she did tell him everything. Almost. He didn’t know everything about her.

“I—” She took a deep breath. It was so hard to voice what she was thinking—hard to put it into words.

“You’re okay. You’re in a safe place,” Ezra reminded her.

“I don’t know if I can do it at a club in front of people. I don’t even know if I’m a Little,” she rushed out. “What if I tried and failed in front of everyone? What if I embarrassed myself or even you! I don’t want to do that.”

Ezra nodded. “I have a proposition.”

She leaned forward, waiting for him to tell her what it was.

“How about while we figure it out, we do it at your house or my house?” Ezra said. “We can meet up at least twice a week and try different things to see if you are a Little.”

Maylee didn’t know what to say to that. She hadn’t thought it was an option. It sounded better than attempting to try it at the club and failing. If she could fail. He hasn’t said anything about her embarrassing him or failing.

“Would you like to do that?” Ezra asked.

“Yes?” she whispered in more of a question.

“Are you sure or just want to say that to appease me?”

She shook her head. Maylee wasn’t saying that to appease him.

“Which is it?”

“Yes, I want to do it in one of our homes,” she replied.

Ezra smiled. “Great. And I want to let you know something. You can never embarrass me. I promise you that.”

“But this is different.”

“Nope. It’s not. Nothing you do will ever embarrass me. I promise. If you find out you are a Little, and accidentally pee your pants in public, I won’t be embarrassed. I’ll make sure you are taken care of and give you all the cuddles you need after.”

She blinked several times. In general, her peeing herself was weird to think about but at the same time it intrigued her. Obviously, with her wearing a diaper.

“Hmmm, does that interest you?” Ezra asked. “Wearing a diaper and peeing yourself?”

Right as she was about to look away, Johnny popped his head into the room.

“How’s everything going?” he asked. “You doing okay, Maylee?”

She nodded, still at a loss for words. Her mind was still on Ezra talking about her peeing herself in a diaper. It was like he could read her every thought.

Maylee gasped and turned towards him. “Can you read my mind?” she whispered.

Ezra chuckled and shook his head. “No, Lee. I can’t. I saw your pupils dilate at the mention of it.”

“Maylee?” Johnny called her name. “Eyes on me.”

She looked over at him. “Yes?”

“I need words. Are you still doing okay? Not feeling uncomfortable? Ezra hasn’t done anything to make you uncomfortable or ignored your safeword?”

“I’m good, and no to all the other questions, I think. He hasn’t done anything to make me uncomfortable.”

“Good. You guys going to stay in here longer?”

Maylee looked back at Ezra. Were they?

“Do you want to start today, or do you want to start next week?” Ezra asked.

“Today,” she replied before she could stop herself.

“Your house or my house?”

“Yours, since you probably have everything. ”

Ezra turned to Johnny. “We’re going back to my house. So, we won’t be needing the room anymore.”

She looked at Johnny, who was already staring at her.

“Can I talk to Maylee alone for a second?” Johnny asked.

“Yes,” Ezra replied. “I’ll be right outside.”

Maylee watched as he left, and Johnny knelt in front of her.

“I need you to pay attention. I know you and Ezra are best friends and have known each other your whole lives. But I need you to listen. You don’t have to go over to his house and do this if you don’t want to. You are allowed to say no,” Johnny said.

Her mouth hung open. She had not expected him to say that.

“I don’t want you to only be saying yes because he wants it. If you don’t, you can let me know, and I’ll deal with Ezra.”

“Thank you, but I really do want this,” she whispered. “I need to know if I’m a Little or not.”

Johnny nodded. “If it changes at all, you call me or Lucas.”

Lucas was the town’s sheriff.

“I will.”

“Good. Have fun,” he said as he rose then left the room.

Ezra popped his head through the door. “Ready to go to my house?”

“Yes, Sir.”
