Chapter Eleven
Ryatt
“I appreciate you giving me a ride.” Another day. Another favor. More proof that I still wasn’t done getting myself into difficult situations. I ran my palms over the new jeans McKelle had picked up for me this week. New shirt, new underwear, even new steel-toe boots.
I felt better than I looked. The swelling had gone down, but I was a macabre masterpiece of bruises.
“I needed to get out of the house.” Levi smiled, then turned back to the road.
“I go a little crazy. Romeo’s busy at the shop.
Dozer too, but he wouldn’t want to hang out with me and Rosie anyway.
Pippa is crazy busy with school. I have all my classes online so I can stay home with the baby.
Hana’s got another tattoo artist in the shop because she’s busy.
Sometimes, I just get a little jealous because my life is diapers and laundry. ”
She smirked. “You getting beat up is the most excitement I’ve had in a while.”
“I’ll see what I can do to keep you entertained.” I thought of my situation. “Maybe Cruz will drag me to the basement.”
“I don’t think he wants to fight you.”
I groaned and leaned my head back. I’d wrapped my head around the idea of sharing McKelle. At least, both of us dating her. Both of us sleeping with her, but I hadn’t expected to share her. At the same fucking time, but it seemed like that was where this was headed.
This morning had started the same as every day this week, with the three of us kissing.
Only this time, Cruz had touched me. At first, just an accidental brushing of his hand against mine as we both touched McKelle.
But then, when I’d been kissing her, Cruz had gripped my arm, and I’d had my hand on his hip.
My heart jolted, and my cock thickened with the memory.
“If you’re worried what people will say, you shouldn’t.”
I listened to Levi and stared out the passenger side window. “It’s early days for me and McKelle. I’ve got no expectations.”
Levi cocked a brow. “She does.”
I grumbled. “She can’t let him go.”
“She can’t let you go either.”
“Am I fucking crazy, Levi? Prospecting for the club, dating a girl who is in love with a guy that has…”
I was going to say killed for me, but I wasn’t ready to voice my feelings for Cruz because there was more between us than the Kings.
I’d hated the tension between Cruz and McKelle’s dad.
I’d sympathized with Cruz because with foster families, I’d been desperate for approval when nothing I’d do would make a difference.
I’d also been jealous of the way her sister was with him.
And I was hard as fuck when we were in bed with McKelle.
When he kissed her, I imagined what it would feel like to be wanted like that. Wanted to the point of obsession.
“Yes, you’re crazy. So is McKelle, and Cruz is next level.
” Levi tilted her head to the side. “That doesn’t mean getting involved with them won’t work.
People thought I was crazy for waiting for Romeo.
Everyone knows Jazzy is certifiable for going after Rogue.
And no one understands Dozer the way Pippa does.
If someone doesn’t like McKelle having two incredible men want her, you know what? ”
I glanced at her.
“Fuck them.” Her lips twitched with a smile.
“You know, I’ve grown a lot in my opinions.
Romeo and Dozer used to date Pippa. And by date, I mean sleep with her, at the same time.
Romeo was wild before he figured out what was important.
” She cast a quick glance at me. “Don’t wait until you lose everything to figure out what’s most important. ”
We drove in silence for a few minutes. “Can we make a stop before we head over to my probation officer’s office?”
***
Levi pulled into the parking lot of the health clinic.
“Do you want to wait in the car?” I wrapped my fingers around the door handle. “It shouldn’t take long.”
“If Rosie wakes up, we’ll come inside.”
I exited the car and entered the clinic. Today could be a long one, and I wanted to show both McKelle and Cruz I was serious about being with them. Levi was right. I wasn’t going to sabotage the chance for something with them because of my insecurities.
Once I got to Ted’s office, I assumed I’d have some explaining to do. I’d needed a couple of days recovery, and I had no doubt Treena reported my missed curfews. That would make for an easy eviction from my room.
I wished I could’ve talked with Willy myself, but Tank confirmed that the Hellers’ attorney had spoken to Ted.
I just needed to go in and get my paperwork current.
However, I didn’t have a record of my work hours for this week, so I didn’t know how well that was going to go down.
I’d have to take an extra-long piss to distract Ted from fucking my life over.
Inside the clinic, I approached the counter, gave the receptionist my name, and requested the STD screening.
Once I’d filled out the patient sheet, she pointed to the waiting room. Her lips pursed into a frown as she stared at my face. “You can wait over there. They’ll call your name.”
I sat in the chair and pulled out the new phone Cruz had bought me. The fucker put me on his service plan and programmed his and McKelle’s numbers into the phone.
Rizz: I’m at the clinic.
Fucking Cruz. He programmed my name as Rizz.
Micki: I thought we were all going together this afternoon.
Micki. That he’d use his pet name for her in my phone said everything about how he viewed the three of us.
Rizz: I’m on my way to my PO. I could be there for a while.
Micki: I’ll wait for you at the MC with Cruz.
My knee bounced as I considered what I wanted to text.
I wanted to tell her that I wanted her on my mouth, riding my face the way she rode her bike, and with my hands on the smooth curves of her ass.
I wanted these fucking bruised ribs to heal because I didn’t want to wait six hours to be with her. Fuck waiting six weeks.
Instead of graphically describing the way I wanted to fuck her, I typed, Rizz: In bed?
Micki: I want to be.
Heat slipped through my veins, and my pulse hit the redline.
I was aware we wouldn’t be alone. Cruz was in her heart, and he’d gotten into my head.
I couldn’t stop thinking about us all together.
Riding two up was going to hit different once we were all in one bed, not to sleep which we’d already been doing.
But Cruz and I—together—with McKelle, both of us riding her, because I had no doubt that’s where we were headed.
I’d never had anything this good in my life. I’d rather have them for some time, even if it ends up not being a long time.
Rizz: I want to be there.
I took a breath and went all in.
Rizz: With both of you.
I waited for her to reply. After a moment, dots filled the bubble.
Micki: Tell your pervy PO this is mine now.
Then she inserted an eggplant emoji. I chuckled and poised my thumb to type out a reply.
“Ryatt?”
I lifted my gaze to the medical assistant calling my name. I stood, stuffed the phone into my pocket and followed her into the exam room.
She held a file in her hand. “I have you here for a screening, but you should have the nurse look at those bruises. How long have you had them?”
“I’m good. I’ve seen a doctor.” Not technically, but Levi was close enough. She stitched up Hellers. That was good enough for me.
Twenty minutes later, they had my sexual history, blood and urine samples, and the nurse had thoroughly examined my junk for sores and lesions. It was the one place the Kings hadn’t damaged.
When I walked out of the back area, Levi waited in the waiting room with Rosie on her shoulder.
“Sorry. It took a little longer than I expected.” I picked up the baby carrier, and escorted Levi out of the clinic.
“I’m your Uber for the day.” She lifted her face, squinted against the bright sunshine, and smiled at me. “We’re not on a schedule. But she is. I’ll feed her while you’re in with your probation officer.”
I opened the rear car door, put the carrier on the base, and Levi strapped Rosie into her car seat. “Do you want to hit a drive-thru and grab some lunch?”
She nodded and climbed behind the wheel. Once we picked up burgers, fries, and sodas, she drove to Ted’s office and parked out front.
“I don’t know how long I’ll be.” My throat constricted as I stared at the professional building. “It’s usually not more than a few minutes.” Long enough for Ted to lord over me and check out my dick.
Levi stuffed a fry into her mouth. “We’re fine.”
I’d eat after my check-in. My guts were too twisted. “If you need to leave, just text me.”
She licked salt from her fingers and pulled out her phone. “Give me your new number.”
I couldn’t remember the number. I chuckled and pulled out my phone. Once we shared contact information, I pushed open the door.
“It’ll be okay, Ryatt. You haven’t done anything wrong.”
Not according to the terms of my probation.
I’d missed check-ins, missed curfews, and associated with known criminals.
Not by choice, but Kings hadn’t been concerned with the rules of my probation.
As for Hellers, I wouldn’t call the guys criminals even though they blurred legal lines. Hellers had their own form of justice.
But even with my infractions, I’d been coming to Ted for more than three months without issues. That had to count for something.
I began to sweat as I entered the building. I’d never had this much to lose before.
Inside the office, I approached the bulletproof glass. I could never remember the name of his receptionist. “I’m here to see Ted.”
“Oh, Ryatt. What happened to you?”
“I wrecked my bike.”
