Chapter 9 FINN

FINN

My chair swiveled around in aimless circles across from Alex’s desk in his new office—when had he moved?

—my thoughts falling back to the precious moments from this morning with Jade.

Dad hadn’t bothered us all night, as I knew he wouldn’t, Jade tucking herself under my covers after I had thoroughly used her.

I couldn’t complain and neither could the other alters as we curled into her side and breathed in her spring scent, her blonde hair splayed out across the pillow.

Jade hadn’t been all that excited to leave this morning without me, wanting to see where the ‘magic happened’ but having her here would ruin plan A.

A kiss goodbye in the foyer had turned into a make-out session against the front door, much to my father’s delight—fucking weirdo—leaving me with a semi that I had to ignore.

I would have rather jumped into bed with one of my men to give me the orgasm that I needed but Jade would have to do.

But later, because no one could know about my little hidden ace before I was ready. No one.

You mean that our men can’t know. Why not?

He’s got plans! Haven’t you heard? SO. MANY. PLANS.

The sarcastic bitterness in Daemon’s voice was obvious as I continued to drink in the ambiance of this extravagant office. It didn’t suit Alex in the slightest, but I guessed The Revival’s sales had been pretty good with the gossip column the company had started a few months ago.

I stopped swirling when I heard a pen tapping against the desk and abruptly stopped to stare at the man whose office I was currently in. Right. He had called me in based on an email I had sent at promptly 8 am, moments after parking my new midnight BMW. Finn did not take buses.

My boss’ jaw had dropped to his chin as he stared at me before regaining his composure and leaning back in his chair with the apathetic demeanor I expected from him. “I’m sorry. I think I didn’t hear you correctly. You want to write an exclusive on them now? What brought this on?”

I waited a moment, having brought out the other personalities so that I could hear their response. 1… 2…

Holy fuck, no way.

Samael’s going to fucking murder you.

Forget Samael. Slash is the one I’m worried about. He seems the most fucked up in the head.

Hello? Aeron EATS people.

I stifled a chuckle as I shoved them back into their room and locked the door, the start of an argument inevitable but this was part of the plan too.

I needed to draw them out, play with their feelings, and let them know how much they had hurt me by stuffing me into that void. And then we could have fun.

So much fun.

Samael wanted to play, which was all fun and games until someone got hurt.

I’d start my exclusive with his life and that wonderful weekend we spent together.

I’d accidentally mention a few other things that would have people start wondering about his occupation and where all that ‘old money’ came from.

It was perfect timing to reignite the flames under their asses as my new codename floated through everyone’s minds. The Unknown.

When I returned home tonight, my father would want to have a discussion. He would want to understand how I—Finn—had returned. After all, Killian had done a really, really good job burying me.

Managing a small shrug while trying to wipe the grin off my face, I stared forward with a sheepish expression that I hoped matched Killian’s.

Not that it mattered because my eyes were different.

“I think it’s just not fair that I’m the only one who gets to see the beauty that is their past. Their past is what made them.

” Evil cackles sounded in my head as I thought of all the moments that made my men who they were.

Revealing that to the public would have me in another mental hospital or them in jail.

Or both. If I was lucky, all of us would be stuck in a mental hospital together.

My eyes widened at the prospect of my men stuffed in patient gowns, pills shoved down their throats, and nurses worried about their sanity.

I wondered how long Samael would let this game play out until he found a way to drag me beneath him and fuck my brains out.

Or until I could push him to his knees and shove my cock down his throat.

Is it all about sex with you? I thought Dark was insatiable.

Alex cleared his throat. “Okay…”

I blinked a few times to stay outside of my head, knowing that hanging around my inner monologue would get all four of us locked up in that room I had created.

It wasn’t part of the plan so it couldn’t happen.

I pushed myself to my feet, slapping Alex’s desk for good measure.

“Just keep me out of it. They’ll know where the information came from, but I don’t need the whole city beating down my door.

” I wasn’t actually going to release all of my men’s juicy details, but I needed Alex and The Gods to think I was.

Because then my men would think it was true when asked to comment. I couldn’t fucking wait to see the chaos.

“Work with Jamie first thing tomorrow and get started with Merchant. He was your most recent relationship, right? My god, this will be fantastic. Should we call this project Sapphire? No, no. This will definitely be Pearl.” Alex’s face lit up with all of the possibilities as I made my way to the door—a much farther walk than his last office.

The alters slipped out of the room as I unlocked it, waiting for their responses.

I held my metaphorical pen at the ready, waiting to add to their tallies.

Killian was up to nine, Dark three, and Daemon six.

I was betting on Daemon losing this evening but Killian so easily pissed me off.

This is not fantastic. This is a disaster. Do you know what they’ll do to you if they find out?

What they’ll do to us? Goddamn… Finn, you can’t just make decisions like this.

Why not? First off,

I’m a lot fucking scarier than they think I am.

They have no fucking idea.

Second, you guys are fakes.

Everyone knows that.

If Killian wants to fight my decision,

I MIGHT listen.

Besides, Samael started it.

Our father now knows I’m motherfucking Finn.

That wasn’t part of the plan. I glanced at the virtual version of Killian, an apathetic expression plastered on his innocent face.

I waited for him to break down as he always did, paired with the tears and sobs of agony that it was cold.

Instead, his lip curled up in the smallest smirk before disappearing, his face blank of all emotion.

No fucking way. I had thought Killian was hiding behind that bland persona and now I knew I was right.

Neither Daemon nor Dark caught onto the expression but it was only a matter of time before they realized the truth.

I waved them off as I left Alex’s office, taking a sharp turn toward the kitchen to check if one of the Karens had made something. Curiosity killed the cat but I just had to know what kind of monstrosities had been supplied today. Unfortunately, I didn’t get that far.

“Oomph,” I mumbled as I ran headfirst into a woman who smelled like cherries. I licked my lips and looked up before frowning.

Get away from her. She’s a traitor.

Duly noted, Daemon. Duly noted.

The girl whimpered and I returned it with a smile that had her cringing.

I remembered her good and well from all the times she played with Killian.

I hated people like her, the ones who were so fucking fake that you couldn’t tell the mask from reality.

“Hey,” I purred, “No hard feelings, right? You were just doing your job.”

What the fuck are you talking about? She tried to turn on us for a story!

Finn, tread lightly.

Killian leaned back, head tilted, watching me with an amused expression.

Even in their metaphorical bodies, I could sense that Killian was enjoying this.

It reminded me of the moments before I was locked away in the void and suffered for three years.

There was no fucking way he had another plan like that, not when I was so close to accomplishing everything I wanted in life.

I narrowed my gaze at him before realizing Nyla hadn’t responded to me.

She was still staring, obviously unnerved by my appearance and even more so that I was addressing her. Ever since she had moved up the ladder, the alters hadn’t spared her any attention.

“Do… do you need something?” She clutched the folders in her hands tighter to her chest.

“Just wanted to catch up. Gary is a little shit and he’s annoying as fuck. Let’s go to Bondage Palace. First round is on me.” The comment about Gary got me a small smile, but that’s all it did.

Her body tensed, her head tilting to the side as she tried to read me.

Her eyes grazed over the piercings accentuating my features, the dark clothing, and my newest scar ‘REMEMBER’ carved into my arm.

Dad had wanted me to cover it up but I liked the brand.

I mean… I made it. Daemon and Dark were screaming at me to leave her alone but I needed her.

Nyla was part of the plan. “You’re not Killian or the other ones.

Your eyes are different,” She finally said, her words barely above a whisper.

“You really are smarter than you look. Come on, it’ll be fun.” Fun was stretching it a bit.

She shivered and then nodded, her expression softening at the promise of whatever I had planned.

Knowing she had a crush on me made this easy.

“Yes, yes sure.” Nyla made her way down the hall as I returned to my cubicle, glaring at Gary to keep his attention on his computer screen.

He complied rather quickly after I snarled at him.

I whipped out my phone and shot off a text to Jade about joining me tonight for a rather kinky outing.

Bondage Palace?

Do you even have to ask? I’ll be there at 8.

A sinister smile spread across my lips as I cracked my knuckles and started on my next column. The plan was coming along nicely.
