Epilogue

The bride and her party sat inside the back room of the little church sipping champagne. Patsy couldn’t keep the smile off her face. She glanced over to Bella who smirked at her. She raised a quizzical eyebrow at her best friend, and laughed.

“He didn’t appeal to you, huh?” Bella laughed.

“Do you honestly think I would ever admit that to any of you? I’d never live it down.”

“I’m glad you finally came to your senses. That man is fine,” Chloe Bateman said.

“I think we all have fine men. I can’t imagine Lucas not being in my life,” Emily Taggart said before taking a sip of her champagne.

“I think I’ll definitely like having Micah as a son in-law,” Lorraine Murphy said smiling. “Your dad likes him too.”

“I’m so happy that you and Daddy like him but I’d marry him even if you didn’t.” Patsy laughed.

Roni Cole, Megan Walker, and Kendra Lang laughed along with her.

“I am so happy that all you ladies agreed to be my attendants. I love all of you and treasure our friendship,” she said and blinked back tears.

“Don’t you dare cry and muss your makeup,” Roni chastised her, all the while blinking tears from her own eyes.

“I’m truly happy for you and Micah. He’s a wonderful man and adores you. I can see it anytime he looks at you, and he looks at you a lot ,” Bella said with a grin.

“When he came striding into your bedroom at the mansion, Bella, I think I fell right then. I’d never seen a man who commanded such a presence. He just captivated me. I told him when I went to him that I didn’t want to put any of you in danger, but it was just me wanting an excuse to be with him. Then I had to have him. Being near him all the time was making me horny as hell.” Patsy looked at her mom. “Sorry, Mom.”

“No worries, honey. You’re a grown woman.” Lorraine laughed.

“I still can’t believe I made the first move by asking him to get into the Jacuzzi tub with me.” Patsy moaned and put her hands over her face in embarrassment.

“But you did, and he did,” Shelly Walker said grinning.

“I about died when he stripped out of his clothes and got in there with me then he takes me horseback riding like it was an everyday thing. He’s an enigma. One minute he’d be in his suit and the next he’d be wearing jeans, cowboy hat, and boots. But when he’d wear those sweatpants…damn.” Patsy sighed, and the women howled with laughter.

A knock on the door startled them all and they all hushed as the door opened and Allan Murphy stepped in, lifting an eyebrow questioningly.

“I have a feeling I don’t want to know what you’re all laughing about,” he said with a smile.

“Trust me, hon, you really don’t want to know.” Lorraine kissed her husband’s cheek.

Allan shook his head.

“And they say we men are bad. Come on, cupcake, let’s get you married. Micah is chomping at the bit.” He offered his elbow to Patsy and she slipped her arm through it.

“I’m so ready, Daddy.”

They walked out of the room with her attendants following. She never thought she’d have a big wedding but she had six bridesmaids, and Bella as her matron of honor. She loved everyone one of them and considered them her sisters. Taking a deep breath, Patsy made her way to the vestibule.

Micah stood leaning against the wall with his arms folded as he watched his friends teasing each other. He wished Coby could have made it to the wedding but he was on assignment. He chuckled when Lucas held up his middle finger in response to one of them .

“You’re in church, Lucas,” Mont said shaking his head.

“Like that makes a difference to him,” Storm Bateman said laughing.

Dakota Walker moved to stand beside Micah and gave him a sideways glance. “You ready for this?”

“I am.”

“Good. Patsy is one hell of a good woman. Sure took you two long enough, you all are almost as bad as Storm and Chloe.”

Micah grinned. “I don’t think anyone’s as bad as those two at procrastinating.”

“Hey, we got there, didn’t we?” Storm asked them with a scowl.

“Hell, Storm, we all knew you were in love with her,” Lincoln said smacking him on the shoulder.

“Yeah, you’ve all told me enough times.”

“But you do love her,” Cooper Lang said grinning.

“Yep, just as you all love your wives and now Micah will join us as a happily married man.”

Micah shrugged. He didn’t mind that idea at all.

“I love Patsy. I think I fell in love with her the minute I saw her glaring up at me, defending Bella. She may be little but she’s feisty.”

“I can attest to those petite women being feisty. Kendra can be mean as hell when she gets riled up.” Cooper shook his head .

“I’m just glad you’re happy, Micah, and going to be a deputy in my department,” Nathan said slapping him on the back.

“I appreciate the job, Nathan. I like it.”

“You just like working with me again,” Mont said grinning.

“You wish, Montgomery .”

He laughed when Mont threw up his middle finger then all the men laughed when the reverend entered the room just in time to see Mont doing it.

“Montgomery Bradford, you are in church,” the reverend said, shaking his head and clucking his tongue. “Why am I even bothering? You boys will never behave. I don’t envy your wives at all. I came in to tell you it’s time, Micah.”

Micah pushed away from the wall and started for the door to head to the altar. Mont was right behind him with his hand on his shoulder.

“I’m really happy for you, Micah.”

“Thanks, Mont. I promise to be good to her.”

Mont chuckled. “You’d better be or Isabella will kick your ass.”

Micah laughed when he saw the reverend shake his head at Mont’s words. They entered the church to stand at the altar and await the bride. He couldn’t wait to see her and when he did, he hissed in a breath. She was exquisite. Her white gown hugged her body like a second skin. Her long hair was up in a loose bun with tendrils framing her beautiful face while a ring of white roses encircled her head. God, he loved her so much.

“She’s so beautiful,” he whispered aloud to no one in particular.

“That she is,” Mont said quietly from alongside him.

When Allan Murphy stood in front of him with Patsy at his side, Micah stared at her in awe then he mentally shook his head and took her hand in his to help her up the steps to stand next to him.

“You look amazing,” he said.

Her face lit up. “Thank you and you look so sexy in your tux.”

He smirked. “I can’t wait to get out of this thing.”

Patsy laughed low in her throat. “I can’t wait to get you out of that thing.”

Both of them grinned when the reverend cleared his throat. Micah looked at him and shrugged.

“Sorry, Father. Please proceed.”

He looked at Patsy and leaned in close. “But I can’t wait to get you out of that dress either.”

“I give up,” the reverend said making all of them within hearing range laugh.

He held her hand the entire time until the exchanging of the rings then he lifted her hand to his lips and kissed her knuckles. He grinned when Patsy sighed.

When the reverend announced them husband and wife and told him he could kiss the bride, he murmured. “With pleasure.”

He pressed his lips to hers and when she moaned, he pulled her tight against him with his hands on her ass, and deepened the kiss. Raising his head, he stared into her eyes and saw love reflected there.

“I will always love you, Patsy.”

“And I will always love you , my big bad FBI agent.”

Micah shook his head and laughed. “Damn pixie.”
