They taught demonology in primary school and that Lilith was the origin of our species, but I didn’t think a single one of us knew why she created imps, incubi, or succubae. It made a lot of sense. There was probably a reason for every last one of us.

I’d ask later because we needed to regroup.

Sydney wasn’t going to demand Abaddon get involved.

She would have said it was a shitty thing to trigger someone who worked on themselves and it was, but we didn’t want the Beast of Eden rampaging through Hell because we couldn’t direct that. He’d kill all of us.

“How long before I can get out of bed and bitch smack Asmodeus around until he answers me? Satan is being a bit of a chicken shit for being seven feet tall.”

Sydney could probably stand to be a little more afraid.

She had no idea what the drugs in Hell were like.

Some of them were stolen from the mortal realm and then the atmosphere in Hell mutated the plants so they were a million times more potent.

Someone knew the right combination to take down Lucifer and Satan.

“We’re low in angel allies, killer. Lucifer is missing and Abaddon is a liability. You have no idea how to use your magic and your wings are still fragile. If Satan doesn’t want to go in without backup when they are playing dirty with drugs, maybe give him that.”

“That’s valid, but you’re forgetting Wrathhog. I know she could slap a bitch around.”

“I don’t doubt it,” Nero said. “I just don’t think her dad is going to put her in that position. If someone would protect me, he could always just bring me.”

That could work, but it was way too dangerous. Nero could manipulate Asmodeus into thinking Satan was safe and an ally to tell his secrets to. If Asmodeus caught on, he could legally kill Nero before Satan could do anything about it.

Even Sydney knew that and she just got here.

“I’d protect you, but I don’t think I’m enough right now.”

I had this feeling when Sydney learned to use her magic, she could protect all of us.
