Ididn’t think I’d live to see this day. Lucifer coming home was always a possibility, but him addressing all of Hell that he was throwing a realm wide party to celebrate that they were turning the ruling of Hell over to demons wasn’t on my bingo card.

I also didn’t have Lucifer coming to the bad parts of Hell to party with my mom and Celix’s mom because he said meeting the in-laws was important. It was hard to bullshit a succubus, but Mom was eating this up and he was doing it in a way that didn’t offend Dad.

And all our parents adored Sydney. We filled our parents in on everything before we went out to the street party and now they were fussing over Kujo. He pretended to hate every minute of it, but he couldn’t fool an incubus. Kujo’s heart was growing three sizes.

“You should visit more. Your sisters miss you.”

Kujo cleared his throat. Celix’s very young sister decided they were soulmates a few years ago.

She was only sixteen and pushing her limits.

She’d put Kujo in some uncomfortable situations and while he was mean to literally everyone, he wasn’t going to destroy a child having their first crush. He adored our families.

“Oh, I’m sorry, Kujo. She met a boy her age and has moved on. He’s her new soulmate. It’s why she’s not here. She wanted to go to the celebration with him and asked me to let you down easy.”

Kujo could have been an absolute ass about it. If Celix’s sister had been an adult and not related to him, he already would have. He just placed his hand over his heart.

“Tell her I’m devastated, but I’ll manage to move on. I’m not one to stand in the way of one’s soulmate.”

“Especially since the three of you managed to find your own.”

Our relationship might be weird to angels, but a lot of demons did this kind of thing.

If an incubus and a succubus paired up, it usually balanced out, but if we didn’t, it was usually safer to have more people for us to feed on.

My mom knew that and so did Celix’s mom.

Lucifer thought the sun shone out of his daughter’s ass, but deep down, he knew that too.

I pegged Lucifer and Satan for coming to the party with the demons, but Mammon, Belphegor, and Beelzebub were here too and they were trying. Celix’s nieces and nephews were crawling all over Mammon. He seemed to be in wonder of the whole thing and actually good with kids.

Belphegor looked uncomfortable and kept hanging around Satan like he wanted him to protect him from us degenerates, but he was polite when demons approached. Satan and his wife were mingling, but Lucifer was mostly focused on getting to know our families.

That left Beelzebub. That angel really liked food. He got distracted by a food truck in the market and we hadn’t seen him since. I was fairly certain he was off having more fun than Belphegor was because the street food in my old neighborhood was amazing.

My older sister adored Sydney like I knew she would, but she had a healthy distrust of angels.

Amira was absolutely gorgeous and could throw a decent punch, but her strongest weapon was her magic and it was against the law for her to use it if some man wanted to take from her because she was a succubus.

“Is this even real?” she demanded. “You’re just going to give up lording over us? How is this even going to work?”

Yeah, my sister was the type to challenge the devil. I hadn’t known him that long, but I could tell he found it amusing.

“It’s very real. I haven’t enjoyed lording over anyone for a very long time. Believe it or not, this would have happened ages ago, but we didn’t all agree on it. We do now. Those of us that wanted this have thought about it and planned for it.”

“How would it work?” Celix asked.

Because if it didn’t work just right, then the upper demons would just take the place of the Fallen and nothing would change. Celix and I hadn’t been planning for this as long as Lucifer had, but we were considered lower demons, so it was pretty obvious to us.

“If you do it by location, then the lower demons are going to still get shat on,” Sydney said. “And I hate that term. We need to do away with it.”

“I agree and we actually thought about that. The best way to change all of this is to have each type of demon elect two people to represent them when it comes to matters that affect everyone and then have the provinces elect their own local leaders. Before we step down, we’re striking a lot of laws down.

We’re doing away with the hierarchy and anything that prevents any type of demon from defending themselves.

Does this work for you? Because we all have a present for the rest of Hell. ”

Yeah, that would actually work. I wasn’t like Kujo, but I could see Hell getting better. Some of the upper demons weren’t going to like it, but they wouldn’t be upper demons anymore and there wasn’t much they could do about it.

“That’s awesome,” Sydney said.

“Good. Now, let your old man show off a bit. I’ll teach you how to do this, but you’re going to need to learn to fly first.”

All the Fallen took their shirts off and brought their wings out. They took to the sky, and it was pretty amazing. I’d never seen this, but they were flying in formation and doing a light show.

“Holy shit, I’m going to be able to do that?” Sydney asked.

Wrathhog draped an arm around her shoulder and grinned.

“Yes, but I’m not teaching it to you. Learning that from my father is a fond memory. You missed a lot of those with your dad, but you have a lot to learn and plenty of firsts with your father.”

“Yeah, I guess I do. Let’s enjoy the party and then have our own. I’ve had a demon threesome and now I want a foursome.”

Oh, game on.
