Chapter 13 #2
He had moves to make, so he only planned to chill at the Airbnb for an hour tops.
They could link later that night. He didn’t have a lot of time to give her while she was in town, but he didn’t want to not see her at all.
She wasn’t in town for him, but he wasn’t even going to do her dirty and not see her at least a few times.
He didn’t even mind taking them to the club and showing them a good time.
Prior to meeting Symphony, Block for sure had women he dealt with, but it was strictly sex.
Even if they saw him out with another woman and felt some kind of way about it, they wouldn’t make a scene in public.
Block didn’t play that shit, and they knew it.
His phone vibrated in his pocket, and when he looked at the screen, he chuckled. Symphony rarely ever called him. Of course, she would do it now, but Ebony wasn’t in the room. And even if she was, he was single.
“What’s up?” his tone was low and lazy. The drank in his cup had him relaxed.
“Hey, are you busy?”
“No. What’s good?”
“I know where I want to go.”
“Word? Where?”
“Chicago.”
“Oh yeah?” he expected her to want to go to an island or something. Chicago was only three hours away by plane.
“Yes. I’ve only been once and that was barely two days. I didn’t get to do a lot of the things I wanted to do, and I didn’t get to eat at all the places I wanted to try.”
Block chuckled. “So, you want to go to Chicago to stuff your face full of food.”
“For the most part, but you know it is a beautiful city.”
“That it is.” Block had been to Chicago more times than he could count, and if you went to the right spots, the food was ten out of ten. “When do you want to go?”
“I can take off the fifth, sixth, seventh, and the eighth is on a Sunday, so I’ll be off anyway. As long as I’m back to go to work Monday, it’s cool.”
“Sounds like a plan. Go ahead and book the flights and let me know the total. I’ll send it to you through Apple pay.”
“I can pay for the flight, Nasir. You gave me luggage and an insane amount of money to shop with. The flight can be my treat.”
“Nah it can’t. That pussy on my face can be a treat. I’m paying for the flight and the hotel. Not to say I think you’d stay just anywhere but when you find the hotel, make sure it’s some top-of-the-line shit. I don’t give a fuck if it’s $1,000 a night. Book the best.”
“Yes sir.”
Block licked his lips as he thought about how good Symphony’s pussy was.
She was so damn pretty, and her personality was top-tier.
He was so comfortable from the lean and engrossed in his conversation that he almost forgot he was in an Airbnb with two women.
When Ebony walked into the room and saw him slouched down on the couch with his legs wide, talking on the phone in a low sexy rumble, she knew he was talking to a female.
She didn’t have the right to be jealous, but she was.
“We about to order food, bae. You want something?” Ebony’s tone was sugary sweet, but he knew what she was doing. She’d never called him bae before.
Block cut his eye at her but didn’t respond.
“I asked you if you were busy,” Symphony stated. “You can call me later. I’ll go ahead and book the flight.”
“Man, what I tell you? Book the flights while we’re on the phone, and let me know how much it is. I know what you said, and I said I wasn’t busy.”
The way he cleared Ebony without having to acknowledge her had her feeling dumb.
She walked out of the room with flaring nostrils, but she was going to go in the other room and calm down.
She had paid for her own flight and portion of the Airbnb.
This nigga was on the phone with a bitch telling her to book flights.
Ebony wanted that kind of situation with him, so she wasn’t going to act out.
She was going to calm down and play her part.
They didn’t live in the same city, and she could tell he had money.
Of course, he had women. She couldn’t let that bother her if she wanted to see the bigger picture.
There were plenty of ballers in Miami, but she wanted Block.
“Two first class flights will be $1,045.”
“Bet.”
Block removed the phone from his ear and sent her $2,500.
“Nasir.”
“Symphony.”
The way he said her name made Symphony’s kitty thump despite the fact that she was a little perturbed by hearing a woman call him bae. However, he didn’t put her off or dismiss her, so it was really none of her business.
“I’ll book the hotel later. I’m about to run out and take Mason to the mall.”
When Block found himself not wanting to get off the phone with her, he knew he was getting in deep. He didn’t even care that it was rude. He was going to chill out though. “Aight. Have a good day.”
“You too.”
Block ended the call and sat up. He had a good mind to leave since Ebony wanted to be on some funny shit. She entered the room with a sheepish grin on her face, and he glared at her.
“You didn’t tell me if you wanted any food, so I just ordered pizza and wings.”
“Who you talking to?”
Ebony frowned. “What you mean, who am I talking to? You.”
“Oh I didn’t think so because you didn’t say bae.”
Her face reddened. “It just slipped out.”
“Yeah, I’m sure it did,” he replied sarcastically.
“I don’t want no smoke,” she held her hands up in surrender.
“I know you don’t. Watch that shit.” There was warning in his tone, and that was the last one he was going to give her. He stood. “I’m out.”
Ebony’s heart thudded in her chest. She didn’t want him to leave. “I thought you were going to stay for a little while.”
“I was.” He wanted to know her actions had run him off early. “I’ll see you tonight.”
Block didn’t like playing games. Ebony knew exactly what she was doing when she called him bae.
That day was his fourth time ever seeing her in his life.
It was way too soon for her to be acting out.
That was one of the reasons he liked mature women.
Once she made it back to Miami, he probably wouldn’t be answering the phone for her anymore.
If it was one thing he didn’t have time for it was bullshit.
Inside his Range Rover, Block pushed out a deep sigh.
He had a few plays to make, and then he wanted to go check on Blak and make sure he wasn’t back in crash out mode.
Since Averi got shot and disappeared on him, Blak hadn’t been in the mood for anything.
He didn’t even want anyone looking at him.
His attitude was on a thousand, and Block knew it was a ticking time bomb waiting to happen.
He didn’t have to worry about Mario for a little bit because he meant what he said to him that day in the car.
Block wasn’t stressing himself over anyone, he didn’t give a fuck who it was.
He tried many times to teach Mario to be better than him and Tech.
If he refused to listen that’s what it was.
Block didn’t want to wait for his father to come home from prison to be in selfish mode. He was ready at that very moment.
