Chapter 16 #6
And so I lie there pissed off, eyes clenched shut and teeth gritted, enduring this horrible, humiliating act.
I feel a burning, searing hatred. My fists are clenched so hard I'm almost digging my nails into my skin.
I swear to myself that I'll get back at this son of a bitch; just wait until he's finished.
He's panting over me, breathing hard. His whole body presses down, rubbing against me. The head of his penis slides back and forth along my perineum, going up under my scrotum but stopping at my hole, not pushing inside. Thank Fate… damn it.
He speeds up, his body tensing, his breath hitching. Then he lifts his hips slightly, bracing himself on one arm while he grabs his shaft with the other. A few jerks and…
I feel a hot fountain spraying across my hole, my ass cheeks, and my back. The bastard is gasping, his ragged breath loud.
I'm filled with disgust and rage, desperate for him to finally untie my hands.
It takes him a moment. With one hand, he plays with his cum, rubbing it in circles on my ass cheeks, over my hole, and across my back. He appears to find some weird pleasure in it. And by weird, I mean really weird.
Finally, he seems to have had enough. His breathing slows down. He rolls onto his back and lies there in silence for a while, staring at the ceiling. I wait patiently, quiet, but if he thinks my rage has faded at all, he's dead wrong.
When he turns over and unties the string from my wrists, oh, I'm so fucking ready.
I make one violent throw of my body, rolling off the bed, then spring up and launch myself at him. He's too stunned by my speed to even lift his arms in time, but that wouldn't be any defense against me.
I start hitting him and don't hold back. I put all my strength and speed into it, brutally pummeling him blow after blow. He tries to fight back, but my speed and power overwhelm him. I hit too fast.
Bam, bam, bam!
Rupert tries to block, but I break through his guard from the left and right. His nose is bleeding, and his lips are crushed.
"If you think you can use my body as your fucking cum bucket, you're dead wrong! Go fuck Caspian or give your ass to Juan, but don't you ever dare come near me again, you piece of shit!" I scream, panting from rage and effort.
Finally, my hands are covered in blood. I slide off his stomach and step back a few paces to look at my handiwork.
I realize Rupert is unconscious…
"Rupert?"
Silence. A thin line of blood runs from his nose, and he looks bad. I bite my lip as a wave of unease rises in me. Shit. What if I’m in serious trouble?
I rush over to him and shake him. "Hey, you piece of shit, stop pretending; open your eyes!"
His body stays limp. He’s completely unconscious. "Fuck… fuck, damn it," I growl, pulling up my pants and bolting out of the room.
The staff office is on the other side of the promenade, so I sprint there.
On the way, I spot Caspian walking along the wall.
He sees my bloodied hands. "What happened?
" he starts, but I pass him without a word.
I turn into the staff room. One of the nurses who handles blood draws for the program participants is there. Groban.
"Hey, something happened. It all went wrong between me and Rupert. You need to help him, he’s unconscious." Groban blinks as if something got into his eye, then presses a button, snaps back into focus, and quickly leaps to his feet. He follows me back to my room.
Caspian is already there, bent over Rupert, tears running down his face. I can’t bring myself to feel sympathy for either of them. Go figure. Groban steps in, checks Rupert’s pulse, and lifts his eyelids.
"He’s alive," he says. "But we need to take him to the medical wing. Probably a concussion."
I stand by the wall, feeling like shit. Not because of Rupert, but because of what this might mean. Caspian looks at me with accusation in his eyes.
I can’t take it.
"Seriously, you have the nerve to look at me like that, slut? You were fucking with him. And with Juan too. They should kick you off the staff."
Caspian goes pale. Groban glances at him, raising a brow, but says nothing. A moment later, two alphas enter the room. One is Wilhelm; the other I don’t know. They’re carrying a stretcher and don’t ask questions. They carefully transfer Rupert onto it and take him away.
Everyone leaves; Caspian follows the nurses. He doesn’t say a word or look at me. His eyes are red.
But I’m not left alone for long. Another alpha appears in the doorway.
"You’re coming with me."
Dammit. I clench my jaw, unease rising in my chest.
People are already gathering on the promenade, watching. Something is clearly wrong. My bloodied hands draw attention. In the crowd, I spot Juan staring at me with wide eyes.
I’m led through winding corridors into a place I've only visited once, and only briefly, when I signed the paperwork: Dr. Lomax’s office.
The alpha tells me to wait outside and goes in alone. I pace, biting my lip. After a moment, he comes back out and gestures for me to enter.
I exhale. Fine, I’ll deal with it. Dr. Lomax sits behind a heavy, old-fashioned desk, the kind school principals used to have. His thin wire-frame glasses seem like the dominant feature of his narrow, rat-like face.
"There is zero tolerance for violence on this facility’s premises," he says coldly. "You signed the agreement. Any such act may result in expulsion from the program. And this is already your second incident. You assaulted Wilhelm before."
I stare at him blankly for a moment, the pieces not clicking together.
Only now do the possible scenarios fully unfold in my head. No one is going to care what actually happened. That much is clear. Rupert and I will probably both get kicked out. Which means…
…I’ll be cut off from Fenn.
And I am not ready for that. We are not done.
So. What am I supposed to do? How do I get out of this?
"Just a minor altercation," I blurt out quickly, barely believing I’m saying it. What the hell. Am I covering for a rapist? What’s wrong with me? This isn’t normal. I should tell the truth! But the truth, while it would clear things up, would only bring more trouble. Damn.
"Just a fight that went too far," I add. "Ask Rupert when he wakes up. He’ll confirm it."
Well, I remember Rupert has a lot to lose too. He needs the money. He’ll probably minimize it too. Probably?
If I’m wrong, we will deal with the consequences later.
Dr. Lomax studies me. "How is your relationship with Fenn Drax developing?"
Shit. I didn’t see that coming. "Decent," I mutter vaguely. I don’t know what to say under that pressure.
"Decent? I am an omega, Mr. Nolan."
"What’s that supposed to mean?"
I stare at him for a while, not understanding. Finally, he takes pity on me and subtly touches his nose.
Ah, yes. His sense of smell is much better than a beta’s, and I still haven’t changed. I probably reek of sex, and Fenn’s pheromones are all over me.
Dr. Lomax tilts his head.
"His sperm output has increased since he started taking an interest in you, which has been beneficial for the facility. Every evening, he’s required to provide us with several full sample cups for testing and hormone extraction.
His production had dropped off significantly before, but now it’s actually more than we need. Good job."
"What the fuck?!" I snap, "Did you seriously have to tell me that?!"
"I’m simply stating the facts."
"I could’ve lived without knowing them."
The doctor slowly rubs his narrow chin, his yellowish-gray skin looking extra unhealthy today. Is this guy smoking two packs a day or what?
"Has he told you the truth about his abilities?"
What's with his cryptic behavior today?
"I’m not sure what you mean."
"That when he has sex, it activates fertility in his partner, whether he wants it to or not."
"Isn’t that always how it was? Wasn’t that what he was doing on Calsing Island? Making them ‘preg’?"
"Not exactly. You know he’s had a vasectomy. He just opens the way. So if you had sex with him and with Rupert, the child would be Rupert’s."
Seriously, what the fuck? What is Lomax suggesting? I stand up abruptly. "I don’t know what you’re implying, but nothing like that is happening. That kind of… inappropriate stuff isn’t my thing."
"I remind you, I have a nose, Mr. Nolan."
I stay silent, gaping at him in shock. What the hell is wrong with this dude? Did he sniff out Rupert on me too? He’s good, so how the hell do I get out of this? Before I can even try to defend myself, he continues.
"I’m not judging." A corner of his mouth is twitching in something like aloofness. "I’m a scientist. I’m not concerned with moral choices."
For a moment, I stare at him. The way he says ‘scientist’ makes it sound like it excuses everything, like it frees him from basic decency. Fine. No point dragging this out. I need to leave before he figures out even more.
"Am I free to go? I’d like to see how Rupert is doing. It was just a stupid argument. Everything will be fine."
Lomax doesn’t look convinced. Not surprising. "Very well. You’re free to leave. But I will also hear Rupert’s account, as you suggested."
"Sure, sure." I move to the door so fast it feels like I’m teleporting out.
The alpha who brought me here is gone, and good. I don't need more people sniffing all over me.
I navigate the corridors blindly, trying to find my way back. I spot an elevator and head for it, hoping it will take me down to reception. It dings, and the doors open.
Fuck, four alphas!
Fortunately, they’re not interested in sniffing me, because they're very focused on something completely different… a patient.
Almost flattened against the wall, I shuffle sideways past them. But I steal a peek at the person they’re wheeling on a hospital bed inside.
And I freeze. Oh wow. This is definitely not a normal patient.
