Chapter 24

Night Owl

Phantom

Christmas Eve…

The compound is quiet at this time of night.

Hawk called to remind me that I belonged at home for Christmas, and I promised to be back to celebrate the holiday with them.

A massive Christmas tree sits in the corner of the room, hung with lights and decorations of every color imaginable.

I know this wasn’t Hawk’s doing and assume it’s the influence of the women in their lives.

I heard about Etain, Sasha, and Tessa. Hawk told me all about them when he came to visit me in jail.

I’m happy as hell that my brothers have found their soul mates.

I’m even happier to be out and home. I didn’t expect that the same day I got out of prison would be the same day that Hawk and the Riders went head-to-head with Bronson Sunderland and his team of assholes.

He’s been a thorn in our side since we settled in this town.

When I heard where Hawk was headed to meet Bronson, I knew I had to be there for my club brothers. I chose the highest vantage point I could find, and when I saw Bronson holding the gun on Hawk, I didn’t even flinch when I pulled the trigger. I aimed for his hand and hit my target.

That’s when my brothers became aware that I was with them. I gave them a two-finger salute and went on my way.

I see a photo album sitting on the table. The front cover has the word Family etched on it. Inside are photos of all the guys, including me, in the early years. I was younger then and living the life I wanted with good men by my side.

I plan to get my life back. My brothers will kill themselves to make sure I do. The only thing no one is aware of is that a little brown-haired, green-eyed mouse is going to be part of my life. Not even the little mouse knows I plan on making her mine.
