Chapter 11

Chapter Eleven

Willow

Cal groans and drops his head for a moment before looking up at me into my eyes once more. “I have to get it,” he says, regret laces through his voice. “The phone only rings around here when there's a reason, and I'm pretty sure I know what that reason is today.”

I resist the urge to pull him back to me when he steps out of my arms, leaving me naked, still sitting on the kitchen table as he, equally naked, crosses the room to pick up his phone.

I lean back and take the opportunity to watch him and the easy way he moves through the house, completely unconcerned about his nakedness.

And why should he be? The man is absolutely gorgeous.

He’s got to be at least twenty years older than me. Not that that matters.

In fact, he's a whole lot more man than any man my age that I've been with. Not that that bar is very high, but even if it was, Cal would blow it out of the water.

Every single part of him is solid muscle, not the kind that comes from long days in the gym. Cal's muscles are real, formed from hard work and real life.

“Luke.” His back is still turned to me when he answers the call. “Everything ready?”

He turns then as he listens to whatever the man on the other end tells him.

His gaze lands on me, lounging on the kitchen table, and his eyes go wide, his brow lifting as his lips twitch into a grin.

I lift my legs, so my heels are resting on the edge of the table now, and run one hand slowly down my thigh, at the same time, thrusting my tits out, and tossing my hair back.

I can hear his growl from across the room.

“Yeah,” he says roughly into the phone. “I’m listening.” His eyes never leave me. “Got it,” he says. “Thanks for doing that. I’ll see you then.”

Finally, he ends the call and tosses the phone down on the counter behind him.

“What was that about?”

“Luke picked up the money while he was in the city. He’ll drop it off in the morning.”

“And then it’ll be over.”

Cal nods and runs a hand roughly over his beard, tugging on it like he’s trying to make a decision. “Have you heard from your brother?”

I snort in response.

“Your father?”

“I texted him a few times in case he noticed I wasn’t home.” I shrug because there’s a good chance he hasn’t. “I tried calling, too,” I say. “But he never picked up.” The look on Cal’s face stops me. “Why?”

He sighs and drops his hands. “Luke mentioned something about a disturbance in town. Might be Hatch. It wasn’t clear.”

“A disturbance?” I sit up, suddenly on alert. “My dad?”

“Don’t know.” Cal’s moving through the room, scooping up our clothes. “Might be,” he says, gently, as he hands me my shirt and shorts.

“We need to go.” I tug my shirt on and jump off the table to pull my shorts up, all thoughts of seducing my mountain man one more time before breakfast gone. “I need to make sure he’s okay.”

For a moment, I’m sure he’s going to object, but Cal tugs on his jeans and simply nods.

“Really?”

“I told you,” he says. “You’re not a prisoner here. Besides,” he shakes his head with a grin. “I figure there’s no point telling you no when it comes to something you have your mind set on.”

Cal

I take Murph and wait for Willow in the yard. She needs a few minutes to pull herself together, and I need…well, I need a few minutes away from her, or we're never going to get down the mountain.

The woman is beyond irresistible. I knew once I had a taste of her, I'd need more, but even in my wildest dreams—and trust me, I had some wild ones—I didn't think she would be this addictive.

I'm lazily throwing the ball for the dog when I hear the soft creak of the porch floorboards behind me. Murph chooses that moment to finally return the soggy tennis ball and drop it at my feet, ready to fetch.

I should ignore the sound and toss the ball one more time, if only to put a bit more distance between me and the woman who’s making it impossible to think straight every time she looks at me.

Instead, I turn.

She stands on the porch, still wearing my black t-shirt, only it’s been tied up into a fancy twist with a knot at the back this time, leaving her midriff bare.

I’ve never seen one of my old shirts look so damn sexy.

Her hair’s been pulled back into a long braid that I immediately envision twisted around my fist, tugging her head back while I fuck her from behind.

Dammit.

I’ve got to pull myself together.

Her cheeks are still flushed from our morning activities, and the image of her spread out over my kitchen table, screaming out my name while I made her come, rips through my brain.

She licks her lips like she’s remembering that exact moment, too, and the tiny gesture is almost enough to cross the yard, pick her up, and carry her right back into the cabin to fuck her once more.

“You ready to go, or are you just going to stare at me all morning?”

There’s that sass, but it’s got less of an edge than before.

I shake my head with a chuckle and toss the ball one last time for Murph, but he ignores it, trotting over to get Willow's attention instead.

I open the truck door for her, waiting for her to finish lavishing attention on my dog. “Whenever you’re ready.”

She glances up and gives me a wink. “Jealous?” she asks as she takes her time crossing the yard, swinging her hips to drive me crazy.

“Darling,” my voice drops low as she finally reaches me, "Murph’s a good boy and deserves all the pats, but I’m pretty sure there’s no competition here.”

Her grin widens. “Pretty confident, aren’t you?”

I step closer, until there’s barely an inch between us as I pin her up against my truck with my hips.

“After the way you screamed my name and came all over my cock this morning?” I let my gaze drag slowly over her flushed face, down to her heaving tits, before meeting her eyes.

“Yeah, darling. I’m feeling pretty damn confident. ”

Heat floods her cheeks so fast, I almost laugh.

Almost.

Because there’s nothing funny about how painfully hard my cock needs her.

“Cal!”

I lean closer so I can whisper roughly in her ear. “I already had you once today.” My hips press into her, so there’s no doubt she can feel my desire. “And unless I’m reading things very wrong, I’ll have you again before the sun sets. And then again after that.”

Her breath catches the way it always does when I say something unexpected that slips past those big, thick defensive walls of hers.

Before she can come back with another smart ass comment, I kiss her hard and quick.

There’s nothing sweet and gentle about the way my lips crush onto hers.

It’s the kind of kiss that’s meant to leave her breathless and wanting. And thinking about me all the way down the fucking mountain.

When I pull back, her eyes are dazed, and for once, she’s speechless.

“Get in,” I say roughly and jerk my head toward the door before I drag her back inside and make good on every filthy thought running through my head. “Let’s get this over with.”
