Chapter 20
Chapter
Twenty
ADRIANNA
Pulling into my new parking spot, I smile. Elijah did what he said he would and eliminated assigned parking. Now I’m always in the front of the parking lot. I’m grateful on a rainy day like this.
My stomach flips when I see Elijah’s car in the spot next to me. I usually beat him here even with me staying at his house and having to run back to my own. I’m surprised to see him here before me.
This weekend was a dream. I’m scared to pinch myself in fear that this will all disappear.
I didn’t know what I expected when hanging out with Elijah’s friends, but it wasn’t to be accepted so easily.
Chloe, Liv, and Iris accepted me into the fold as if I had always been there.
For one night, I felt like I had the life that I always wanted.
One with an amazing group of friends and a doting boyfriend on my arm. It was heaven.
That night, Elijah took me back to his place for the night. For the first time, we didn’t have sex. We cuddled until we both fell asleep. Then we spent all day Sunday being lazy and watching movies.
I didn’t want to leave him this morning, but I needed to go home and get some more clothes. I’m still hesitant to leave things at his place, but I’m close to saying fuck it.
I really like Elijah Samson.
Like a lot. Bordering on love. It’s scary and exhilarating all at the same time.
Climbing out of my car, I hustle into the building. I nod at the security guard before making my way to the elevator. As soon as I’m at my floor, I step off to find the entire place still dark.
This is my favorite time of the day. It’s quiet and peaceful. It gives me a chance to get my mind together before the hustle of the workday. No one else will show up for another hour or more.
Flipping the lights on, I make my way to my desk. I set my things down when I hear a curse from Elijah’s office.
Opening his door, I rest against the doorframe. “Hey there, buddy. Everything okay?” I ask.
He glares at me. “I’m in a shitty mood today, Adrianna. I’m not in the mood for your sass.”
It takes me aback to hear him talk that way to me. We’ve been so happy recently that I’ve forgotten this side of him.
Taking him in, I realize something is really going on with him.
“Okay,” I murmur, stepping inside his office.
He sighs, looking up at me. “What are you doing? I don’t want to be a dick to you, but I can feel I will be.”
I nod. “I assume you don’t want to talk about it.” I start to walk toward him until I’m at his desk.
“Not really, no,” he admits.
I figured as much. Elijah likes to work through things himself before he brings it to others. I don’t mind, though. He will eventually tell someone what’s eating him. Usually it’s Mason from what I can tell, but lately he has been confiding in me as well.
That’s not what he needs right now, though. He needs to release some of the tension.
Slowly, I start unbuttoning my top. Elijah’s eyes track my movement.
“I need to get on a call. I appreciate the thought…”
I cut him off. “Don’t deny me, Mr. Samson. You need this.”
His lips shut as he watches me pull my blouse from my body and drop it on the floor, leaving me in my lacy black bra. Reaching behind me, I undo it and drop it to the floor.
When my hands move to my skirt, he speaks. “No. Leave it and the shoes on.”
I nod, moving closer to him. He pulls me into his lap, kissing my lips. His hands roam my body, kneading my breasts as he goes.
Finally he pulls back. “Bend over my desk.”
Standing up, I turn and do as he asks, my head touching his monitor. I feel him pull up the back of my skirt. He runs his hands up and down my thighs before he grabs my pantyhose at my center and pulls, tearing a hole in it.
“Such a good little assistant, Ms. Baker. Always here for your boss’s every need. Isn’t that right?” he asks.
“Yes. Anything you want, sir.”
I hear him stand, then his clothes rustle. The sound of a condom opening has my pussy clenching in anticipation. This is for him, but I’m going to enjoy it too.
When he pushes my panties aside and lines himself up at my opening, it takes everything I have not to push back against him.
I hiss as he slowly pushes in. He stretches me so good. I feel so full. He’s ruined me for anyone else. This is the dick I’d be willing to die for.
“That’s right, baby. You take me so good.”
His desk phone rings, making him pause. I clench around him tight at the thought of getting caught.
“This is the call I’ve been waiting for. You stay quiet, or I’ll punish you. Understood?”
Looking over my shoulder at him, I nod. “Yes, sir.”
“Good girl.”
He presses the speaker button, then speaks. “Mr. Lind. Thank you for calling.”
Then he thrusts. It takes everything I have not to moan out.
“Of course. I’ll be there in an hour if you would rather meet face-to-face,” Bill says on the other end of the line.
Elijah doesn’t stop fucking me, though. He keeps thrusting in a slow but steady pace as he speaks to the man.
“I need an answer now. I was looking over last month’s budget. I see here that you put in three hundred dollars for pens. Is that correct?”
A little squeak makes it out as Bill answers him, prompting Elijah to put the phone on mute.
Then he smacks my ass hard.
“Quiet, Ms. Baker. I’m trying to work.”
His words are reprimanding, but I can hear his own struggle with control in his voice.
Biting down on my arm, I try to muffle any further noises as I attempt to make Elijah lose that last little grip on his control. I begin clenching against him as hard as I can, bringing my own orgasm closer to the edge.
I can hear Elijah talking along with the answering voice on the phone, but I tune them both out.
Instead, I imagine what I must look like on this desk.
Topless with my breasts smushed onto the surface.
My ass high up in the air with the skirt pulled up over my hips.
My big, strong man behind me fucking me like he hasn’t another care in the world.
My man.
Mine.
I think Elijah really is mine.
The idea has my orgasm hitting me full force out of nowhere.
“Find the receipt and bring it to me right away,” I hear Elijah bark out before he starts fucking me harder.
I’m trying my best to remain quiet as he fucks me without abandon. My first orgasm fades, but a second one quickly takes its place.
I have no hope.
I scream out his name as my body gives in to the pleasure.
“Such a bad girl coming without permission. Do you think he heard you? I hope he did and that he knows only I can bring you this pleasure,” Elijah says as he empties himself inside of me.
I almost wish he didn’t have the condom. What would it feel like to have his warmth inside of me? To keep a piece of him with me all day.
Elijah pulls out of me slowly, using a tissue from his desk to clean me up. Once he does, he helps me stand, straightening out my skirt. He retrieves my bra and blouse, dressing me like he is an expert.
Once I’m put back together, he leans down and places a kiss on my lips. “Thank you, Adrianna. You were right. I needed that.”
“Anything for you, Elijah. I better get to work.”
He nods, letting me go.
As I walk away, I realize just how much I mean those words.
I went from contemplating murder to being willing to do anything for this man.
ELIJAH
I woke up this morning in a mood. I don’t like that Adrianna keeps leaving back to her house.
I want her here with me all the time.
Then I got last month’s budget, and I saw right away where my issue is. I haven’t been paying close enough attention. I’ve been distracted.
Three hundred dollars for pens. That is an astronomical number. I bet he bought maybe fifty dollars worth and pocketed the rest.
He wasn’t happy that I called him out on it either. He’s spiraling now. He has no idea how close I am to nailing him with the whole thing. I only need to prove Gloria was part of it too.
I don’t even know why this is so important to me anymore. Gloria is locked up, and I have enough to fire Bill Lind, yet I’m hesitant to turn my findings over to Mason.
It’s all because of her.
Adrianna.
I know what I need to do.
I need to give her the CEO position. She’s more than qualified even without the degrees. She has a passion for the foundation and would take good care of it.
Then I need to fire Bill and find a new CFO to take his position.
Dread settles in my gut. I don’t want to hire a new CFO.
I’m conflicted. Mason expects me to come help him at the hotel, but now that I’m here, I don’t want to leave.
It’s an impossible choice. One I don’t want to make.
As if he can sense me thinking about him, my phone rings.
“Hey,” I answer.
“Hey. Do you think we should look into a different manufacturer for our sheets? Max has been buying these hypoallergenic ones, but they are so expensive,” Mason answers back.
I smile when I remember bringing up the expensive soap the foundation was buying.
Adrianna made a good point.
“Don’t be cheap, Mason. People deserve to sleep in a bed without waking up in hives from an allergic reaction.”
Silence.
“You still there?” I ask.
“Yeah, I’m just wondering who you are. You once made us change to one-ply toilet paper because it was a third of the price of two-ply, and you felt even if we used extra, it would save us on costs.”
I snort. “It did save us. Thirteen thousand dollars a year.”
“Yeah, but my asshole hated it. What’s gotten into you?”
Sighing, I rub my forehead. “Nothing.”
“Sure. It’s Adrianna, isn’t it? She’s already changing you. bro. Don’t worry, it will be for the better. Livvy came in and made me a better man.”
“You had plenty of improvements to be made,” I inform him.
“Like you don’t? All I’m saying is that Adrianna seems to be softening some of those sharp edges that keep people away. It’s a good look on you. Maybe I should ask Adrianna about the sheets. Can you go get her?” Mason asks.
“No. She’s got things to do. Besides, she will tell you the same thing I told you.”
“Stop hogging her. She’s going to be family. I’ll just call Livvy and get her number then.”
“You will not. She’s running the weekly marketing meeting at the moment. Let her work,” I snap.
“Wow. It really is love. So you don’t have her fetching you coffee anymore?”
I look to the half-drunk coffee on my desk. It sits on top of the warmer she insists on.
I smile when I think about how she was drinking it earlier. She stopped making it to my specifications weeks ago and makes it the way she likes it. Then she ends up drinking it for me.
“No, she still gets me coffee. Basically all the things she was doing before, but I’ve added responsibilities to her plate. I’ve been busy hunting our thief.”
He sobers up. “Any progress?”
“Lots. I know who it is. I’m waiting to catch him red-handed.”
“Just fire him and get it over with. Then pick a CEO and come back to me,” Mason says.
That’s the problem. I don’t want to go work at The Williamson anymore.
“I don’t want him to get a severance package. I want proof in hand that will put him behind bars while we out what he’s been doing to the world. That way he can’t say a single thing bad about the foundation,” I lie to him.
It’s not a total lie. It is what I am aiming for, but I’m also buying time.
“That’s a good idea. Still, don’t spend too much time over there. I’m worried that place will never let you leave,” he jokes.
It hits a bit too close to home, though. I do want to stay here.
I’ve even been floating the idea of taking on the new CFO position myself and giving the CEO position to Adrianna. Then we could work side by side.
“I could always take the open CFO position and get away from your clingy ass,” I say as a joke, but I’m really testing the waters.
“Damn, man. You’d leave me like that? I’m hurt.” He chuckles. “The foundation would be in good hands, though. I’d feel better knowing you were watching over my family’s legacy. I’d miss you like hell, though.”
“Gross. You are getting sentimental. I think it’s time for me to go barf into my trash can.”
“I forgot you have a heart of stone. Tell that pretty little assistant of yours to warm it up.”
I growl into the phone. “Watch it, baby daddy. I can rile you up just as easily as you can me.”
“Fair point. Seriously, though, stay safe and work quickly. We both know you have no desire to be CEO, so get in and get out.”
I hear Adrianna talking outside of my office, indicating her meeting is done. I stare at the door, willing her to come inside.
When she pops her head in the door, I wave her in.
“Yeah, I know. Catch you later,” I tell Mason.
“Bye, dude.”
As I hang up, I stand and make my way toward Adrianna.
“What’s wrong?” she asks as I pull her into my arms.
“Nothing. Just wanted to hug you. Was the meeting good?”
As she starts to go over the meeting, all I can think about is the decision I’m going to have to make.
