Chapter Twenty
Twenty
Atlas
Was this seriously happening to me? Did the girl of my dreams really suck my dick in my gym?
Fuck yeah, she did.
I was fairly confident she sucked my soul right out through my cock.
She had me so far gone for her that it was sad. I might as well have her name tattooed on my balls.
I held her like that for a few more minutes, just savoring the feeling of her body pressed against mine, basking in postorgasm bliss.
“We should probably finish our workout, I guess, right?” she whispered while rubbing her face into the ruff of fur along my neck.
“Yeah, you’re probably right.” I sighed and set her on her feet before rising next to her.
For the rest of our session, we exchanged giggles and furtive glances, with Tegan’s cheeks flushing each time my body brushed up against hers.
I worked her through some stretches for her cooldown and decided it was time to address the elephant in the room.
“So, uh, what are you doing tonight?” Goddess help me. I had no game. It wasn’t like I could just say, Come over to my house so we can finally fuck.
She smirked and bent over in front of me to touch her toes, her entire ass filling my field of view. “I don’t have any plans just yet,” she said coyly.
What a tease! She was going to kill me.
“Would you want to come over for dinner at my place? I, um, we could continue—”
She cut me off before I could finish digging myself into a self-deprecating hole. “I’d love to come over for dinner, Atlas Oberon. I’ll bring dessert.”
“Well, well, well,” Fallon chirped, strolling over to us. “What do we have here?”
Oh gods. Was this really happening?
My girlfriend just sucked my dick in the gym, and now my best friend was going to meet her for the first time.
I groaned. “Tegan, this is my friend Fallon.”
“Best friend Fallon,” he corrected.
“Nice to meet you, best friend Fallon,” she said, her voice all bubbly.
“What were the two of you doing here so early?” Fallon looked between Tegan and me—almost like he knew that something went on between us this morning. If I found out he was watching the cameras again…
“Just getting our workout in,” Tegan said, beaming at him. She was acting totally normal. Definitely not like she’d just sucked my cock thirty minutes ago.
“That’s great,” Fallon said, affectionately shaking my shoulder until I shrugged him off. “Atlas is an amazing trainer.”
It was nice of him to hype me up.
Tegan looked at me, rolling her lips with a mischievous sparkle in her emerald eyes. “He is.”
“We should all hang out sometime,” Fallon suggested. “Maybe you could come to our next game night.” It seemed like he was determined to make sure Tegan wasn’t like Jade. Which she wasn’t. Not even a little bit.
“That would be great,” she said excitedly. “I love board games.”
I laughed at the image of me, Fallon, Cyrus, and Kael crouched around a table playing The Game of Life. “He means video games.”
“Ah,” Tegan said, nodding slowly. “I should have known. I’m not the best at those, but I’d love to come hang out.”
“Cool. I’ll make sure Atlas brings you with him next time,” Fallon said.
Tegan glanced at the time on her phone. “Shoot. I need to go get some cakes in the oven.” She quickly gathered her things and stepped close to me.
“Text me the time and your address. I’ll see you later.
Thanks for the workout.” She stood on her tiptoes, placing a light kiss on my nose, which made my tail wag.
“It was nice to meet you, Fallon,” she said before rushing out the door.
I stood there for a moment in a daze.
There was no way this was happening to me.
An awful breakup and then I literally stumble upon the girl of my dreams?
I was waiting for the other shoe to drop.
“I really like her,” Fallon said.
I figured he would, but it was still a relief. Even if he plucked my last nerve, I still cared what he thought, especially after everything with Jade.
“I’m glad but I swear, if you were watching us on the cameras—”
“Relax.” He laughed. “I didn’t see anything. But from your reaction I can tell that something definitely went on between you two.”
I puffed out a breath. “Things have finally reached the tipping point.”
His eyes widened. “Oh yeah?”
I nodded. “She’s coming over tonight ‘for dinner.’ ”
“Gonna feed her that dick, I see.”
It was too funny for me to even be mad.
“Maybe I already did,” I said, shrugging nonchalantly. “Who’s to say?”
“Yo!” Fallon shouted, shaking my shoulder again. He was so excited, I couldn’t bring myself to shove him off me. “My fucking guy! I knew you two were up to something.”
I walked back to my office with Fallon in tow. I was going to have to check his client logs, because it felt like he didn’t do any actual work here.
I sat down at my desk and Fallon plopped down in the seat across from me.
“I’m so proud that my little wolf daddy is finally going to get laid. I wonder what she’s going to say about your McMansion,” he said, ruffling his feathers. He knew how much I hated that house.
“I can’t help it that I live in a fucking mansion, Fal. I’m sort of stuck with it at this point.”
“I’m just saying that I wouldn’t mention you bought it with your ex-fiancée, is all.”
I sucked in a tight breath, that little detail feeling like a heavy weight on my chest. “I have to at some point.”
“At some point. Not right before you fuck her.”
“Please shut up.”
He laughed awkwardly, a high-pitched chuffing sound. “Sorry, man. I just want this to go well for you.”
I could hear the sincerity in his voice. I don’t think I would have made it through those first few months of my breakup if it wasn’t for Fallon. We had hung out practically every day and I was thankful as fuck for him.
“Thanks, my guy,” I said. “I want it to go well, too.”
“Now, I know you’ve been out of the game for a while, so if you need any tips—”
I cut him off. “Nope. I’m good, thanks. Now if you could get out so I can get some work done, that would be great. I want to leave on time today.”
He slowly rose out of his chair. “Good luck tonight, wolf daddy. Make me proud.” He slipped out of the office, his laughter trailing off as he walked down the hall.
