Riding through the streets of Bowling Green with hundreds of other bikers was a surreal experience. I loved our club of five, but feeling the community and support of MCD was a good reminder that we were bigger than a sum of parts. We were a family—reaching far and wide.
But it was also a good reminder that the MC life wasn’t one I wanted to live every day.
“Did we get old, or are we just out of practice?” Grayson groaned, rubbing his shoulder.
“Both,” I said, smiling at him.
Bubba chuckled, slapping Grayson on his back. “Told you to start stretching before sex. That sex acrobatics you like to do has finally caught up to you.”
“Sex. Acrobatics,” Grayson wheezed between his laughter. Bubba grinned, his barrel chest rumbling with a laugh.
“Okay, fair point. But damn. I thought kids made you younger,” he whined. “Wait, do I have wrinkles? I’m barely in my mid-thirties. I can’t have wrinkles yet. I thought I had at least until I was old like, Bubba.”
“Hey! I just turned forty. It’s not that old.”
Grayson ignored him and ran to the closest reflective surface, blocking the fridge we’d been sent in to grab food from. But somehow we’d gotten sidetracked. Maybe we were getting old. I was only thirty-two, but…
“You’re ridiculous,” Hank said, walking in with Hannah on his hip. “Wrinkles mean you’ve lived.”
“Ah, so you’ve lived a long time then?” Grayson fired back.
“Damn right,” Hank said, not taking the bait. He smiled at his granddaughter. She was playing with his beard. It wasn’t as long as I’d seen in pictures, but it had grown back some. “You giving your daddies wrinkles, Hannah?” he asked, nuzzling her neck. She giggled, wrapping the room of motorcycle men around her finger.
Kissing her head, I grabbed the plate of food and carried it out while Grayson and Bubba figured out the rest. I sat it on the table and spotted my true destination in the throng of people. We’d set up a stage in the backyard for Lennox and Slade. They were singing some of Lennox’s songs and a few classics. Most of the crowd was gathered around them, dancing, swaying, and singing along as they watched the duo.
The kids ran free, enjoying their freedom and the new people’s attention. Charlie was enamored with Tiny and kept following him around, staring at him wide-eyed. Grace had a million questions for Kiki, and Hannah hadn’t let Grandpa Hank out of her sight since he arrived. I loved seeing our kids get to know more people, especially those who helped us fight for the future that gave us them.
Darcie danced to the music in a floral dress, cowboy boots, and her well-loved cowboy hat. She looked beautiful. Wrapping my arms around her waist, I kissed Darcie’s neck and held her close. She peered up at me, smiling and rubbing her hands up and down my arms. “Hey, sweetheart.”
“Hey, Cowboy.” She spun in my arms, wrapping hers around my neck. “Having a good time?”
“Always, because you’re here.”
She smiled. It still had the power to make my knees weak. Her fingers played with my long strands of hair under my cowboy hat.
“What do you say we sneak away?” she whispered.
I lifted my eyebrows. “But what about?—”
She placed her finger over my mouth, stopping my words. “Please, Brooks. I want some time with you.”
I didn’t need to hear anything else. Taking her hand, I led her away from the crowd. The house and garage were full of people, so I took her to the one place I knew would be empty—my barn.
Some days, I still couldn’t believe I had my own home and a place to house horses. We had four at the moment, but Hannah would want her own if she were anything like her siblings. I loved getting to teach our children how to ride. It felt better than winning.
Which I loved, but I’d retired from the rodeo after Charlie was born. Darcie had been adamant I didn’t need to, but the sport was dangerous. It had saved me when I’d had nothing, but now I had people who cared about me and a family I wanted to be around for. There were guys who made it both work, but they missed so much being on the road during the season. I didn’t want to miss anything, so it was an easy decision.
Plus, now I had the best parts of rodeo. I got to be around horses and teach those I loved how to care for them. I’d come out the real winner in the end.
The smell of hay and horses hit me the second we stepped in. I took a deep inhale, filling my lungs with it. Darcie chuckled, and my cheeks heated.
“I love seeing you in your element, Brooks. Nothing to be shy about.” She stepped in front of me, turning, so she walked backward as she pulled me with one hand. She bit her lip, staring into my eyes.
The vulnerable look was my kryptonite. Surging forward, I threw her over my shoulder and took off for the back stall. Darcie giggled, the sound bright and light. I sat her on the saddle stand when I got to the back stall. I took my hat off, placed it on the peg, and then added hers to it. Her eyes were big as she watched me, her chest heaving as she waited for my move.
Bending down, I kissed her. Our tongues tangled, and desire raced through my body. It still amazed me that I’d found my rose again after losing her. She’d always been the only girl that made me feel this way—confident and sexy. With her, I didn’t have to second guess or worry. Darcie accepted me as I was, kinks and all.
“I love it when you take charge,” she gasped, her head falling back. I kissed down her neck, bunching up her dress and finding the junction between her legs. When I didn’t encounter a barrier, I stopped and shot my gaze to hers. She grinned.
“Fuck, sweetheart.”
I didn’t waste any time and dropped down onto my knees. Her legs wrapped around my shoulders, and her back fell against the wall. I dove in, licking up the center with the flat side of my tongue and then sucking on her clit. I didn’t stop, keeping up my pace of tongue fucking her. Her thighs kept my face crushed to her, but I didn’t care. There wasn’t anywhere else I wanted to be.
After her second orgasm, she begged me to give her more, so I stood and unzipped my pants. She panted against the stand, her body worn out and languid. Licking her lips, she waited for me to get closer before she gripped my shirt, pulling me to her.
The kiss was electric, and I would’ve been happy to stay there all night just kissing her. But Darcie wanted more, so I lifted her slightly, tilted her hips, and pushed in. Her fingers dug into my biceps, and we sighed as I bottomed out.
“This won’t be long,” I gritted. “You’re so tight and wet, sweetheart.”
Darcie whimpered, and I took that as my green light to move. Using my hips, I withdrew and then thrust back in quickly. The pace was unrelenting as I pistoned in and out, my cock hitting her deep. My muscles tightened, and my balls drew up as my orgasm neared.
“Close,” I muttered, and Darcie nodded, her hands clinging to me.
“Please, Brooks. So good.”
Tilting her hips more, I pressed in deeper and saw stars. Her pussy clamped down around me, and I couldn’t hold back any longer. My thrusts stuttered as pleasure raced up my spine, and everything in me exploded.
Falling onto her, I sucked in air as I tried to catch my breath. Darcie ran her fingers through my hair, humming as she came back down from her orgasm.
“Always so freaking good,” she mumbled.
Grinning, I kissed her softly and then pulled out. Stepping out of the horse stall, I went into the office and grabbed a towel. I cleaned myself and then tucked my dick back into my jeans before returning to help her do the same. Once we were both cleaned and dressed, I returned her hat to her head and did the same for mine.
“Ready?” I asked, holding out my hand. Darcie grinned and took it, and we said bye to the horses, giving them a few pets before we returned to the dancing crowd like we hadn’t just had mind-blowing sex.
Charlie and Grace beelined for us when they spotted us, asking us a million questions and telling us just as many new things. Laughing, I picked up Grace and spun her around.
“Daddy,” she giggled, overflowing my heart with love.
I hadn’t known love like this could exist, but now that I had it, I never wanted to let it go. Darcie, my brothers, our kids, and the friends we made had shown me what true love was, and despite hating my childhood, I’d do it all again if it meant ending up here.
