Chapter 9
Destiny's pov
I was sleeping when I heared a door being open and close from the living room. And someone started to call my name by shaking me. I turned to the other side and began to sleep again.
I heard a very high pitch scream on my left ear. I got scared. I immediately opened my eyes and sat up on the bed. I turned to my left and saw Ava was leaned over the bed, as she was going to say something in someone's ear.
Then I understand she was the one who screamed at my ears. I glared at her. She chuckled and asked "So how was the interview, did it go well". I rubbed my hands on my face and groaned at her.
"Did you knew the Liam Collins was the CEO of the company, when you applied for the job yesterday" I asked her.
"Sorry Destiny, I knew it was the Collins I was applying for but I didn't thought it would be Liam Collins.
I expected to be the older Mr. Collins " she replied to me looking into the eyes to take the reply truthfully.
But still I was not satisfied with her answer and I just left it out.
I nodded at her. I see the clock for time.
It's 4.15, but the work in hotel doesn't complete this early.
"Why did you come early or did they leave you early" I asked her and stood up from the bed and made my way to the bathroom for a quick wash up.
"I just took it off early. As I said yesterday that we will be going shopping today, so hurry up " she said and moved out.
I washed up and changed my dress to a leggings and long sleeve tank top. I made my way to the living room, saw Ava watching TV while eating chips. When she saw me she threw a drink towards me. I caught it and took a sip of the drink.
"You didn't answer my earlier question, how was your interview " she asked. My face flushed thinking about it, I covered it from her and replied "It went well. And I am hoping to get the job. It will be very useful for me"
"You will get the job don't worry. Now hurry up we need to go" she assured me and pushed me towards my room.
I grabbed my wallet and phone from there and left the apartment.
It's been an hour since we are here in this mall looking for clothes.
We had found some. As we were going through the shops my phone started ringing and it was the same number from yesterday which had called me.
I looked towards Ava, she nodded her head as saying to answering it. I picked up the call.
"Hello, am I speaking to Destiny Sky Walker?" a familiar voice asked.
"Yes this is her, what can I do" I replied.
"Hey this is Alexis from Collins company. We met this morning" Alexis said.
"Oh hey Alexis, so why did you call me" I asked her and turned my head towards Ava. She raised her eyebrows at me.
"I have called you to inform you that you have been selected for the Assistant role.
I need you to be here in the company on Monday before 8.
45 am. The boss will come at 9. If you come fifteen minutes earlier, I will give the information about the company whereabouts.
And congratulations Destiny" she said happily to me.
"OK I will be there at your announced time. And thank you" I replied in a daze.
"OK bye, I will see you on Monday " she said and didn't even wait for my reply and ended the call.
I bought my phone down and stared at it. Ava shaked my shoulders and asked "What happened? Who called you?"
I meet her eyes and replied "It was from the company I had interviewd today. They said I have been selected and told to report at 8.45am on Monday".
She beamed happily and hugged me. "I knew you would get it Sky, I knew it" she said to me, I nodded at her.
"Why don't we celebrate it, call your parents and say you will have a sleepover at my place today" she nodded at my statement.
"Come on we will complete this shopping and go to the grocery store to buy some things.
We can make special dinner today" I said to her excitedly and started moving into the next shop with linked arms.
After an extra hour of shopping, we walked towards the grocery store. Our hands were filled with shopping bags. Mine were more because now that I got the job, I need extra clothes and Ava helped me out.
Ten minutes later, I and Ava were pushing each a shopping cart. One is filled with shopping bags because we were tired of carrying it. And other one is for the items we were selecting.
"What are you doing for dinner today?" Ava asked when I was selecting the pasta.
"I was thinking of making spaghetti, so is it ok " I asked her by putting the pasta in the cart.
"Yes, I can't wait to eat it" she said by licking her lips. I chuckled at her reaction.
I heared someone clear their throat behind us. We turned to see a guy of our age smiling at us. He has a light brown eyes with red hair. He was tall.
'But not as tall as your man' my inner self said.
'My man? ' I asked confusingly.
'Yes your man, Liam James Collins ' she said
'Shut up, he is not my man' I replied .
"Hello ladies, can you give a little space so I can take the pasta. Or I can squeeze between you two and take it " he asked smirking at us. I nod my head at him. I didn't reply because I don't want to start a scene here. I moved forward but Ava was standing there and staring at him.
I think he felt uncomfortable with her stare and asked "Why are you staring at me like that? Your look says I have committed a very bad crime and you are going to punish me". I laughed at him.
But Ava ignored his statement and asked "You are Alex Black?". He eyes widened at this. He pointed his finger at her and asked "Wait! Ava Sagal?".
They both lot out a small scream. Some people around looked at our way. I was embarrassed at their actions. They both hugged each other in the centre of aisle. They both broke their hug.
"Where have you been idiot, I didn't see you after your high school. And don't talk about recognizing me. How could you forget me?" Ava asked him by giving him a punch to his shoulders.
"Hey don't need to be abusive now. I know I haven't talk to you after high school. I traveled a little and then took over my father company. I have been been busy lately" he replied by rubbing his hand over the shoulder where Ava have punched.
He turned towards me and said "I think you must be Destiny" my eyes widened at him, how did he know my name.
He chuckled at the reaction "I am sure it is correct.
Because the alien here was always talking about you when we were talking in the science lab" He said this and Ava smiled at me.
"So I just guessed it" I smiled at him for the answer.
"If I would have recognized you sooner, I wouldn't have said that flirted to you Ava" he said to Ava and she smiled at him. But what he said next made her to punch him again on the shoulder.
"But I am not sorry for you Destiny, because I did try to flirt with you" I laughed at them.
"Hey that's my best you are talking about" she glared at him. He lifted his hands as he surrendered.
"So what are you guys doing here" I think his name is Alex, he asked.
"Well Destiny got a job today, and we are celebrating it in her apartment. We came here to buy the items for it. You can join us if you want, we are making spaghetti today" she said to him excitedly and she looked at me for confirmation. Looks like she need to catch up with him for the lost time.
I nod my head at her and turned towards Alex and said "Yeah, you can join us" I smiled at him politely.
"Alright I guess, but I came here with my friend. We decided to eat spaghetti today, so we can continue our grocery shopping with you both. I think it's a good idea" he replied to us.
"Well what are you waiting for call your friend to come here. We can have the spaghetti party together than" Ava replied and I picked two more packets of pasta and placed in the cart.
I turned towards them and said "I will be checking out the items, and when your friend comes, meet me at the entrance of the store. I will be waiting there. And Ava I will take some shopping bags OK" I said to her and picked some bags from her, she nodded her head at me.
I made my way towards to the cashier and picked up the items for checking out. After few minutes I paid the amount and moved out towards the entrance.
I saw Ava and Alex waiting for me.
I made my way towards her. I saw that there was an extra member with them. And I met with the same face I met this morning.
Our eyes meet and asked the same question simultaneously "What are you doing here?"
It was none other than Liam.
