Chapter 17
Destiny's pov
The work in London is more compared to Philadelphia. Every single person here is working very hard. I think by tomorrow we would get the deal.
I don't even know what happened to Liam. Since the meeting had started, he has become cold. He was snapping at everyone who would make a small mistake. His anger was raising for every minute.
He had took a glance at me and Luke for few times.
Luke was my project partner back in college, he was a good friend. He loves teasing me. Even though I met his girlfriend Gabriel few times. They both were best friends since middle school and started to date before he joined college.
It was evening now. All of them have left for a break, and I was having coffee in the cafeteria.
"I think no one is coming here" I heard someone ask. I looked up and saw Luke standing beside me and pointing to the seat across me.
"No, you can sit" I smiled at him.
As soon as he sat I asked "How is Gabriel, Is she still your girlfriend". He smiled whole heartily and replied.
"She is super fine. And why wouldn't she still be my girlfriend" he asked raising his eyebrows.
I rolled my eyes at him "Because you are childish. I don't see why Gabriel still stays with you" I replied.
"Well she is not my girlfriend anymore" my mouth fell open at him but he continued wiggling his eyebrows "Because she is my fiance now".
"Really! Congratulations! When did this happen" I asked him excitedly.
"Just two months back. And we will be getting married in six months. You have to come. I will send the invitation when it arrives" he said.
"Looks like someone can't wait to tie the knot" I said playfully.
"Well love makes you like that" he shrugged but still he was smiling. "What about you, any boyfriend?" he asked.
Luke had set a few dates for me in college saying I don't want to die alone, typical him. But I didn't like it. And after sometimes he stopped asking about it.
"No. And I think I don't need one" I said.
He leaned forward and whispered "Why don't you date your boss, he is seems good. And looks like he is also interested in you".
"No Luke, he is my boss and I am his employee. I like to keep it professional" I said to him, I mumbled the last statement like I don't wanna say that. "And what do you mean he is interested in me" I asked him.
"You will come to know soon. Do you know why he was cold in the meeting?" he asked. I shook my head as no.
"Then I won't tell you, you figure it out yourself" he said smirking at me.
I puff out at him and crossed my arms. He chuckled and got up.
"I have some work in my office, and my work here is done. I am leaving now" he stood up and asked "Give me your mobile" I gave him opening my lock. He typed something and soon his mobile started ringing. "Now I can call you anytime. Make sure you pick it up" I nod my head as he returned my mobile.
"Bye. And say my greetings to Gabriel" I said.
He nodded his head and went.
I stayed back there few more minutes before I went back.
When I went inside, seems like the atmosphere is better than before. Everyone one was already seated and Liam kept his face blank.
The meeting continued normally. It was very late when it has wrapped up for today. I was super sleepy, I think I didn't get enough sleep on the plane.
When I was getting my things, I yawned covering my hand infront of the mouth. Thank God everyone left. Liam was outside.
And I yawned again. "Looks like someone is sleepy" someone said behind me. I turned and saw Liam standing near the door. I nodded my head.
"We will go to the penthouse soon, you can sleep there" he said. We went towards the elevator. The elevator opened, we went inside.
The door opened just below a few floors, and people entered in a bulk. Me and Liam moved backwards making people space. I am surprised about Liam, he seems ok with the crowd. Well I think he is not the typical billionaire type.
Then the elevator closed and started moving down.
I suddenly stood frozen in my place when I feel a hand on my left butt.
I looked slightly towards my left to see a late thirties man standing beside me.
His face was facing front with a blank face, but his hand was doing something.
I felt completely uncomfortable. I turned my head right and looked at Liam, he was typing on his phone.
I think he felt my stare at him and turned his head towards me. I think he saw my panick and fear face and turned completely towards me.
"What happened princess?" he whispered. I feel tears forming in my eyes because now that dirty man's hand was grabbing my butt hard.
Liam looked around me, looking what was wrong. When his eyes landed on the man's hand where it was, his eyes fired up. I can feel his anger. He quickly took my hand pushed me towards him. He grabbed the man's hand and twisted it behind his back. The man screamed in pain.
Liam pushed his face on the metal wall of the elevator by his other hand. Liam was taller and more built than him.
"What the fuck do you think you are doing harassing the woman in the elevator" Liam shouted at him. By now the elevator was stopped and people in the front had turned to us.
I felt a tear drop from my eyes. "Who the hell are you to say to me. No one saw what happened here and there is no proof" that man said still his face was pressed against the wall.
Liam laughed coldly and twisted the man's hand more and said "I don't want any proof of your dirty behavior because I fucking saw it in my own eyes" Liam pressed the man's head more into the wall and continued "And you asked me who the hell was I?
Didn't you? Well I am the CEO of the company whom you are working for".
The man went silent, I can't see his face because his face was turned to the other side and he started shuttering "Mr... Mr Co.. Collins, I... I.. didn't know it was yo.. you".
"Well now you know who I am, I want you out of my building in few minutes because you are fucking fired from this company" Liam released him and took my hand and went outside the elevator.
He took me towards the car and opened the passenger door for me. I sat in the seat and looked up at Liam, he was standing beside me blocking the view of outside. When he saw my face, his eyes softened a little. He bought his hand up and wiped the tear that had left my eyes.
He leaned forward inside the car and pressed his forehead against mine. We both closed our eyes. Looks like he was calming down himself but somehow it was helping me as well.
I pulled away from him, opened my eyes and put my hand on his hand which was on the my cheek and whispered "Thank you".
"It's okay princess, now rest you seemed to be tired" he said and placed a kiss on my forehead. He pulled away and came to the driver seat and started driving.
I looked out of the window and thought about what happened.
You may think I am weak but I am not. I have not experienced anything like this before.
I can stand alone, fight for the wrong things and defend myself.
When I was working as a waitress I didn't experience this.
Only some cruel words were said here and there.
But this was sexual harassing, I don't know what to do when this type of situation came.
Thank God, Liam was there to understand me. The anger I saw in his eyes when he saw the man's hand, I didn't see it in the office today. It was another level.
When he kissed me on my forehead, I was not in the state to argue with him. So I let it go. But I have to say, it calmed my system.
I slowly started to drift to sleep before we reached the penthouse.
I woke up to my alarm ringing. I quickly shut it out. I got up and looked around. I was in my bed, in my room.
I scratched my head thinking, I was in the car last night. How did I end up here? I shook my head and went to the bathroom. I have to ask Liam about it.
In half an hour I got ready and went to the kitchen for making breakfast.
I was almost done when Liam entered the kitchen.
"Good morning princess" he said. When will he stop calling me that.
"Good morning, I made breakfast" I said and served him.
We started eating, I asked him the question which I wanted to ask.
"Liam" I called him, he looked up from his plate "How did I came to my room. I was in your car".
"You slept in my car, I didn't want to disturb you so I carried you to your room" he said. I nod at him replying a 'thank you'.
We left for the work.
It was evening now. The deal we have come for here will be successful in few hours. The staff has worked hard for gaining the deal. Liam was handling it very well. He doesn't mix his personal life with business, that's what I am inspired about it.
He is dedicated to his work. He want his work to be perfect, he doesn't allow any tardiness. I have so much to learn from him.
He looks hot standing there and showing that he has the authority of every thing. His suit fitted him perfectly. I observed when he was thinking, he scratched his finger on his stubble.
'Are you here for business or observing his features' my mind asked.
With out thinking I replied 'He features'.
I realized what I talked and whisper shouted 'Shut up'.
"Ms Walker you have something to say" I heard Liam voice.
I looked up and saw everyone was looking at me. I turned my head towards Liam, he seems to be amused.
Did I say that aloud?
My face flushed "No.. no sir, you may continue" I said. Liam nodded his head in amuzement.
The meeting completed at nine and we got the deal. For the celebration Liam took us for dinner. It was around thirty to forty members.
Around eleven we were returning back. It was silent as always.
We got to the hotel and went inside the penthouse. I started to move towards the room. I was about to enter when I heard Liam calling my name.
"Destiny" I turned towards him. He quickly climbed the stairs and stood infront of me.
"I want you to get ready at eight tomorrow" he said.
"Is there any work left tomorrow" I asked him.
He thought for few seconds and replied "Yes, yes it is" and turned towards his room and entered it.
I was confused about his behavior, and I don't think he was telling the truth.
I shrugged and entered my room. It was a long day and I was tired.
I didn't get this tiredness when I was working at the hotel.
I freshed up and went to sleep.
