Chapter 20
Liam's pov
"Wake up you idiot!" I heard a voice near me but I ignored it and continued sleeping.
Then someone started to beat with the pillow.
"Liam come on wake up, it's already noon" I heard a girl voice. I groaned and pulled the covers over my head.
She started pulling the covers now. In my sleepy voice I said "Soph, get out. I want to sleep".
She stopped pulling the covers. I released a breath and started to sleep again. But my eyes went wide open when I heard the sound of a dog bark. Oh God.
I quickly throw the covers from my head to see, Sophia standing near my room door with my nightmare. She had put the leash on the dog.
"Did you seriously have to do this. Is it necessary to bring your dog to my room" I hiss at her.
She shrugged and started to come towards me with the dog. I can feel my nose starts itching. I moved back in my bed.
"You didn't wake up when I came to wake you up, so I had to bring Max" she stood just a foot step away from my bed "Isn't he adorable" she left the leash a little. It was enough for the dog to stand on bed and bark at me.
It was near to me now. And in instant I started to sneeze. Sneeze after sneeze. Damn, why am I allergic to this one thing. I got up from the bed and stood far away from it. She knew I am allergic, but she likes to play with me.
"Sophia....'achoo'.....take that...'acho' .... monster....'achoo'....away....'acho'.... from me" I said to her sneezing in between.
"I see that you have woke up now. Quickly freshen up and come downstairs. The brunch will be ready for you" she said and went out with that devil.
I calm down after few minutes after that dog went out, and went to my bathroom. Now I have to change the sheets of the bed and make the maids to clean the damn house by today. And it's all because of that dog.
And the owner of that dog is Sophia, Melissa's daughter. Her dog is a golden retriever. We literally grew up together after Melissa joined as a nanny for me. She was just a adorable baby when I met. But now it is opposite of that. She is like a sister to me. She has brown eyes with brown hair.
She is five years younger than me and still studying in college. I look after her studies since I started working. We hang out sometimes when we are free because of my busy schedule and her college. She loves to irritate me.
I showered and went out to get dressed. After some time I went out of room towards kitchen. As I walk, I can feel the itch in my nose. Damn, this dog has really walked around my house. Before going to the kitchen, I ordered my maids to clean the house again and to change my bedsheets.
I heard laughing from the kitchen when I was about to enter. When I entered, I saw Melissa cooking and Sophia sitting on the counter eating strawberries.
They both turned towards me when I entered. I hugged Melissa and kissed her cheek.
"Good morning" I said and stood beside Sophia and took a strawberry from her bowl. She glared at me.
"It's like afternoon Liam" Mellisa said shaking her head.
I turned towards Sophia and asked "How are you and how is college" taking another strawberry.
"I am good. And the college is as usual" she said shrugging her shoulder.
"Sooo" I can hear some mischievous in her voice "I heard you have got a girlfriend and her name is Destiny" she asked plopping another strawberry in her mouth.
"Where did this come from" I asked looking at her in disbelief. I turned towards Melissa to see a secret smile on her face.
"Really Melissa" I said groaning at her "You literally met her one time and you think this" I said to her. I like the sound of girlfriend, but it's still friend to her.
"Don't start with it now, you both looked like cute couples. She is a great girl, I can say that" I know she is great.
"I wanna meet her if my mom is saying the word great" I heard Sophia say behind me. I turned towards her and she continued "Call her and ask her to come here. We can hang out together".
"No I can't do that" I said in a blank face.
"If you don't, then I will" she said and sprinted out of kitchen to grab my mobile. I chased her and found her in living room holding my mobile.
I was about to snatch it. But she pulled away and ran inside kitchen and stood behind Melissa. Melissa was laughing at our childish behavior.
"Give it back Soph" I said stretching my hand towards her.
She shook her head and said "Either you call or I will". I released a breath and closed my eyes.
I opened them and said "OK, I will call her. Now. Give. It. Back" I said in irritating tone.
She gave it back. I went to the living room and called her.
Even I was also excited to see her.
She picked up the call after few rings and answered in sweet voice "Hello".
"Hey" I said.
"So... I called to ask whether you wanted to hang out with me today. I could pick you up if you want" I said in a hope. She released the breath and I know what her answer would be.
"I am sorry Liam, I came to meet parents. You know where we went to high school" I said slowly.
"Oh...." I said in a dissapointed tone. Well I hoped I could see her beautiful face. "It's okay".
"Hmm" she hummed in response.
"How are your parents" I asked, changing the topic.
"They are good, we met after a long time. I even met my nephew, he is so adorable you know" she said excitedly out about the baby. I chuckled at her cuteness.
"Sure he is, I think" I replied.
"Yeah"
"Wait, you don't have a car, how did you go?" I asked confusingly as I thought when she said her parents home.
"I came here in bus" she replied as if it was normal.
"Really, if you had called me I would have dropped you" I said whole heartedly.
"No, I can't do that. And what is it going in bus" she replied and I can sense a little irritation.
"It's nothing" I said releasing a breath to cool myself and "OK say me when are you coming back, I will pick up" I asked her, knowing that I can help her in any way.
"Liam I am fine coming in bus. It's want I have been doing from almost six years. And I don't want to trouble you. I will meet you at the office tomorrow. Ok bye" she said and hung up on me.
Did she just hung up on me?
"Looks like someone didn't need you, as you need her" I heard Sophia voice me. Was she eavesdropping me?.
I turned towards her and glared. She was smiling. I ignored her and went to kitchen to eat my food.
I started eating the food in silence on the dining table.
My thoughts went to Destiny. Will she be ok while returning.
Why did she have to go alone. Even remembering the asshole face in London, I can see there are plenty man's out there like him.
I will kill those man if they do something to my princess.
I clenched my fingers around the spoon thinking about it.
"Liam the spoon didn't do anything to you" I heard Melissa. I releaseed the hold on the spoon and looked at her.
Beside her Sophia was also there.
"The food is great Melissa" I said smiling at her.
"Don't change the topic and say what happened. I haven't seen you silent, ever" she asked.
I don't know how to tell her that I am trying to win Destiny back.
"You know you can talk to us, we are here" Sophia said and placed her hand on my left hand which was placed on the table.
I smiled at her and said them what happened back in the high school and they heard me sitting beside me.
I felt a smack on my left arm. It was not painful but I rubbed my arm showing the fake hurt at Sophia.
"Why would you do that, and where was I when all this happened" she asked.
"It happened when I went to different school for last year highschool. Melissa and you were not with me, because I living alone" I said.
Yeah I wanted a new change, so I moved to Destiny's highschool. I lived a year alone without anyone's contact.
"So you were out of control without my help" I playfully glared at Sophia for the comment.
"I don't know what to do now. Mother and father said gain her trust back. And I have no clue what to do. Yesterday I took her out and apologized to her. And she said we can start of with friends" I said running my hand in my hair.
"Atleast she gave you the second chance. She is great as I said" Mellisa said smiling at me.
I smiled back.
"You don't have to worry. When Sophia is here, why fear" Sophia said by putting her hand on her heart.
Melissa and I laughed at her. It is great to have them in my life.
I and Sophia went to the home theater and watched some movies. I missed her and I was glad she came by today.
Before Meliisa and Sophia returned to their house, I asked Mellisa about bringing my parents to dinner here.
She brusted in tears hearing it and hugged me. She said, it was the best. I smiled at her.
At night I called mother to talk with her. She picked and answered "Hello".
"Hey mother" I said.
"Liam, how are you!" she asked excitedly.
"I am fine, how are you and father"
"We are great just tired"
"Okay"
Then we talked about few things. I was about to spill her the surprise I had planned. It warmed my heart talking to her, even after years I felt like a child. After few minutes I decided to end the call.
"Good night mother" I said.
"Good night son" she said and hung up.
I went towards my bedroom and went to sleep.
