Chapter 23
Destiny's pov
I am in my room now completing my work. I was making Liam's schedule for tomorrow. It's already half past eight in the night. I took the tissue and rubbed by running nose. Stupid cold.
It's been two days I haven't been to office. One for this cold and second to avoid Liam. I thought whether to let him in again or stay away from him. And I decided to stay away from him. I can't be fooled again.
After I ran away from him, I kept thinking about him. So in order to stop thinking about him. I ran to the nearest store and bought five tubs of my favorite ice-creams with different flavors and started watching my favorite movies back to back.
I was so into the movies that I ate all the ice cream. Literally all of them. And tomorrow morning I had fever and cold. Hence I caught the flu.
I called Alexis and took my leave. And I was avoiding Liam with that. I was relieved I won't be seeing him. It's still fresh in my head about the scene in his office. I can't seem to forget that.
And next day I was no better than yesterday. The fever had come down a little but the cold was not leaving me.
'That's what you get for eating the five tubs of ice-cream' my mind said.
'I learnt my lesson now, will you stop'
'Why should I. And remember you can't avoid Liam forever' she said
'Who said I was avoiding him'
'Seriously! You could have went to office today. It's just a cold, your fever have come down today morning. Don't try to fool me!' she said
'OK you got me there. I am avoiding him. Happy!'
'Very'
I heard a knock at my apartment door. I looked at the time. Who could be at this time, I said to myself. I got up, went to open the door. As I opened it, I was shocked to see Liam standing there in his working attire. Did he come here straight from the work.
"What are you doing here" I asked him coming out of the shock state.
He didn't answer me instead he bought his hand up and pressed it on my forehead and checked my temperature.
I moved back and asked "What are you doing" and sneezed immediately after that. I rubbed my nose a little bit to remove the itchiness.
"Are you okay, I heard Alexis saying that you were not well" he said looking at me.
But I can see his eyes are not fixed in one place.
It keeps diverting down to body. I looked down to see what he was looking.
My eyes widened. Shit I am only in my shorts and T-shirt. I didn't wear a bra inside.
Then his eyes landed on my chest and his eyes widened.
I think he came to know that I was not wearing a bra.
Damn me. He immediately looked away and coughed.
His face was becoming red. I crossed my arms infront of my chest and turned around and went to my room.
I stopped at the door. I didn't turn to him and said.
"I will come in a minute. Come inside and close the door" and ran to the closet.
I didn't know someone would come to my home today.
Whenever I am alone I am like this. I like to be free.
I quickly put the bra and sneezed again.
I didn't change my clothes, I was comfortable in this. If he is not then he can go out.
I came out to see him sitting on the couch. He has already removed his coat which was placed next to him. He looked up at me as I came out. I went and sat in single seated couch and put the cushion on my lap.
He cleared his throat and asked "How are you".
"Good, but cold is there" I said.
"Did you take the medicine"
"Yes"
We sat their for few minutes in silence. He was looking around the living room and I was playing with the cushion on my lap. Suddenly he talked.
"I thought you were avoiding me because of what happened in the office" I heard him asking me.
I looked up to see him already looking at me. I looked away immediately. Should I lie to him.
"Maybe or maybe not. I had flu yesterday and today" I said still looking down.
He released a breath and said "Look what happened in the office, I am truly sorry" I looked up at him.
He was looking at his hand which was resting on his lap "I know it's my fault behaving like that.
You just gave a another chance to me by starting of being with friends.
And I went to far. I don't know what happened to me at that moment" he took his coat and put his hand in the pocket and took out two packets of my favorite chocolate. He still remember.
"So I bought this as an apology" he said and forwarded his hand to give the chocolates to me.
"Since you bought the chocolates. I forgive you" I took it from him and smiled at him. I immediately opened one and started eating. I moaned tasting the flavor. I heard him chuckled.
"You still remember my favorite chocolate" I asked him taking another bite of it.
"How can I forget" he said smiling at me "It's you all I think about" I heard him whispering. I was so into the eating chocolate I didn't hear him properly.
"Did you say something" I asked.
"No nothing" he said hurriedly.
While eating the chocolate, I sneezed once again.
"Did you eat dinner and taken the medicine" he asked.
"No" I said not looking at him. I was busy eating my chocolate.But the chocolate was snatched from my hand. I looked at Liam to see him standing in front of me with my chocolate in his hand.
I stood up and tried to take the chocolate from him but he lifted it up keeping it out of my reach. I started jumping.
"Liam give it back. Once you gave it to me, it's mine" I said after several attempts to take it.
"Princess it's not good to eat it now. And you said you didn't had your dinner yet.
So.. " he leaned forward towards me and I leaned back a little.
He lifted his hand and rubbed my corner of my lips with his thumb and continued "After you eat your dinner you will get your chocolate.
Ok" I nodded my head. I was speechless because of his closeness.
His licked his thumb which he rubbed my corner of my lips and moaned "Hmm. It's good. Now I know why you are obsessed with this" he looked into my eyes and said "but it's more sweet than it should because I just... " his sentence was cut short because I started beating him with the cushion.
"You pervert" I shouted and continued hitting him. He was covering from me laughing. I was slightly smiling.
"You won't get the chocolate if you don't stop now" he said still covering from me. I stopped immediately and looked at him horrified. It's my life, how can he not give it to me.
"You wouldn't"
"I will give it to you after you finish your dinner" he said crossing his hand in front of him.
"Okay. But I didn't make dinner, and I am not in the mood to make it" I said.
"If I haven't come by today, you wouldn't have ate it right" he asked looking into my eyes.
I bit my lips. He caught me.
"Destiny you have cold, you have to recover from it by taking medicine after food" he said to me like he was scolding a small kid.
"Okay I will eat. But one condition, will you make the dinner" I asked him making puppy eyes. I learnt it from Ava.
He released a breath and said "Okay".
I beamed at him.
He took the chocolate and placed it in the refrigerator. He went to take out the ingredients. I slowly went to the refrigerator and opened it. But it was closed as soon as I opened it. I turned around and smiled at him sweetly like I didn't do anything.
He tsked and smirked at me "You can't fool me princess. Now be a good girl and sit far away from this until I complete making the dinner" he ordered. I nodded my head still smiling.
He started cooking the food. I was sitting at the counter looking at him. We started talking after sometime about nothing. We laughed and enjoyed ourselves. It was good being with him. It bought back the memories of our highschool.
'someone said I will stay away from him, but looks like it is going opposite' my heart said.
'Shut up'
I started cleaning up as he cooked on the stove. In between I sneezed few times. How did he learn to cook so well.
He soon plated the food and took to living room. Again he went inside and bought a bowl with him. I looked at him confused. We both sat in the same couch.
He gave the bowl to me and said "Drink this, it will reduce your cold by tomorrow". It was soup.
I took and drank it. It was good. I finished it and we started eating the food.
"How did you learn to cook" I said finishing the plate.
He scratched his head and said "Well Melissa taught me some basics. And in free time l learned some dishes on my own".
I smiled at him. It was cute to see Liam speaking in shyness about his cooking.
"You are really a good cook. It's was delicious. Even that day the spaghetti was awesome" I said to him.
He smiled whole heartedly. I took my medicine and went to do the dishes.
"No" Liam came beside me and took the plate from my hand and said "You go and sleep, I will take care of this. You need rest" he slightly pushed me aside.
"I should at least do this. You cooked the dinner. I can't make you do this" I said and reached to take the plates. But he pushed me away.
"If you don't go now I will eat rest of your chocolates" he said smirking at me. I closed my mouth and went to my room. I heard his chuckle.
I cleaned the stuff from my bed and got ready to bed. I was about to drift, I think it's the medicine I was drifting to sleep fast.
I opened my eyes sleepily when I feel someone caressing my hair. It was Liam.
"Sorry I woke you up, but I am going back home. I thought to inform you before I go" he said slightly smiling at me. I looked at the the time to see that its really late. It was soon to be midnight.
I looked back at him and said "Stay" I closed my eyes and moved to the other end and made space for him to sleep.
I don't know what I was doing. It was the medicine effect.
I took his hand and bought to my cheek so that he won't escape in the night.
I heard him take a sharp intake of the breath.
"It's late, don't go" I said sleepily and mumbled "Stay". His hand was warm. I heard some shuffling and soon I felt a warm body come beside me. I left his hand and moved towards the warmth.
Someone lifted my head and placed it on a hard object but it was good. Soon I drifted off to sleep feeling something heavy on my waist.
