Chapter 34
Liam's pov
I slowly blinked my eyes to open them and groaned in pain. My head and body hurts like hell. I feel like a truck has ran over me. I lift my right hand to massage my head but a sharp pain shoots on my right hand. I see a IV drip is attached to my hand. I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion.
What the hell happened to me. I slowly got up and sat leaning my back over my headboard.
I looked down to see, I was not wearing my shirt.
And was tugged inside the sheets. Then I looked around the room, it's still dark outside.
I look at my left to see a figure sitting on the floor leaning on my bed with her head placed on her hands fast asleep.
I lifted my left hand and pushed her hair back to see her face. I was shocked to see Destiny. When did she come here? And main importantly what happened to me?
I heard my room door opened with lights on. I turned to my right and saw my mother coming in along with a tray. When she saw me sitting, she gasped and placed the tray on the table and ran towards me.
"Liam, finally you are awake. I was so worried about you. How do you feel?" she said sat on the bed and took my right hand gently.
"Not to good, my head and body hurts a little. And what you mean finally woke up. It's still midnight" I said totally confused.
"Oh dear" she bought her right hand up and caressed my cheek "It's not midnight son. You were unconscious for the whole day. You had a high fever when I came here in morning" she said.
"The whole day!" I said in a surprised tone.
"Shush! Be Quiet" she whisper shouted and looked at Destiny that I didn't disturb her and looked back at me.
"Destiny is sleeping, don't wake her up. She had been with you all day looking after you. She must be tired, so she fell asleep. I thought to bring her some dinner, she hasn't eaten anything since she has arrived here from morning" she said.
"What happened?" I asked running a hand on my hair.
"The doctor said due to high fever you were unconscious.
He had few questions to ask you but you were not waking up.
The doctor said it must be from stress and lack of sleep.
He put IV drip so you can get glucose. Thank God Destiny came at the right time and informed to call the doctor immediately" she said.
"Why did you call Destiny?"
"I didn't know what to do, seeing you sleeping there not moving a muscle I panicked.
Mellisa was not here and your father as well.
Nothing came to my mind that time. So I called her.
She helped me taking care of you" mother said looking at her.
I turned towards Destiny and looked at her beautiful face.
"Can you tell me what happened before you went to bed yesterday" my mother asked.
"From Saturday night, I was not feeling good. Headache was continuously bugging me. I had taken some medicine. Yesterday evening I was feeling slightly better. But I think yesterday rain made it more worse" I said.
"What it had to do with rain" mother asked me in confusion.
"I stood in rain for half hour before I went to bed" I said still looking at Destiny. I felt a sting on my thigh and looked at it to see that my mother had pinched me. I rubbed the the spot and looked at her. My eyes softened seeing tears in my mother eyes.
"You have to more conscious about your health Liam.
I was so scared seeing you like that. I didn't know what to do.
I was so worried about you. I thought about the time when we were not here and what you have went through.
I was not there to look after you" she started crying silently. I wiped her tears and held her hands.
"In past nothing happened like this okay.
So no need to worry. It's just this new deal made me a work like a mad man.
From few days I have been sleeping only for three to four hours, so I think this is the result of that" I patted her hand and looked at Destiny again.
"I don't know why I stood in rain for half hour, it just felt like I didn't have problem as the water droplets fell on me.
And I felt like I was closure to someone".
My mother patted my thigh and replied "I know what you are feeling.
But be careful next time". I looked towards her and smiled at her.
A knock was heard at my door. My mother got up and went to opened the door.
My mother talked to them and a person came in.
They walked in, he was wearing a white coat and has a bag.
Seeing me sitting on the bed, he smiled at me.
"Looks like the patient is finally up. I am Dr. Evan Woods. So how do you feel now" he asked and stood beside my bed. My mother went out.
"Not good" I said not replying properly.
"Do you feel any pain or anything" he asked as he opened the bag.
"Yes. My head and body hurts"
"It's normal to have those pains when you are not well. Your body is stressed, so I am strictly ordering you to take 2 days complete rest. No working" he ordered checking me up and changed the drip packet.
"I can't, I have a company to look after" I said raising my voice a little. I looked at Destiny, so that I didn't wake her up. I froze when she turned head. But she didn't wake up. She is really a heavy sleeper.
"Well now I know how to make you rest for 2 days" Dr. Evan said. I looked at him to see that he was looking at Destiny in amusement. I cleared my throat to get his attention.
"What do you mean by that" I whispered a little loud.
"You will know sooner" he said and walked towards Destiny. I sat up straight when he bent down to her level. I clenched my fist, when he was about to touch her.
"What the hell are you doing? Don't touch her!" I whispered shouted at him. He didn't listen instead he smoothly lifted her up in his arms. I was about to rip my IV drip from my hands when he spoke.
"Now I wouldn't do that if you want her to stay" he whispered slowly and placed her next to me.
And in instant, I quickly pulled her towards to me gently by her shoulder.
She quickly wrapped her hands around me and slept off.
She doesn't even know what's happening around her.
A smile broke on my face and gently moved her hair back from her face.
"There is no problem with you now. I will be get going, and no work for 2 days" I looked up to see the Dr. Evan was at my door with his things. I was confused, how fast was he or how much time did I take to look at Destiny.
I ran my fingers in Destiny's hair and thought about these weeks.
It was so stressful and hectic. But it was worth it.
I completed one of my dream again. I wanted to talk so many things with Destiny, but the time was not good.
But I learned one thing, she didn't have any relationship with anyone. I was happy about that.
My relationship with my parents is getting better.
We would have breakfast and dinner together.
Because of my work sometimes I would miss dinner.
Melissa had went out on a vacation with her family last week.
I miss her cooking. Not that I don't like mother cooking.
I just miss it because these past few years I have been eating her food.
After many days, yesterday I got the complete rest and was happy to see Destiny today. But not like this. When I saw rain, I became overwhelmed. I love the feeling of rain for the first time.
My thoughts were broken when I heard the sound of door knob in my room. My mother came in. She stopped walking when she saw Destiny beside me. She looked up at me in confusion. I shrugged my shoulders and answered.
"The doctor helped her up. She didn't even flinch".
She chuckled and sat beside me.
"I am not bother at all, whether she is beside you or on top of you"she said smirking at me. I looked at her horrified.
"Mother!" I whisper shouted at her as my face starts to heat up. She laughed silently.
"As long as she would become my daughter in law, I won't ask anything" I groaned and glared at her. She cooled down and spoke.
"Are you hungry? I can make something to eat for you"
"Yeah. Just something good" I replied.
"I spoke with the doctor, and you will listen to him. So no work" she said and got up from the bed.
"Mother, not you too. I am going to work" I said.
"I will see" she said and picked up the tray she bought earlier "Looks like she won't be getting up any soon. I will make her something in the morning" before she left I called her.
"Thank you mother" she smiled at me and went out.
I picked up my mobile and went through it.
I messaged some people. I saw ten missed calls from Destiny in the morning and some of the clients.
I placed back the mobile on the night stand and looked down at Destiny.
Her outfit was cute today. It showed her legs more. There was something change in her.
Yes! She cut her hair.
But I like it long.
It's her wish. She can do want ever she wants. She looks beautiful in anything. I gently removed her hand from me and got up. I covered her with my blankets and picked up my drip stand, and went to the bathroom.
I did my business and brushed my teeth. I washed my face and went out to see my mother sit on the bed with her hands linked together. Hearing the door open, she looked up and rushed towards me.
"You should have waited till I came back" she picked the stand and helped me to bed. I just shook my head at her caring self. As soon as I sat on the bed properly, a hand went across me and Destiny cuddled to my side. Me and my mother chuckled at her behavior.
"Someone missed you in her dreams" my mother commented playfully.
"Now eat and take rest" she said and passed a bowl of soup to me. As I was drinking, I asked a question which popped up in my mind.
"What happened to my shirt. As I remember, last night I had a shirt on me" I asked taking a sip from the bowl.
"Destiny removed it" hearing that, I started coughing.
"What?" I asked still coughing.
"What do you mean by 'what'. It has to be done that way" she said smirking at my reaction.
"What way" I asked again gulping down the soup quickly.
"No dirty thoughts Liam. She just removed your shirt to wipe it with wet towel on you to bring your temperature down. While doing that, you should have seen her face. I have never seen anyone turn red like her" she said laughing at the memory.
"I am not thinking dirty" I mumbled and gave her my bowl looking everywhere but her. She chuckled.
"I will leave you two now. Get some rest" she stood up and took everything with her.
As she was about to close the door she said "And Liam no funny business" she wiggled her eyebrows and went out.
My face heated up. I rubbed my hand on face to cool down.
I shook my head to remove any dirty thoughts.
I picked her hand up slightly and lowered my body on the bed. I gently turned towards her and placed her hand back on my waist. I can't put my hand on her. The IV drip is stopping me from doing it.
But I want to wrap my hands around her. I gently lifted her head from my right hand and placed my arm under her head and gently placed her head back. I pressed a kiss on her lips and forehead and cuddled her.
I love sleeping like this. With her in my arms.
